The crowds are a joke now and the PDC only have themselves to blame. Gone are the days when they were actually there to watch the darts.

These were the glory years. Great atmosphere, whole crowd glued to the action on stage and most importantly respectful while the players are throwing.

Price cheers to get in the opponents head, plenty of other do that as well. Difference is Price fave it back to the fans while others didn’t.
Exactly. MvG really started the gurning and over celebrating but he didn't involve the crowd in it.

Funny how everyone else apart from Price gets along with the crowds. There is a reason people dislike him and he showed what that reason is again tonight. Just look at those ridiculous celebrations after he came out with the earphones after hitting that 180 and winning the first leg of a set where he holds the throw. No emotion, its solely to get into the opponents head, people realise that and dislike him because of that. Luckily, Clemens didnt give a feck about those shenanigans tonight, incredible performance from him that shouldnt be overshadowd by the earphone incident. His scoring power was amazing and if Smith doesnt up his game tomorrow, Clemens can give him a run for his money as well.

Darts in the 80s was like attending a lecture. All you can hear is respect

I went to the Circus Tavern and you could actually see the board well and the venue is an arse to get to, so the footy fans weren't there.
There was a fight on the night I went, so people were still pissed and lairy, they just didn't chant or boo.

The afternnon QFs were the last matches I can watch live and the PDC website gave a measly 18.5 min highlights vid of the evening session. So the drama of the Clemens-Price match condensed into 9 minutes.

Brilliant from Clemens and normally I'd have zero sympathy for Price, but the crowd is fecking annoying. Not seen it get to him like that since his early days though- guess he was feeling it more with his game being a bit off.

To be honest there was very little drama between Clemens and Price. Clemens was simply better, Price was worse (after a good start) and that was all - except the ear protection stuff, but that's also just a short laugh.

So tonight's two semi-finals what's everyone's thoughts or verdicts?
Expect MVG to go through comfortably and win the whole thing as well.

In the second one I can´t be unbiased, I hope Clemens repeats his performance from yesterday, then he has a good chance of beating Smith.

Fair enough. It is weird to see Price crash out like that. He is normally a decent big game player.

Is this year's tournament running later cos they added more first round games in? The final last year was 3 Jan and we're only on the semis this year.

They are playing every day, so today will be the semifinals and tomorrow on 3 Jan will be the final, same as last year.

Obviously rooting for Dimi tonight but can't see past MVG unfortunately.

Hopefully it's Smith that goes through in the other semi, wouldn't begrudge either one of him and MVG a(nother) world title. Losing two in a row would be grim for Smith though.

The schedule is absolute sh1te.

Love the fact that most of it takes place over Christmas but they seem determined to always stick the final when the holidays are over and people are heading back to work.
Would be much better if they just scheduled it so the final was 30th December, great way to end the year.

Not sure why, but I’ve always felt like this makes it a bit less enjoyable.

Sure I remember the final used to be on New Year's Day - that was much better.

Two costly missers from Smith for the 2-0.

What's miserable about him today? Looks pretty good so far I think (but both do, so there is not much which actually happened)

Good standard this, never heard of Clemen before yesterday, apparently might be getting a Premier league invite?

Really want to see Smith win the whole thing, seems a good guy and don't like the bottler tag he has.

His play is fine but he does seem to be sulking a bit if he's not regularly throwing 140 or more tonight. Probably just disappointed about some missed chances, making this harder than it could be.

Not much in it so far, could still go either way.
