True.

I'm more concerned with the motm awards, terrible choices, how KDB and Ronaldo won motm for their 2 performances I have no idea. It's like they're just giving it to the biggest names.
Modric was just as bad a choice. Big names all three.

HOW DOES MAN OF THE MATCH WORK AT THE WORLD CUP?
The Budweiser Player of the Match trophy is awarded by the public on the FIFA+ website. Between the 60th and 88th minute of every World Cup game there is the opportunity for anyone around the world to submit their vote.
Players are sorted in a list by minutes played, or alternatively voters can filter the results by team, position or by simply searching for the Player of the Match.
The rule it is maximum one entry per person, per World Cup match.
Anyone of legal age can participate in the contest provided they are registered, whether or not they are watching the match in question.

It’s weird the way Nederland launch attacks with DeJong starting all the way back between their CBs. It’s like they have to go through an additional bank of defenders. If they used a CAM as their playmaker, after the first or second successful pass, they’d be in. Here, they pass in triangles and are still facing 10.

Don't The Netherlands have anyone on their bench who can come on and make a difference?

Prolonged dry spell of dutch talent is shocking. Same with Germnay and Italy. Seems these giants are in perpetual transition state.
Italy literally just won the Euros. Germany have one of the best young players in the world in Musiala. People are very reactionist on here. Probably moreso down to other nations starting to develop more talent than they had previously.

I remember when people wanted Koopmeiners. Seems really disappointing from what I’ve seen of him.

What happened to the talent in Netherlands? How did they go from a nation that produced the likes of RVP, robben, sneidjer, kliivert, overmars, stam, etc to this current crop of let's be honest very average players
Bad bunch. Also a lot of talented young players destroyed their careers by going to foreign clubs at a way too young age. Those players missed a lot of playtime at an okayish senior level like the Eredivisie and didnt develop very well. Someone like Chongs development would have been better served with coming from Feyenoord youth and getting Eredivisie gametime instead of Manchester United youth team and loans

Is the assistent for real?
The "absurd" instruction is "In the event of a clear goal scoring opportunity, wait for the action to play out, and only raise the flag afterwards" Normally they should only follow that when the offside seems somewhat doubtful...

No, he's just cack in the national team.
After a few games he really settled well into Bayern and had good performances.
Definitely should be better than Ake who hardly gets a game at City. Don't know about this Timber guy. But de Ligt's positional awareness is so much better.

Hopefully there's 10 mins added on so Netherlands can get an "underserved" goal

Other than the goal Gakpo has been terrible.

Every game I see of him he ends up on the score sheet but has a terrible performance (granted I haven't seen a lot of him). Any Dutch fans here that watch him regularly ? Is this a normal performance or did he have an off day ?

Italy wining last Euro is nothing different than Greece winning 2004 Euro. It wasn't on solid foundation of talent for long term success that a generation can dominate for 7-8 years. It was no surprise Italy failed to qualify the wc. Same with Germany being poor for very long time. Every now and then we hear hype of this or that is next great talent. Turns out nothing great in long term.
