You could say the same about Kane. One shot which was right at Mendy who inexplicably dived out the way of it and its back to him being best in the world. Never misses. England saviour. blah blah blah.
He has had a poor tournament yet is undroppable.
France 98 was very good, and Zidane was good against Italy and Croatia, Thuram took all the highlights against Croatia cause he scored the goala, but Zidane definitely was very good against Croatia.
They were a very good balanced team with quality all over the pitch... bar the strikers Guivarch and Dugarry, Giroud is clearly much better than those 2.
France 2000 was even better, and much more offensive.
And besides, nobody cares about being the best team ever winning the WC, France 82 and 86 was amazing and a very pragmatic Germany knocked them out...twice.

France is clearly the toughest one. First of three games to go. It's football, winning three consecutive games isn't outlandish, regardless of who you face.

England can’t start against France like they started the game tonight or they will get thumped. Play like they have since they scored and they have a chance but I would really worry about Maguire, he’s been sloppy as feck tonight and seriously tumescent.
Poland looked really good against France. They should have scored first even.

How Kane can be criticised for this one is beyond me. I'm no admirer of his average performance level for England but he's been the focal point today. Holding it, dropping deep, creating, scoring. What else can he do?
No, not at all. In terms of talent in their prime England have as much as anyone right now, just as a style match up, if Spain get that far they are the type of team England will struggle against.
Question is whether southgate will give france so much respect that he reverts back to a back 3 ?

France were poor but Senegal was literally the better side by a mile until England switched tactics. France wouldn't be as complacent against England as they were with Poland
