He's completely lost touch with reality. It's kind of sad to see.

I can only assume that he's surrounded himself with yes men and adoring fans for so long that he thinks he's bigger than the club and can bend the fans to his will. I bet he's dumbfounded by the negative reaction to this interview.

I mean with Piers Morgan of all people... Ffs

It may do. I'd be interested in knowing the exact chronology, though. Why were United so doubting of their marquee player's explanation of why he couldn't train? I suspect the answer is because they were well aware he was trying to engineer a move before he told them about his daughter.
I wasn't even aware of the club doubting it. Ten Hag was always pretty clear he was missing for personal reasons. He couldnt exactly go into talking about Ronaldo's personal issues in a press conference so not sure what more he or the club could say.

I'm not sure if Ronaldo would be alluding to internal things within the club or just the club not supporting him enough publicly. Either way if I had a 3 month old daughter in hospital I can't think I would be dealing with this sort of stuff rationally.

I dunno I'm just trying to see how this interview even makes sense. As anything rational or calculated it simply doesn't. So can only think it's stuff he's been holding onto for some time and been getting himself more qnd more worked up about. Remember the "in a few weeks the fans will know the truth" tweet or whatever it was?

This piece of shit was whoring himself to multiple clubs during the summer, didnt get his move, and used his daughters health as excuse as to why he never showed up.

As a human being, he is shameless. Selfish, awful narcissist.

You've not been reading the thread then? We have some very special folk on here - honestly the **** of Ronaldo is one of the wonders of the world
There's a **** of Ronaldo fans who would take his side regardless but they don't count.

The point is that the match-going fans and the broader United fanbase who aren't weirdos will all be overwhelmingly against him. And given the status he had here managing to alienate the fanbase to that extent is nearly impressive.

Crynaldo isn't saying anything that hasn't been known. Literally nothing anyone can do or it would have been done already. but we can't force them to sell and if we could it would be some state sports wash
Exactly, the fans stopped a game against Liverpool from happening not long ago. Incredible to see some think this pathetic interview will make much difference with the Glazers.

I have no idea either, yet.
We knew this, but when the most famous followed social media etc footballer on the planet says to Morgan on an interview, then the whole world knows it too. And its about time, make the Glazers feel a bit awkward at the very least.
Maybe, I'm not sure even with his huge following that he will control the narrative after this. His attacks on the manager and Rooney obscured any worth in it. I think the coverage will fare poorly for Ronaldo.

Lads, he wants the termination. We shouldn’t give it to him. Instead, he gets sent to train with the under 18s. If another club wants him, they still have to negotiate with us.

letting him out of his contract would be giving him what he wants. feck him. Let him rot absolute selfish wrong un.

With his mindset, if he wasn’t a ridiculously talented footballer, he’s be a fascist dictator committing genocides.

Pure psychopathy to do an interview like this to try change the narrative around his last 6 months at United given the circumstances.

Brilliant footballer, terrible person.

If Ferguson of the 90s or 00s were in charge for this, I think we’d see an official club statement saying we’ve released him before we even got wind of this interview.

Absolutely love this, confirms the personality we all knew he had. Good riddance. And to deliver it in an interview with Piers Morgan. What a beautifully c***ish thing to do.

Wonder where he’ll end up. Won’t the the MLS.

By the way, by doing this Ronaldo has united the fanbase around ETH, and I guess that played differently in his head somehow. He also added unneeded extra pressure on himself just before the WC, while we won't have to deal with him for another month.

I'm stunned. Not at Ronaldo's feelings towards the club, but at the sheer audacity of it. We all know the nonsense of last summer and stuff like the Spurs walkout, but all of them can be spun by Ronaldo's PR team. But this? To come out and say that he has no respect for the manager, to talk shit about the club-the only club's fans who have chanted for him every step of the way-is not just disrespectful, but spiteful.

It seems like the only thing he respected about United was SAF. But he has failed to realize a core principle of SAF's management-no one is bigger than the club. Congrats Ronaldo, you've destroyed your United legacy. He should never be on the pitch as a United player again. His contract needs to be terminated, pay the mercenary his money, get him out of the club.

Nah, I think we need him out of the club asap, even if it means giving him what he wants. Having him hanging around for the second half of the season will be toxic.

Portugal fans are in some pain in this World Cup.

He's going to even more selfish than ever now, with a point to prove and trying to attract a new club.

He's going to be taking 50 shots a game from ridiculous angles, forget passing to anyone.

Insane that he can’t see his next club will also be very wary of signing such a diva. Very shortsighted interview if he wants to play for any champions league club that sort of matters. Really dont see where he’d be going next.

Yip and he shouldn’t even be starting. They’d have an outside chance at winning the WC if it wasn’t for Ronaldo

From Ronaldo's view what are the actual positives of doing this?
Apparently shitting on his employer and throwing a much publicized fit is supposed to attract the suitors in January who didn't want to touch him when he wasn't saying anything yet...

Not surprised. Upper management is shambles. When he came, under Ole, he was promised something. Then Ole was sacked and Ralph came in. He changed what was promised and got sacked. Then ETH came and same again. For a player promises has been broken. Im not debating whether Ronaldo is good enough or not, but the club has signed players and given promises which has not been kept for a long long time.

We've signed players for huge sums who ain't good enough for us to take the next step. The players aint in the wrong, it's the decision makers.
E.g. Ronaldo - our worst player by a huge margin if we're being honest.

What a cretin. Another United win and another night he grabs the headlines away. Shameless and zero self awareness.

He wouldn't be here if any other club wanted him. And it seems he cant rationalise that fact with his ego.
