Nice stuff from England after we stopped fearing the worst. They aren't very good, we just have to play and should cut them open easily.

Senegal aren’t anything special they’re making Henderson look good

Mendy looks like any keeper from the local league. How much did Chelsea pay for him again?
Was worth it for the first 18 months he had. Was one of the best in the world until midway through last season. Been terrible since

Senegal have shit the bed since the first goal. Can’t see them turning it round in the 2nd half.
They won't. Anyone thinking that they could really beat England needs their head checked.

Shite defense and utterly naive.

Looks like an easy win for England now. Senegal didn't make their period of dominance count, England did. That difference in quality can only be overcome with great organization, which Senegal do not have. Hope Rashford comes on to score.

Hes a liability that Keeper.

Senegal are very poor. Big gap in quality

This could get ugly for them
It’s strange. He was easily the best keeper in the World when we won the CL. But since then he has completely nose dived off into orbit.

I'll be honest if we are only talking about this game, I don't see where the praises for Bellingham are coming from. England's midfield has struggled badly for the most part, Bellingham included.

Senegal comfortably the better team. England goal against run of play but since then Senegal have been on the ropes

Shame, it was shaping up to be an interesting game
Have to agree. However, you could argue that at the end it is goals that count even against run of play. England has to do much better if they want to beat France.

Can anyone tell me why African teams are usually described as 'awkward to play against', by the English commentary and narrative? It's not the first time I've heard this.

Do they not use formations, tactics and communicate in language as other teams do? They do have extra limbs? An extra eye? What exactly is it?
That's just commentator speak for " I havent a clue about this team, couldnt be arsed doing any research and I didnt get a gig for the African nations cos its shite"

I imagine it started with them not really being a known entity back 30 years plus ago when scouting/coverage wasn’t what it is now so you never really knew what you were coming up against until the game got going.

Doesn’t really work for Senegal in 2022 mind, when we know how they’ll play and just know it’ll be a tough game.

senegal are absolute clowns at the back. Opened up like a $2 whore.

This is easy. Right from the start we dominated.

Rest the players for france.

On the flip side, England made one tactical change and completely changed the game. That's not great if you're Senegal.

I feel bad for the Senegal manager. He had them set up perfectly to nullify England's midfield and Senegal were threatening on the counter and really should have been winning. Then as soon as Senegal conceded the 1st goal, they started panicking, completely lost their shape and the defence in particular just started leaving huge gaps for the English attack to exploit. Even if they fix their shape for 2nd half, 2 goals is probably going to be too much to ask.

Senegal are done. Easy win for England. France is a different beast though. If Walker plays like today against Mbappe it could get brutal.

And they wonder why no one cares about African cup. The champions of Africa are so poor, that a lacklustre England side is toying with them.

Fantastic performance. Only thing I’ll say, England are to reliant on that left side combo and completely ignore the right side. Assuming we go through, France will find a way to stop that.
This.We are sterile in the right, so far. Saka not at his best. Think Rashford needs to come on there.
