Feel sorry for Spain but I started to detect the cracks emerging last week, after they lost to Japan. Henrique seemed incredibly wound up during a Q&A press conference last night too.

If we can beat France, I fancy us to get to the final. Come on you lionssss
France is different level. I don't see that anybody can beat them. But England and Brasil only two who can scrape a win there

love it - hate their type of boring football. Well done BONO and a magnificent team performance.

Screw Enrique, thought he was too smart, lost being arrogant against Japan and his sub for the first peno failed miserably.

Won't be easy for Portugal or Switzerland.

Spain out three times in a row on pens. Probably should try more to win during the 90 mins
They should have started the game the way they finished it in extra time. All that sustained attacks would have paid off I'm sure in the end. Too cautious for nearly 90 mins with all the talent they have..

This focus on pass and move football drives me nuts. They are so feckin good at it as well so it’s basica

lly pointless for teams to go higher and put pressure on them, unless it’s a top quality side. Just kills all the fun in football.
Route one into the box football would have created way more chances for Spain.

Makes the quarter very interesting. Can see any of the Morocco/Portugal/Switzerland winning.

Portugal heard the rumours of Southgate apparently having too many easy runs to the deep end of tournaments....

Now we need that egotistical twat Ronaldo to go out too. Would love to see him cry one more time before he leaves to Saudi Arabia.

Spain should focus on producing some goalscoring forwards instead of so many technical midfielders.

They missed a Torres/Villa so much in this game.
It's not easy in the Iberian peninsula. See Portugal as well

Well done, Morocco!

it’s incredibly difficult to pass your way through a massed defence. Only when Nico Williams came on did Spain start to penetrate the backline.

Yesterday, I watched the worst penalties I had ever seen. I didn't expect that record to hold just 1 day.

Not to get on them, but having more possession in a game doesn't make you Xavi. There's far more to a game than knowing how to retain possession yourself. Neither Pedri or Gavi have dictated the tempo of any game, yet people see them having the ball and assume their doing what Xavi was doing. People comparing them with a young Fabregas

The commentator said that Spain's players practiced their pens a lot. However, you cannot recreate this moment in training. No one can prepare you for the pressure in this scenario.

In the end Morocco had the right tactics, Bore everyone with all the defending and then get into the next round by winning their pen shootout
What we saw from Spain is an absolute collapse in the penalty shootout. I don't recall a top team missing like that in a big game.

This is also the second game with one team having a nightmare shootout.

Portugal in semis if they beat Switzerland today

Santos would park the bus against Morocco, and that would feck all Morocco's plan of sitting and counter.
