ETH with some important decisions at half time: our right side attack has been mostly blunted. Dalot has gotten a cross in, but him and Elanga have no interplay. If Dalot pushes up, Elanga is not covering or even looking to cover if they get the ball.

Elanga has to come off, Garnacho or Sancho on. Ronaldo hasn’t done much but have to assume he’s staying on. Their only threat has been through Benrahma individual skill, and he’ll have Maguire on toast if he gets the chance.

Except for that goal v Atletico, I haven't seen (or at least I don't remember) Elanga having a proper shot at the goal yet. Maybe I'm just being too harsh on him and forget things quickly.

Anyways, great assist from Eriksen and an important goal. West Ham were better side first part of this half, they weren't just defending most of the time like Moyes' tactics were on previous occasions, but caused us problems in middle of the pitch as well. After that we got better.

I've defended Maguire when he had bad spells in his first 2 seasons the club but this season just watching him play makes me nervous and anxious really. We've had too many disaster results over last year so it's like Vietnam flashbacks.

There's system dynamics in place now unlike last season though, and you can see in this game that when that happens, at least 2 United players rush to the area for the crosses - so it seems very balanced to me. He can't just sit around as a 9 all game, he needs to deviate a bit to participate in the game.
