I'm not laughing at England, as a French fan, they really outplayed us and it's cruel to see them go out this way, but again....couldn't be happier it worked out this way, but this was not what I would consider a deserved win. England will win an international trophy soon, I definitely feel they are closer than they've ever been since I've been aware of international football.

Lost respect for him? What did he do wrong?

Celebrated following the missed penalty. Would every England player not have reacted in a similar fashion?

Apart from winning penalties, England didn't do much all game either.
Considering he flopped from the spot and let his country down himself you’d think he’d have more empathy and professionalism.

The salt in this thread
And some of you wonder why foreigners love to see England fail.
Hint: it's never about football team

Good post and well done. Enjoy the rest of the tournament and don’t get Varane injured!

I just find it funny that we are an English club and so many Manchester United supporters dislike our English players???
I like the foreign players that play for us but when they play internationals I like to see the underdog win as I am a neutral and that is what neutral fans do.

There’s definitely an element of prejudice involved with a certain few. But yeah it’s strange.

If you don’t like English people to that extent then what are you doing on a Manchester United forum.

England were brilliant today, unlucky to go out.

Giroud was lucky to get anything on the ball. Little wonder Maguire got the last touch.

Whoever did this...real classy to pick on the lad. Congrats. I guess you made a meme of Saka after he missed the peno in the Euro final.

Agreed. And better than against Germany in Euro 2020. That’s football though.
Yea - they gave a good account of themselves. I think a better midfielder instead of Henderson and it might’ve made a difference.
Actually way better. This is probably the best performance against a big nation in a competitive match since France in 2004...England lost that game 2-1 as well but were by far the superior team that day. Weird parallel actually as Becks missed a pen and France were pretty much bossed. Zidane won it for them.
Oh yea - Zidane scored both goals in stoppage time iirc. Free kick and penalty from the maestro.

England played better tonight than they did in the final vs Italy and the SF vs Croatia.
Yups. As a team I think they were the better one out there and thought they would come through.

Unfortunately, the French were onto something conceding penalties left, right and centre. A penalty has a very low xG when it comes to England.

Never used the term before, maybe it's not the right way to use it, but you get my point. I can't be the only one that didn't expect Kane to score that.

England were good tonight but so were France - they did look dangerous each time they broke forward.

On Kane specifically - I would have put my house on him scoring. Kane scoring penalties in the World Cup is a certainty (…or was).

That the game where Zidane threw up before the penalty?

Came for the laughs, left with English lessons.

Anyway, I was born in an English colony and now live in one. I speak English everyday and I support an English football club. I think the arrogance of 2018 was the start of my dislike of them, but deep down I think if they manage to get rid of Southgate I'd support them at the next tournament (behind Germany anyway who are my favorite European football team). I just can't place it but Southgate gets on my nerves the way he looks, acts and talks - comes off as very fake to me.

Apologies if I distracted you from your rant about black players in the French team.
Nah. Expected the French to twat England anyway, esp with that kind of a team. By the way do share your Saka meme of him crying after the peno miss. Picking on kids is your forte ain't it?

I don't think I've ever seen a dude puke and then immediately unleash an unstoppable penalty right after. Had an Any Given Sunday vibes to it.

Brexit, they said.
But Bellingham want to play in Bernabeu with lahoz.
Crazy nights ahead.
Meanwhile Kane is shooting ducks in Ireland.
