Sky suggesting United have tracked Sabitzer since the summer and this is more opportunistic rather than totally random.
We were linked around the Rangnik days so the scouting team would be aware already as he was available on a free or little cost and chose to go to Bayern.

Interested to know where people rank him in the below section.

Best player first.

Bellingham, Enzo, De Jong, Eriksen, Sabitzer, Fred

Anyone think he's better than Eriksen as a starter in CM with Casemiro?
If he was any good why doesn't bayern play him?

Thats my first and foremost question.

Very sure our name is in it for clicks
In your defence, this is the first time I've seen this news today and I have the benefit of an afternoon's worth of hindsight but.... Heh.

"Panic buy" is an overly negative term in this context, as it implies a response driven by fear, lack of planning or some fault on the club's part.

When in this case we simply didn't need to sign a midfielder this January and could happily have waited until the summer. Then Eriksen got injured, which changed our needs. And we've responded with this deal.

It's a last minute deal because the need arose at the last minute, but there doesn't seem to be any particular sense of panic or fault involved.
But this complete sensibility doesn't make headlines and doesn't make us look like we've shat ourselves.

Jesus Christ I know we need bodies and i fully trust ETH but thats wild. Hate him with a passion and I'm always happy when he doesnt play in the NT. Absolute tosser that guy.

Still hope he turns out decent at least.

Well. At least its another body.

Is he even any good?
He's a Ander Herrera type player. Really good engine, works very hard but doesn't have amazing passing ability or vision like Eriksen does. Definitely a better footballer than McTominay and Fred though.

has to be really odd though for him to just pack up that quickly and jump on a move to another country to play football for only 3-4 months
You're right, he's a bit desperate: do not want.

I like my footballers to play hard to get...like FdJ (swoon)

Midfielder that played for Leipzeig and knocked us out of the CL a few years ago. Signed for Bayern when his contract ran down.

Everyone is excited because he's actually a quality player and will help soften the Eriksen blow.
I don't remember him in the Leipzig team but Olmo and that Hungarian lad stole the show most games I watched. What kind of midfielder is he?

To be fair, Eriksen has been struggling for a while, we needed this with or without him.

Sabitzer was talked about all summer as a player that fit the player profile for EtH as a mid until he signed Eriksen. Seems a quite logical move actually.

Impressive long range shooting from that video anyway. Looks to be a good technical player with energy as well. Really well played by us to get this guy in on such short notice from a big European rival.

I wouldn't be surprised if we buy him in the summer. That's magnificent business right there in the midst of Eriksen's injury.
It really is good business. Bayern really do know how to stockpile great players. I think this lad is built for the PL. He’s tough industrious and capable of playing a classy pass. Obviously long term these signings aren’t the best but we are making do quite well. We seem to be signing the right profile of mentality for the squad too.

Think Fred style energetic CM but with a bit more passing quality. He's a fantastic replacement on such short notice for Eriksen as he's going to provide way more legs in midfield.

Depends on the team we're facing, but he also gives us an extra option as an attacking midfielder if Bruno needs a rest which is nice.
