Rashy's recent form makes him nailed on for me. His pace and off the ball running are brilliant and after more than a season of watching Sancho, I'm still not quite sure what he's good at exactly.

Our strongest front four right now IMO is

Martial
Rashford Bruno Antony
Intuitively that feels balanced to me. If we had a wrecking ball like Haaland at CF maybe Sancho + Antony on the wings makes sense but I just don't see it right now.

A good example is Arsenal's attack

Jesus / Martial
Martinelli / Rashford
Odegaard / Bruno
Saka / Antony

On current form, Rashford.

Agreed Rashford provides a decent balance with his pace and directness. Him and Martial also have a good connection - unsurprisingly as they have played together for so long.

Rashford looks more dangerous in every way to Sancho right now. Even when Rashford isn't at his best, he's still quite often good for a goal or assist. He's also got pace which need side desperately needs.

Sancho's form is....a concern. I hope it can click for him soon.

Right now Rashford. Sancho just needs to get rid of his timidness. There is no reason why player of his skill should be that afraid of his own ability around defenders.

Rashford scored tonight, so obviously Rashy.

Have to go with Rashford right now. Hopefully he doesn't go back to the version he had become last season.
Sancho's all round play needs to improve a lot more for him to be first choice. Has scored goals no doubt but kind of seems to fade out by half time every game.

Right now it has to be Rashford.

Hopefully Sancho off the bench can show something in his cameos to earn him a start of push Rashford to play better more consistently to keep his place.

Both of them need to prove themselves and hopefully the competition brings it out of them as it's a good problem to have (in theory if they kick on anyway).

In the next game at least, Rashford.

After that it's just about whoever is in better form really, assuming Antony doesn't start putting in dire performances. Wouldn't hitch my wagon to either for more than a few games.

Rashford despite problems is still more experienced, hopefully he'll give Sancho some time to stop being afraid.

Rashford easily right now. Sancho is more competing with Antony IMO, as Rashford offers the directness in behind that neither of them offer.

Rashford offers much more at the moment. If Sancho wants to start he has to play his way into the team again.

You pick the player based on training performances and match form and once they start slacking you let them know someone else is in the background wanting their spot, right now you go with Rashford but let it be known Sancho is right behind him to keep him motivated to keep his place.

Also there’s the Rashford/Martial connection to factor in as when both are fit and playing well they have a very good connection, with their pace they’re also very good players for Fernandes and Antony to play in behind as well as Eriksen from deep whereas Sancho is much more a creator than a scorer.

Sancho's value is dependent on a team that is good on the build. But Rashford has the kind of talent that can easily relegate him to depth regardless.

It's pretty clear, to me at least, that Martial is our best CF. And Rashford paired with him just works. So for this year at least our starting group should be Rash, Martial, Antony. I think that is the group that will grow together and maybe start terrorizing opponents, though Martial's irritating tendency to get hurt will derail that at some point.

Sancho is shite on the left. He's a class finisher but far too predictable and slows it down too much when cutting in from that side. From the right his natural move is to go down the outside and play the ball across but he's more than good enough to cut in and shoot anyway.

For me Rashford is our best winger, we just need to keep his head in the game and keep him fit. Antony steadily improving too I think.

We already know that an even half on form Rashford can get around 20 goals a season from the left.

Sancho hasn't shown that and hasn't shown anything to suggest he could do it either.

Last season when Rashford was offering nothing you'd preferably not start either, but other than that I don't get how it's even a debate. If only one of them plays it would juat obviously be Rashford.

I want Sancho to do well but he needs to add a cutting edge and a lot more determination. Forwards are in the team to win games by scoring or assisting goals, not do a few nice dummies and play maybe 1 clever but ultimately meaningless pass into the box a game. He's shown he can be a very good player but needs to cut out all the extra touches and indirectness

Rashford as he is at least a goal threat. I'd have Elanga over Sancho right now.

The problem with the "current form" argument, at least with respect to United, is that current form appears to have a shelf live of only 3-4 matches, tops. When was the last time we could speak of a player who was in top form for 3-4 months? Maybe Martial three seasons ago and you could even say Martinez is well on track to be in top current form for 3-4 months, but that's about it.

Wayne Rooney, to set the record straight, was notoriously streaky and rarely was in top form for as long as 3-4 months.

What surprises me is that a couple of weeks ago most lauded Sancho. A few months ago most hated Martial and Rashford.

Wtf?

Is it really all about confidence? Or are most just reactionary?

Rashford is the more natural foil for Martial because he's happier to make runs off the ball

It's not either of those things, most want the in form player playing. Currently Rashford and Martial are in better form than Sancho and Ronaldo, thus should play. Sancho's form from a couple of weeks ago is now irrelevant.

Confidence = form.

I agree 100%, btw. What I don't agree with is that Rashford is better than Sancho, just because the former is currently playing better.

I don't think that Rashford is a better player than Sancho, but he's more useful in a dysfunctional team. Rashford doesn't have any glaring weaknesses as an attacker(although he's not really a threat in the air) and he has blistering pace on top of this, which means that he's dangerous on the counter or when given space to run into.

If they played for City, then I think Sancho would have been favored over Rashford. Maybe not based on current form, but generally speaking.

So yes, Rashford should start over Sancho. At least on Sunday.

Rashfold above sancho. He is energetic, quicker and his link up lay with Martial is lovey most times. Sancho is preferable when we play teams that sit really deep. I think we are beginning to have depth in quality. Though i expect Sancho to depart the club in a couple of seasons. if you watch Anthony play, you get a feeling of the kind of winger ETH wants. In his Post match, ETH explains why Sancho and Malacia were subbed off at half time. Movement and pace, That is what will keep sancho out of the Team

Right now I think it's Sancho vs Antony, but also possibly Sancho vs Bruno. Rashford and Martial are shoe ins for me, same with Eriksen and Casemiro. I really like the look of Antony but he'll have his inconsistencies obviously. Bruno has been meh, and there's the chance to use all 3 of the dynamic attackers together. Shaw vs Malacia is another that will rotate based on form which is good. The rest is set IMO

I have been very critical of Rashford at times but at least he is trying to take on-board what ETH and his team are doing on the training pitch.

I think right now I would go with Rashford, Martial and Anthony

Did Rashford score 20 last season? A shit Rashford is really, really shit. Remember?
But what does that really matter right now? We have been at our sparkling best, this season, when Rashford has been on the left and Martial in the middle, so obviously that should be the lineup?

Was carrying and injury, and managed 5 goals and 2 assists in 1600 mins, Sancho managed 5 goals 3 assists in 2400 mins so an injured Rashford was more productive :annoyed:

Yeah, but Rashy couldn't hold on to the ball. He was really shit. I'm super disappointed in Sancho btw. What I just don't understand is why we're all like, sell, sell, sell when a player is shit and then forget about it as soon as the player plays well.
