Rooney was completely finished by 30 as were many footballers in the 20th century. Each player has a different age where they are past their prime. We've just gotten used to players lasting longer due to how much better sport science, diet and player commitment to looking after themselves is nowadays. Hazard and Bale are examples of modern players who declined early, whatever the reasons for that are. Hazard's been terrible since he moved to Real and that isn't debatable.
