I thought the slavery thing was far worse and just disrespectful on all levels.
Far worse than directly stating that you don't respect your current manager? The slavery thing was silly while what he said in that interview is lie and also attack his manager.

Which nutter wanted him back at the club? Yes, I'm bitter about him turning into a great player at Real where he played out his peak before coming back as an OAP to his *cough* spiritual home. Ronaldo's a winner, he'll turn United players into winners with his attitude. What a load of nonsense his mates peddle in the media eh.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
You’d be surprised. They can stop recording and edit out somebody leaving very easily nowadays.
No. I wouldn’t be surprised. He wasn’t ill when he did that interview. And like I said - look up Chris Evans bring sacked from his multi-million contract:

“Evans, 35, was sacked for breach of contract after failing to turn up for work on his breakfast show six days in a row. He told Virgin he was ill, but he was seen drinking in pubs near his home with his young wife, the 19-year-old singer Billie Piper.”

Maybe he had diarrhoea too.

If that’s true, what a bellend!
I don't know how true that is but I thought it was interesting at the time how Ganarcho did the Messi shirt celebration. Incidentally, I think that Messi celebration was one of the coldest celebrations I've ever seen.

Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.

United waiting for Wednesday it seems.

I don't think he was ever going to City. Pep is too smart to sign an old striker for a top PL club. IMO the City thing was made up (maybe there was contact to make it seem real). Then, SAF and Utd office fell for it and signed him in a panic.

With ETH in control, I'm hoping that was the last of our really bad signings that we have done in the past 10 years.
City have played clever games with us, they wanted Fred (apparently) so we went and signed him. They wanted Harry Maguire (apparently) we went and signed him. They wanted Ronaldo (apparently) we went and signed him. Great work Pep.

Im not even going to waste my time watching it. Two odious pricks.
Piers Morgan is a lower lifeform than a steaming pile of dog turd in the street. He’s jumped on this opportunity to stroke Ronaldos ego, to try and make himself relevant. Too bad everyone thinks you’re a humanoid slug, Piers.

As for Ronaldo, you really shouldn’t have listened to Piers. You just put the final nail in the coffin.

I have to ask myself why would he do this? The only reason I can think of is that he wants to force United to buy out his contract so he can play elsewhere in January but still get paid United wages.

Otherwise, if he wanted to go in January we would have let him go but the new club would have to pay his wages and they would probably be lower.

I'm not sure exactly what his wages are or the difference between what we pay and what he would get elsewhere but I would guess around 250k / week difference. 26 weeks from January to June. He's just decided that being paid 6.5 million pounds is worth more to him than his relationship with the club and his fans.

I don't know why so many United fans still hold him in their hearts. He gave his best years to Madrid not United. And even in Madrid they don't seem to hold him in the same esteem as past greats like Zidane and the original Ronaldo. I wonder why.....

He must already have a club lined up for January? Surely you wouldn't do an interview like that if you didn't know you were leaving?

A tv studio? That looks like a house to me. Probably Ronaldo’s house but I can’t say that for certain.

The obvious answer to what illness can cause you to be unable to perform but able to give a long form interview that can be edited is diarrhoea. Throwing up regularly also fits.
Funny but no one with diarrhea is willingly getting into a car to go anywhere.

Very odd move...I see no upside in him doing this as it would make another team even less less likely to want him in Jan. He must have too insular a circle around him to think this was at all a good idea...or hes so narcissistic it didn't matter.

ETH has been insanely gracious publicly dealing with his childish behavior. He deserved worse, so criticizing him is just mad.

I've personally given Ronaldo a bunch of slack this season...but I'm done. I can't imagine many fans still clinging to any hope he can help the team on any level. He's fully delusional at this point...

How much can we legally fine him for this behavior? Can we suspend him indefinitely without pay - or would that be the same as terminating his contract?
The multi million dollar question. I'd love to see his contract terminated for cause so that he doesn't get another dime but that would probably lead to messy litigation. Practically I'd like to see him gone as soon as possible - negotiate a 2 month severance with the threat of going thru with the litigation and get him the feck out of here.

Is there a point making that kind of statement?
Probably gets the hits up on the social media traffic. Plenty of 'what has the club said?' clicks for a bland, generic statement.

He shouldn't get s-t. The most Ronaldo should be hoping for is a free transfer. No way should United pay him severance. Make him come to training and do the job he's contractually obligated to do. If he doesn't want to he can go on strike and then the club has grounds to terminate, without payment, for breaking terms.

I’m just curious to know what will be going through the heads of players like Dalot, Garnacho, Antony and to a lesser extent Bruno & Casemiro. These guys obviously all admire him - particularly the younger ones with Dalot even saying recently that Ronaldo is his best friend in football. Will they be as shocked as we are or would they have already been aware he feels like this? Which would make it even more confusing as they have continued to admire him despite everything in recent months. And I somehow doubt they wouldn’t have know about how Ronaldo feels behind the scenes.
Garnacho has one less goal than Ronaldo this season. He knows his idol is retired
I can’t go back and read 57 pages of posts, but I’m pretty sure 99% of the posts here condemn these remarks by Ronaldo
Yes, and the other 1% are Rio, Keane and Patrice.

He’s not said a thing in the last 3-4 months. His behaviour has been poor, but this is the first time he’s spoken in public about the situation. Bit stupid if you are really struggling to see why there is an uproar.
I think its stupid to not see what his motives are for releasing this interview at this stage.

Its precisely to create an upgroar and reaction from the fans and make his continued stay at this club impossible.

Playing you lot like putty.

He had mentally checked out months ago and his disrespect towards the club was far worse by not coming on or leaving matches early.

Him claiming in an interview that Ten Hag has disrespected him hence he has no respect in return shouldn't be something to be angry about. The pundits (aka his friends) have been harking this line for weeks now. If thats how he feels then so be it.

Again, READ BETWEEN THE LINES. I'm not trying to defend him, I just hope he gets the feck out of this club immediately and it should have been done far sooner.

Roy Keane:

“I think Man United are just showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should have been let go before the transfer window. I think the manager is holding on to him. Okay, you say you need options, but you don’t hold on to Ronaldo to sit on the bench. He’s one of the greatest players ever.

“He had options. This idea that he had no options is rubbish; he did have options, four or five very good options. It’s just going to get uglier as the season goes on.''
Louis Saha:

“When Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo first met in pre-season, Cristiano asked to leave the club, so for him to stay, he would have wanted guarantees that he was going to play and be a big part of the squad.

“He missed pre-season and his form has potentially let him down a little bit, with one or two chances hitting the post and things like that, but this player is not a normal player. What he’s done over the years and for the club, I do believe at times, he has been disrespected.
Patrice Evra:

'One interview from Ten Hag after the game against Manchester City and why he didn’t bring him on was because he respected his character.

'If he respected his character, he would surely have to play him and play him every time.'

Dude is talking 100% facts don’t know why people are so mad over hearing the truth.
He is trying to undermine the manager, he is not telling everything because he cares about United

Ronaldo is the biggest manchild in the history of Football.

Uses his sister Instagram account to like a post complaining about his teammate (Modric) winning Balloon D'Or, likes a post discrediting Messi Balloon D'Or, and doesn't celebrate goals that he doesn't score, even in big games like a UCL final, imagine not celebrating your teammate (Bale) scoring a screamer in a UCL final because you wanted to score that goal yourself... what a crybaby.

And last, sends a txt message to Rio asking why Gary Neville thinks Messi is better than him.

He only cares about him, it has always been like that, now is more obvious cause he is useless on the pitch so everything about him is just whining not scoring.

If any top club really had thought of signing him in January I think now they definitely won't. Ronaldo's career is officially over. Qatar, MLS or something like that is everything he has left. Which is basically semi retirement.

He obviously wants out so he can play else where in jan but I'd be tempted to fine him massively and put him in the u21s to see out his contract. Not even be allowed in the main dressing room, number given to someone else too, petty I know but would serve him right.

Fingers crossed the club finally stop acting like Ronaldo's bottom whores. There has simply been one too many incident for us to keep indulging this guy. It's frankly beyond pathetic how we clung to this guy despite the obvious fact he's used us and has only cared about himself.

Yes I think comparing yourself as a highly paid professional footballer to slavery is far worse than saying the manager disrespected him hence he doesn't respect the manager.

You really need to think about what you're trying to say here. Its mental you would think otherwise.

I think you're letting the euphoria surrounding this interview get to your head a little.

Listening to Piers Morgan on TalkSPORT reminds me what a piece of shit he is.

Isn’t he a supporter of Donald Trump?

Even more well played Pep. Maybe now we will not fall for this rubbish. Just let the manager sign who he wants and not worry about City.
All of these players were wanted by the manager. We need to stop that kind of weird narrative.
