Made no sense for us with the options we currently have. I was hoping he didn't end up at Liverpool that looks like the perfect team for his skills.

i'm not bothered by him going to Liverpool for 45m....and if Arsenal have gone in for €65m bid for Shakhtar winger Mykhailo Mudryk that would probably leave them out of the Felix equation

what this will also do is force ETH and United to bring in a player during the january window as you can't allow Arsenal and Liverpool to strengthen their attack and do nothing. You know Chelsea will make a move or two as well.

Ya those Liverpool deals were equally as bad for sure.

Rashford would play a park at Newcastle sorry I forget they are in the top 4 but I’m not sure he’s better any of the guys at Arsenal or Chelsea or spurs.
Rashford bagged two goals against Arsenal this season and they currently don’t have Jesus.

Chelsea have Aubamayang, Sterling, Ziyech and Pulisic. Really no part?

Come on think a bit. You don’t rate him that’s cool but there’s no need to follow that up with extreme nonsense to fish for a reaction.

Anyway I’ll not derail this anymore.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Well its multiple from the Athletic. Whitwell on the article and also on their podcast hes been mentioned as a big interest by Mitten/Crafton etc. too. And then yeah Romano on top.
Everything Whitwell has said on the podcast has been about how ETH is known to be a fan and he was wanted in the summer before signing Antony - nothing about us wanting him in January - just guessing we could revisit.

Its worrying that Liverpool have Diaz and Jota out and have acted competently to get someone in. Ronaldo's been gone for a month and in my mind it doesnt seem like we have a clue what we are gonna do.

This signing for them could see them get Top 4 while we miss out.

Rashford is very much in form, Garnacho has come through and been a breath of fresh air whilst ETH is doing with Sancho what he did with Rashford so we’d have three players all wanting to play on the left and all best there so why would we need to spend on Gakpo when we NEED a centre forward ?

I’m sure Gakpo will turn out decent although I don’t think he’s better than Jota or Diaz once they’re both back but he isn’t what we need and I think it’s just been lazy journalism because Gakpo was our back up choice to Antony whilst also sharing the same agent as ETH.

I think Osimhen would be a much better fit for what we need
I've wanted us to get a strong, fast centre forward for a long time. I don't think we've had a physical presence since Van Nistelrooy. Obviously Zlatan was great for a couple of seasons but why we don't go a player with CF attributes in their 20s is beyond me.

A year ago before his injury even a player like Calvert Lewin would bring something different that we need.

Ohsimen is the obvious one at the moment but with a global scouting network you'd think we could identify a centre forward younger than 26 years old.

I cannot stand a second more of Glazers running our club into the ground.

So fecking frustrated right now and absolutely shocked
Same. I just want their mansion (or whatever resort they live in) in Tampa to burn to the fecking ground as a symbol of our wrath.

People say that we need a striker, but I hope they don't forget that 1) there is a worldwide shortage of quality in strikers at the moment and 2) thus the few good ones left will be overpriced regardless. Going for the experiment of converting Gakpo into a full-time striker like Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie did would have been better business for us down the road at such price.

I’m not using a purple patch to judge him on. I’m going on the last couple years of absolutely nothing he produced.

But yes let’s not derail, you already have your opinion of me.

- I’m trolling
- Rashford is great
- Gakpo sucks

Ok let’s move on, see you in another thread l. I’ll try not to praise your rivals anymore.

Gakpo isn't even close to what we need up front. Howard Nurse being ITK before all the rest of the social media darlings is reassuring though. Twitter is such as swamp of bullshit. Not just for football but in general.

Are people saying we have enough options genuinely forgetting we have 2 games a week for the foreseeable and we literally have no free slots to schedule our delayed PL games if we don't get kicked out of the cups. This is not FIFA

Not sold on Felix, think he'll be a flop in the Premier League so personally hoping we don't. I don't think we will agree to Atleticos demands anyway.
We don't need 2022's Samaras. We need a strong and fast centre forward. I really think Felix would be another expensive mistake in the Premier League.

Absolutely baffled why anyone outraged here.

If we were in Liverpool position and bought him everyone would be saying he a panic buy.

Fans expecting us to buy him, when we just got Anthony, have a on fire rashford playing, have garnacho breaking thru,.......and have a 80mil player there in Sancho who shown more than Geskpo every shown at any stage of their careers.

Strange people are upset about it

Let’s just sign whoever we can then. That’ll do it

We have no striker (except Tony who gets injured more than he is fit).

Not sure if we missed out on him or not, conflicting reports. Personally, not too bothered.

However, i hope we have someone lined up. Hopefully Felix

@Adnan Interesting insight this mate, one of Court, Mayorga & Wells first January impacts, presumably ETH was in favour of signing if the money was there, with our interest from last summer.
Keeping an eye out for bits like this about our new scouting teams impact making it to journalists like this, wonder if we are eyeing a Felix w/ loan fee or something more leftfield as we do seem to need a quality body to finish well this season.

Whitwell I think gave an article online where he had the priorities set and mentioned how Gakpos agent was in Carrington a lot recently.

What hurts is the reaction ETH gave when asked about Gakpo at the presser. The smile, even a grin! Clearly this was a player he wanted more than others and, worryingly, a player he clearly thought he would get.

Excellent. Good player but if we need a striker then lets buy a striker. Not another inside forward

Gakpo’s agent is ETHs agent…
Thats mentioned by Whitwell too, but doesn't really change the fact that he was touted as a big interest that wel visit in January by Athletic.

Geskpo is not a striker, might develop into one, but baffling anyone be thinking he can slot into us now as the main man.

Feeling all this hype and outrage strange to be honest

Yes. Based on the summer. And us looking for a Ronaldo replacement. Nothing else. It was all pure conjecture.
Yeah you're right based on today's articlr

Gakpo’s best position is left wing, although he has been starting through the middle for the Netherlands in Qatar. The uncertainty over Sancho means flexible players will be especially useful.

In the summer, PSV Eindhoven intimated that a €50million bid would be required on Gakpo, a fee protected by his contract running to the summer of 2026. PSV are also aiming to win the Eredivisie title for the first time in five years and believe Gakpo is central to that goal. There are suggestions they need to sell, though, so there may be room for manoeuvre.

Ten Hag is with the same agency as Gakpo. The Athletic has been told Murtough met with Kees Vos, CEO of SEG agency, at Carrington in the last fortnight. Voss is a regular at Old Trafford and the pair see each other regularly.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, his PSV counterpart and a former United hero who himself swapped the Dutch club for Old Trafford 21 years ago, said last week: “If I have the choice, I prefer (he leaves in) the summer, but it can also be now. You know there comes a time when you can’t say no.”

Whatever money is spent will come out of the summer budget and Ten Hag must decide, in conjunction with Murtough and Joel Glazer, whether that is the right call.

United could opt for a lower-cost, more experience d striker.

I warned of our dithering over him in the Newbies section. The guy's numbers trumped Antony's my a mile in a lesser side in the same league at a fraction of the price and can play across forward positions. We have been caught with our trousers down again in a transfer

Numbers are irrelevant. Antony plays in a position we needed a player, Gakpo doesn’t.

Its not been a great start for Ten Hag. He wanted Darwin Nunez, the club kept Ronaldo. He wanted Timber, he ended up with Martinez. He wanted de Jong, he got Casemiro. He wanted Gakpo in the summer, as well as Antony, the club dithered and pissed about and paid over the odds for Antony so couldnt get Gakpo. Now Gakpo has gone too.

Its 2nd and 3rd choices all over again and its fecking annoying.
