I don't rate him at all.
Good at carrying the ball, great at carrying it for too long and not getting the pass right.

That said I haven't watched him much.

I think having an option like him to throw on would be brilliant. So different from Rashford, Sancho and Greenwood.

If Martial fails to rediscover form this season I would certainly consider selling him and bringing in St.Maximum! But I think his playstyle which is a bit… you know, ball-hogging and selfish wouldn’t really suit a starter.

You only need to watch him for 5 mins to realise he's a proper player. One would that would shine in a team with better players.
Too many are obsessed with statistical analysis and can't see the wood for the trees.
True, the man literally put two chances on the plate in situations no one has the right to. Then everytime he got the ball on the edge of the box it was a shot on target in traffic. Not sure what more they want. On top of that, he has 4 goal contributions out of the 6 goals Newcastle has scored. That hopeless team cant even move up the pitch unless he gets the ball. He also showed some really good football intelligence with some good passes.

Another nice goal today. If Newcastle go down can we please sign him? He's so gifted with the ball that it'd make watching United somewhat fun again. Really wish we went in for him instead of Sancho.

(And before anyone interjects, yes he doesn't have 10+ goals a season. But if you watch him regularly his final ball is pretty good, it's just he plays with a shite midfield and attack where he has to pick the ball at the half way line to do anything).

I don't think he's very good, would need a proper coach to get anything out of him, runs into blind alleys far too often and has 1 decent game in every 5 or 6

I used to think he was all flash no end product before this season and it's easy to brand him that by just looking at his style & casually watching him/highlights. From watching a lot more this season, he's definitely the real deal. Creates chances out of absolutely nothing even when surrounded by players and his shooting is actually really good. More specifically his striking technique is consistently clean and well driven. Sounds like basic stuff but you'd be surprised how many supposedly good wingers/attacking mids fall short in this regard.

That's fair. I've only watched Newcastle a handful of times this season but he's been miles ahead of everyone else on the park on each occasion. Stick a proper goalscorer up top and he'd rack up the assists.

What do you think his value is?
He is worth about 30 M according to Transfermarkt, but he is at a very rich club with 4 years left on his deal. There is no way anyone can get him for a fair price...

Unless they're targeting higher-profile names for whatever reason in the next windows.

A throwback footballer isn't he.

Picks up the ball, head down and slaloms his way passed people with ease.

Perhaps early on you could say he runs into blind alleys, but he's stepped it up big time in the last year.

I'd have him at United in a heartbeat. He's going nowhere near though, the fans absolutely love him and he will be the figurehead of this newcastle climb.

I'm not sure he would play the same way at a big club but i'd like to see him surrounded by quality players. Only 24 so he still has a window to move somewhere at his peak in a year or two.

Quality player. People that compare him to Traore don't understand football.

Yeah, if anyone wanted to buy him, that chance is long gone now.

I think he'll have a similar career to Nani, which was bloody good.

Certainly seems a very similar player doesn't he.

Explosive, full of tricks, probably doesn't know what he's doing himself

That type of unpredictability is so fun to watch, it's what football is all about for me.

These robotic 95% pass merchants can get stuffed.

Exactly and he does have that game raising quality to pull the whole team forward. Like Nani Vs Bayern, he can almost get everyone going and the crowd.

Sure he can't be like that every game, but I'll remember him before I remember some of those boring players you allude to!

He needs to improves his end product and start to get 15-25 Goals/assists per season, which he could well do this season seeing as Newcastle are looking pretty decent.

I really rate this guy and personally would love him at UTD

I would like to see him in a unites shirt, his camp have apparently requested an improvement to his contract so maybe we could land him next summer.

Seems to be a fine chap aswell so there's that.

Excellent player- would be a firm fan favourite if he came here. Absolutely terrifies defences when he gets the ball.

The only issues are that Newcastle have no reason to sell and he seems to pick up a lot of injuries.

Hope people have been watching him today. Classic ASM. Looks like a world class player one week and absolute dogshit the next. He’s got terrible consistency. Decision making today has been so poor.
