Paul Pogba being blackmailed by his own brother?

This is really one of those stories that you can't believe you're seeing with your eyes. It's just so wild. We might not be world champions again by the end of the year, but we will always be world champions of completely unnecessary drama before a big international tournament.

Paul Pogba is threatened a gunpoint by former friends AND Blackmailed by his own brother.

Redcafe: "Thank feck that circus has left Manchester"

Just feck off Redcafe. This is just colossal victimblaming.

Not our problem. Thank feck for that.

Lodge a complaint, Hire a body guard firm, keep a low profile and fix on self improvements. Shouldn't be hard for a multi millionaire. But hey, it's #pogba

In a way I do feel for him, but feck it, I’ll respond in the same way he treated his time at United, not giving a feck.

Is it not possible to think two things at the same time?

I sympathize with Pogba in so far as you shouldn't be subject to blackmail, threats, or workplace harassment.

I'm also glad that he's not a Manchester United player. One reason why is that this drama is not totally associated with the football club I support.

I don't think it's victim blaming to state that you're glad a troubled individual isn't associated with yourself or what you support. Doesn't mean you think they're a bad person or undeserving of justice.

Brother and his associates have now been formally charged.

Mathias Pogba has been charged and detained over an alleged plot to extort money from his brother Paul, the France and Juventus midfielder.

Four other people have also been placed under formal investigation for extortion and criminal association, judicial sources told news agencies Reuters and Agence France-Presse.
Mathias Pogba's lawyer, Yassine Bouzrou, said his client is innocent.

He told French broadcaster BFMTV: "We are going to challenge this decision."

Mathias Pogba, 32, has admitted he was behind a video that appeared online last month promising "revelations" about the 29-year-old Juventus midfielder.

French prosecutors opened a judicial investigation earlier this month after former Manchester United player Paul said he was the target of extortion and threats from an organised gang.

He filed a complaint with Turin prosecutors on 16 July claiming he was the target of a 13m euro (£11.29m) blackmail plot.

A World Cup winner with France in 2018, Pogba moved to Juventus on a free transfer this summer after leaving Manchester United.

Mathias Pogba is also a professional footballer who has been capped by Guinea and played for clubs across Europe including Crewe, Wrexham, Crawley and Partick Thistle.

Someone tell the feds it’s just the Pogba family circus

Thank feck that circus isn't associated with United anymore.

Ha

I feel for him as it must be incredibly fecked to have family do this to you. Your own brother no less.

But I’m so glad we cut ties with these lot in the summer.

Now it’s pretty clear why none of the big clubs would even touch him despite being a free transfer.

This is quite sad really, you would hate to think of your siblings acting like this. That being said, despite the hope I always had that the penny would drop with him and him obviously being a very talented footballer, I am so glad we are rid of this circus.

This sounds like a terrible situation for him. I wonder how long things have been going on, and the impact it's been having on him.

It also sounds very odd with the witch doctor stuff. Is there anywhere with the timeline of alleged events to read into it a bit more, or is it still difficult to find due to ongoing investigations?

They all think of Paul as the cash cow, clearly very jealous of his fame, success and wealth. They'd rather try to drag him down than support him.

No wonder the latter part of his career has fallen apart when he's having to deal with rubbish like that.

We saw it with Adebayor, we are seeing it with Oshimen. Why do these family members always think they have the right to these guys money?

It’s always an older sibling/relative too. Must be an ego and power thing — I’m the elder, without me you wouldn’t be there - you owe me.

Glad the drama isn't associated with United now, but it's still very sad he's having to go through that, when he always seemed inseparable from his brothers. A bizarre situation.

This is wild because he always seemed to be good with his brothers, though granted that was taken purely from the social media videos etc. Must feel awful to have your siblings trying to do this to you, when more than likely Paul would have been happy to share his wealth with them anyway.

Ha

He’s a United academy graduate, and the thread is active because his brother has been charged in a plot to extort him. Some empathy would be cool. There are currently things that are much worse that are associated with United

Keep on insinuating that Paul is in any way shape or form to blame for whats happened to him here Redcafe. Dont stop setting the standard for good, standup behavior.

I assume the white text is not needed.

Whoosh.

Holy heavens to Betsy, kidnapping ffs?

edit: headline says blackmail, which we already knew was one of the allegations, is kidnapping legit one of them too?

I am glad the Pogba family circus is no longer with us but I still feel sorry for him, what a horrible thing to have happen to you. I always thought he was a happy but simple bloke who was being dragged along by nasty feckers like Raiola, but his own brother?

They apparently held him at gunpoint and made him go the bank to withdraw money so that could technically be kidnapping or false imprisonment.
