Such a poor half of football from us. Way too slow to the second ball. We are lucky to not be behind by the time Bruno got that chance. Wout has been so poor. The defenders move the ball way to slow. Midfield invisible apart from fouling and chasing shadows. Rashford and Sancho on the periphery

Can someone please tell me how Dalot got all the criticism from commentators for not doing better to stop the cross, but Harry got no fecking criticism at all for leaving his man in absolutely yards of space near the 6 yard box?

How?!! Just fecking how? Utterly immune from criticism.

People say we need to play to Weghorst’s ‘strengths’ to get the most out of him. But I’m still not entirely sure what these mythical so-called strengths are.

Weghorst, Fred and Maguire at the core of the team is fecking shocking

The squad has been obliterated after playing 3 games a week for what feels like months

There’s a massive difference without Casemiro. We look mid table when we don’t have him playing

Even if we do score in the second half, Leeds will probably equalize. Our best bet is to score in the 85th minute and hang on.

    Badly missing Casemiro in MF.

I laugh because it's one of the stupidest things anyone has ever written - the idea that the most productive PL player in a calendar year is a "terrible footballer" is moronic.

He should have done better with that chance, yes, and today hasn't been his best game, but your post was way over the top reactionary.

Weghorst off and when their press slows and we should win this.

you can see why Leeds are near the bottom - not one creative player in their team. Running a lot will only get you so far.

Some of the posts in this thread

Pretty much what was expected for that first half for me. Leeds high pressing and intense, crowd up for it. We grew in to the game as it went on but hopefully they grow tired as the second half goes on and we grab the win.

Missing the Casemiro Eriksen axis to play through their press but we have kept them to 2 chances. Bruno probably should have shot earlier for his chance but it was a good save by Melier

They always say that when the strikers are rubbish. Top strikers get goals no matter the style

That was a bad half. We're losing the physical battle everywhere on the pitch. All of our defense bar Shaw, have individually fecked up in that half. Fred is too lightweight in midfield, Sabitzer still getting used to the pace, telling Sancho to make things happen with his weak foot while having back to goal is foolish, Weghorst still thinks he's playing for Burnley, Bruno and Rashford and Weghorst haven't even got the ball in dangerous areas. And then Bruno fecks up the chance for the lead. Just dire stuff. We really need someone to quickly and accurately switch the play. Our best long passers-Eriksen, Casemiro and Martinez aren't out there at it shows.

    What would you expect?

It's pretty much the same players.

It was Ole's fault they said, a better manager will get more out of these players.

A bettter manager came in a dropped most of them straight away.

As soon as he has to play them again it falls to shit.
Still makes me laugh. Ole came in and the first thing he said is most of these players need to go.

I understand the Glazers being slow to let them go but hilarious that so many fans bend over backwards to give them leniency.

Ignore what the commentators do or don't say. What do they know anyway.

I still think we'll win this. It's going to be ugly as feck, like it was in the first half. But, I've seen enough in that half (particularly the last few minutes) that show we have just about enough there to do it. Goals change games - we just need to make sure we get the goal and don't do something stupid to allow them to score.

I've never known a striker be so shot shy in my life, he literally has barely had 3 or 4 chances in the whole time he's been with us.

I thought he did well in his opening few matches but it is like playing with a man light now. I get he works hard pressing players but that's literally all he's doing. Martial came on a few weeks back and got a chance within minutes.

Other than that I thought we've done well, these aren't a team that should be struggling at the foot of the league, they are right in your face and 110 mph.

It's been a big eye opener for Sabitzer who must be hoping and praying this isn't the same every week as he's clearly a very good footballer who wants to influence the game more, Leeds don't allow you a second though.

Bruno also has to score at the end there, I just hope to go we don't regret that miss.

This is bullshit. You cannot play like we usually do when we don't even have a defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro and Maguire is not a tenth of the CB Varane is.

Otherwise, we would just field 11 GKs because it's the easiest/cheapest.
Again I never expected the same type of performance. I only expect a team that looks somewhat competent considering we still have better players on the pitch than Leeds. Thats not too much to ask. I'm not asking to play like Barca, just to play well enough to beat a shite Leeds team. ETH is meant to a 'coach' like everyone is asking for but none of these players looked coached with just a few missing. I said its the first time I doubted him. I still support him FFS but we are allowed to have doubts.

Why is Wout starting ? Sometimes I don’t get ETH decisions.
Not sure if it’s best, but we aren’t trying to play up from the back as much as usual this game. That is why Maguire and WW are playing.

And I mean, Leeds’ defense has big big issues. Odds are that we get at least 2-3 really good chances if we keep sending long like we have, which “should” give us 3 pts.

I agree about this but I think people underestimate how hard it is to play a many games with as much energy as Bruno.

I personally am also not a huge fan but he's shown in the past he performs quite a bit better when he's had a bit of a break but at the moment, there's no one to step in for him
