Cristiano Ronaldo: Set to leave by mutual agreement

Is Ronaldo justified to say that he “feels betrayed” by Manchester United?

Didn't Mourinho pretty much say the same thing about Ronaldo? That was absolutely unwilling to listen to any feedback or suggestions for improvement?
Interesting to think about -- aside from Sir Alex during his formative years, were there any 'tactical' coaches Ronaldo played and enjoyed his time under? Ancelotti, Pirlo, Ole, Zidane are the man-management types who probably indulged him. Mourinho, ten Hag, Sarri, and Rangnick all had issues with him as you'd imagine wanted him to do certain things from a constructive perspective.

What in the seven hells. In what world is he expecting to get support for these statements? He’s just burning bridges while looking extremely bad.

I think its stupid to not see what his motives are for releasing this interview at this stage.

Its precisely to create an upgroar and reaction from the fans and make his continued stay at this club impossible.

Playing you lot like putty.

He had mentally checked out months ago and his disrespect towards the club was far worse by not coming on or leaving matches early.

Him claiming in an interview that Ten Hag has disrespected him hence he has no respect in return shouldn't be something to be angry about. The pundits (aka his friends) have been harking this line for weeks now. If thats how he feels then so be it.

Again, READ BETWEEN THE LINES. I'm not trying to defend him, I just hope he gets the feck out of this club immediately and it should have been done far sooner.

All true. This is an obvious ploy to get out of United.

Personally I'm not fussed. I just don't want to see United paying him off. Give him a free transfer, its what he wants. However, no compensation. If he doesn't like those terms he can take the Winston Bogarde approach to fulfilling his contract.

Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.

United waiting for Wednesday it seems.
Geez, just suspend him without wages until further notice already.

Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
No. I wouldn’t be surprised. He wasn’t ill when he did that interview. And like I said - look up Chris Evans bring sacked from his multi-million contract:

“Evans, 35, was sacked for breach of contract after failing to turn up for work on his breakfast show six days in a row. He told Virgin he was ill, but he was seen drinking in pubs near his home with his young wife, the 19-year-old singer Billie Piper.”

Maybe he had diarrhoea too.
There is also the massive difference that Evans could do his job with such an illness, and as mentioned, he went to the pub not sitting on a couch talking.
Funny but no one with diarrhea is willingly getting into a car to go anywhere.
Oh I know. But that interview looks like it’s being performed in a home to me, and in all likelihood Ronaldo’s himself. It’s a moot point really, my only issue is with those stating for a fact that there’s a fake illness when there’s zero proof of that

Yes I think comparing yourself as a highly paid professional footballer to slavery is far worse than saying the manager disrespeted him hence he doesn't respect the manager.

You really need to think about what you're trying to say here. Its mental you would think otherwise.

I think you're letting the euphoria surrounding this interview get to your head a little.
I believe that you are the one not thinking. The comparison while extremely silly was from Blatter and based on the idea that Ronaldo was denied a move. It's just a silly hyperbole which is a figure of speech, saying that you do not respect your manager is not a figure of speech.

I have no idea either, yet.

What are you talking about?

Should United fans just not react to him pissing on the club and manager? People don't like him and are expressing that. It's that simple.

There are no lines to read between. People laughing at twat being a twat.

Good lord..

Ill leave this here for you and just chalk it down to a bad memory. Give your head a wobble lad.

Blatter, an honorary member of Real Madrid with close ties to the club's president, Ramón Calderón, had described himself as "very much in sympathy" with Ronaldo and urged United to allow him to leave, suggesting it was otherwise tantamount to slavery. "I agree with what he said," said Ronaldo, when that last point was put to him

Morally yes, but not in today's media landscape.

He had to stay as he gave us very little notice he wanted to go in the summer so didn't give us enough time to sell him and get a replacement. If he wasn't happy say at the end of last season.

Club statement. Basically saying we are going to fire him if this interview is as bad as expected.

https://www.manutd.com/en/news/deta...cial-statement-on-cristiano-ronaldo-interview
Certainly comes across that way, though firing him could be messy legally. Imagine it may be similar to Aubamayang's situation at Arsenal where he trains alone and does interact with any of the players at Carrington until we sell him or terminate his contract by mutual consent.

A narcissist displaying narcissistic behaviour, are we surprised?

There is zero point to this interview other than to defect the blame of his faltering powers onto anyone/anything other than himself. It's a desperate attempt to convince the world that he's not the one falling apart, it's the the club.

Once a truly great player but he's always been a prize cock!

As I said before, far past the stage of anger.

Everybody with half a brain saw this coming.

He tried to force a way out in the summer. Now he is forcing a way out in January and is using any means necessary.

Goodness..

We've literally had months of media coverage on Qatar migrant workers being the modern day slavery.

Some of you lot are really twisted up and have the blinders on today over this interview.

So, where will he be forcing a move to in Jan? My understanding is that no other club is interested plus Sporting flopped in the CL.

The multi million dollar question. I'd love to see his contract terminated for cause so that he doesn't get another dime but that would probably lead to messy litigation. Practically I'd like to see him gone as soon as possible - negotiate a 2 month severance with the threat of going thru with the litigation and get him the feck out of here.
I would love it if we are somehow legally allowed to suspend him without pay until february 1st, and terminate the contract from that date. Meaning he'll get 0 pounds from us until then - and that he'll be without a club for the rest of the season afterwards. Not sure how it would/could work - but we should at least try.

Andrei Kanchelskis made me fall in love with Unite
God, just tired of the circus. Get him out the door, close the chapter and we can move on. One of the greatest ever players, blah blah blah - now he's just a major irritation and sideshow from what we're actually trying to do as a team - to progress. The timing of his childish stunts shows the level of disregard he has for his teammates and the fans. Against Spurs - we're playing the best football in years - makes it all about him. We score a 93rd minute winner against Fulham, fans are elated - makes it all about him. In both situations his actions were unnecessary and badly timed.

Bye bye, Ronaldo.

Ronaldo didn't feature in the last two games because of some "illness" i presume the real reason is because of this known interview and suspended again?

Garnacho goal celebrations was interesting also. Against Sociedad he copied Ronaldos celebration and yesterday it was a copy of Messi holding up his shirt..
