No, we scored a goal a couple of seasons ago where Dean Henderson launched the ball down the line (high up in the air) which turned into an assist. VAR had no camera angle showing the line so didn’t have a choice but to allow the goal, but from the bend on the ball it felt obvious that it must’ve been wide if the pitch.

Might have been against West Ham IIRC.
You’d think this would be the basic minimum requirement for it. It’s bullshit.

That the first time that has ever happened? Dodgy.
Was talking with some Arsenal fans, and they said it's happen to them twice.

Martinelli v Liverpool - they didn't know where Saka was.
and Martinelli v Brighton, which was chalked off.

but it's still a deliberate play, which makes it onside
On the other hand, “interfering with an opponent” from an offside position is an offside offence, so if you interfere with his decision making by virtue of being offside (or force him into a deliberate, but poor, clearance), then surely you’ve interferes with an opponent, therefore making you offside. If the offside player isn’t there, the player doesn’t make a rushed clearance and thus his decision has been affected by the offside standing player’s position.

It was the same last night with Coady being offside for their goal and Varane making a poor clearance because he panicked knowing he had an attacker behind him.

Apparantly the dude taking the corner was offside when they headed it back to him, but he was the in view of the camera.

Still think Gakpo lacks the intensity for the premier league even if his first touch and dribbling are pretty.

Did it even come off a Wolves head when it came back to him? Would be odd for that to happen

Great point tbf  I can’t explain why they’re separate

edit: just watched it back and it’s a wolves head it comes off.
Yeah you're right last touch off the Wolves player.

It just seems bonkers that they can't even produce a wide view camera angle?

It's very fishy. ESPECIALLY with the Salah goal too.

I'm really happy I never got into refereeing games.

Couple of nice touches and dribbles but largely ineffective and anonymous.

The other replays are set to Jan 17th. If that happens with Liverpool replay too, they'll have that game in between Brighton (A) and Chelsea (H).
for Wolves it's between West Ham (H), Man City (A)

Well that was terrible…again. We could have Mbappe and Haaland up top and it wouldn’t make a difference because of how dysfunctional the team and midfield is now. Henderson looks finished and other players have dropped off. We’re awful in transition and with turnovers as well. Another game where the opposition could and should’ve scored a few more.

Either sign a midfielder in this window or write the season off completely (including top four).

Looking forward to seeing what Brighton will do to us next weekend.

Such a shame Wolves couldn't win it in the end, would mean Newcastle, Liverpool and (probably) Chelsea out as early as 3rd round, basically half of rivals knocked out. But after fighting and getting a draw at Anfield, Wolves should be up for it in replay.

What did you think of the refereeing decisions?

The third Wolves goal is a mystery to me. I can’t see an offside in there. There were one or two other questionable fouls given against Wolves players towards the end of the game.

Too early but you’ll say it anyway  He was ineffective, but he doesn’t strike me as a player who will come in and make a massive impact individually right away. He’ll need to get used to the league and to Liverpool’s system.

I think you’d prefer to go out then a reply away at Molenyux too. Especially with this fixture list.

Worst outcome possible really

Neither team will be trilled with replay definitely. Liverpool need points in the league and Brighton away is tough one. Chelsea don't look great and it'll be at Anfield but Liverpool don't look great either.

Funnily enough Klopp looks worried too. He’ll be happy with the fact everyone is talking about the dodgy decisions rather than how poor you look still. This Wolves team barely ever score yet they did and should have had three at Anfield. Hope it continues but think you’ll scrape Top4 again as luck is on your side. Probably be an Allison clearance that goes straight in in the 101st minute of the final game this time around the way rhings are going.

For a side with injury problems, European knockout games and a big gap to close for top four, it’s arguably worse than being knocked out. Especially when the replay is away.

Even ex Liverpool players Danny Murphy and Stephen Warnock are saying on Match of the Day that the two offside decisions were wrong.

They where Salahs is also offside by the rules it just the rules are open to interpretation. See Fake Johnsons VAR review tweets.

And the wolves goal has basically been proven onside by fan footage.

So basically Liverpool got favoured on every call.

If your thinking Nunes was offside your wrong, the fan footage proves Trent was playing him on

Fan footage is not VAR. The best view in the whole stadium for that offside was of the man paid thousands for that very reason, i.e. the linesman. He called it. VAR could not see that angle so went with the best view in the stadium - again the linesman. They didn't resort to a distorted angle from an incorrectly positioned fan.

If you thought the linesman was wrong then fair enough, mistakes can be made. But there is no REAL angle to prove he was wrong.
