Where are all those heralding him earlier this summer and saying he should've had de Gea spot? They've certainly gone quiet.

He is and never was the answer to our problems, he's yet another highly overrated and overhyped English goalkeeper.
They'll turn up again once he saves a penalty, then post him gloating on social media for a week.

I didnt mind him having a go at some for his issues but seems like his ego cant cash his quality and he seems like a bit of prick as a person in general, in football surroudings that is.

I'm looking forward to one of his journo puff writers giving us an article about how Forest and United have failed him.

I thought he was quite poor against Bournemouth, but don't think he could have done much tonight. Those were some quality goals.

Well, at least he's playing now I guess...

The only "criminal" thing about him, is that he's still on our books.

2nd was bad. Near post, not top corner, and he got fingertips to it as well.

3rd I don't know if it could have been saved, but his positioning was awful, was rooted to the near post as the cross flew past.

1st he's blameless.

Funny how with him 90% of goals are "quality goals". Problem is that he makes them quality. All those long range goals which he conceded can be saved. But he is too short and has shit reflexes to save them.
For 3rd goal his positioning is awful. Decent gk saves that

Should have done better for their third.

He doesn’t make many saves, does he?

I already admitted that. I am enjoying in this and i hope he will concede 5 goals every single game and be benched in bloody Notthingam F.
Totally understandable. I find myself laughing at this myself.

Still fun to watch this thread, though.

Can't help but smile. Henderson cheerleaders conspicuous by their absence now.
People wanting our player to fail is so weird to me.
He is an arrogant nob that's also an average keeper that gives it the big 'un and talks trash about our club. It’s 100% understandable.

I agree he could have done better on his positioning on the 3rd goal. Still don't think the second goal should be held against him

The things he said about the club were true. Him playing poorly is bad for us. If we're going to get a good fee for him, he needs to do well.

I don't think we'll get a good fee for him one way or another. He's another on silly money...no club will pay a decent wedge for him and then offer comparable wages.

Also, how do you know the things he said about the club were true?

For me they were all good goals. The closest to a mistake is probably the second. Maybe a taller keeper with a good leap gets a good hand to that and keeps it out. Possibly, certainly not a clear error. The standard some seem to expect of goalkeepers is pretty unrealistic, pretty much everything that goes in the net and you have people saying a keeper is badly positioned, or they dived wrong, or whatever else.

Finally understand why his positioning was like that... he was anticipating the shot coming from Willian

He’s right at his near post before the cross comes in though... and facing/staring at the lad who crosses it.

He should at least be thinking “he hasn’t got much room, there’s a covering defender, it’s a cross not a shot”? He looks reactive in most things he does.

Weird energy in this thread, there were debates around him being a better fit than De Gea for this team which in fairness were backed up by the statistics from his period as United number one and De Gea's form this calendar year but I don't think there was anyone saying he was good enough to be the long-term number one, and the reality is it's good for the club if he had a good loan to boost his value for next summer. I don't think anyone expects to see him back in a United shirt again so this weird satisfaction people take from him not performing is bizarre, while he's a United player it's in our interests that he performs.

In terms of the goals tonight, I've only seen them quickly so haven't done any proper analysis but from what I've seen, you'd have to say first is outside of his control, second he should be doing better and arguably same for the third. The intriguing aspect of the third is De Gea shows the same overcompensations in those situations, it's almost a carbon copy in fact, so the mind does wonder if it's an aspect of how we coach the goalkeepers at United.

I wish some of the Forest defenders start beating the pitch and blame the goalkeeping when they concede a goal.

He isn’t good enough for us, and is nowhere near DDG. People hating on De Gea for not being good with his feet, led them to believe this cnut can do a job for us.

We need a Keeper who is just as good as DDG at shot stopping, but unlike him, can command the box and play with his feet. Henderson fills none of these qualities.

Watched the highlights and wasn’t at fault for any of the goals, but it apparently proved why he’s no good? This place :houllier:

That period when he was number one, which coincided with the team having a decent run defensively, also featured four defenders who have all been discarded by ETH.

Then you're being intentionally biased and blind, his positioning for the 3rd goal especially is awful, what's he doing being in front of his near post when there's like 2 defenders covering that angle, he never gave himself a chance to be in the right position to save the shot. Not a coincidence how he seems to always concede 'great goals', it's because his positioning is shit that a half placed shot will always go in against him it feels like

His positioning reminds me of an outfield player going in goal for the first time.
