Being pissed is one thing. Saying Old Trafford is never loud as Anfield is another.
This is how it sounds on tv, I cannot help that. I watched one game in my life at Old Trafford (I’m not English) and it was silent, dead silent.

So you compared a game which was on TV and a game you watched live once.

    Ok.

It's down to your broadcaster? They can turn down the volume as much as they want and it's no consistent.

I don’t care who plays really as long as we don’t play Fred (or McT) as part of a midfield 2.

Estimated April last I heard. Personally, I think we'll be lucky to get Martial and Eriksen back for about the final 6-8 PL games... Even that might be pushing it. Maybe we will still have cup games at that stage if we keep getting through. I think they won't be at full fitness until the season is practically over (assuming no further set backs). Might as well write them off as impact subs for the run-in at this point, what we've got is what we've got.

Need Casemiro to avoid a booking again also as he'd miss the away leg if so.
Even if Martial returns, he'll get injured if the wind blows too hard.... or too softly

Probably have to rest Case, but it's annoying because now we have to play McTominay who's going to be abhorrent
can't be any worse than at least 11 players on Sunday. I keep thinking there's a good player inside, trying to find a way out...

Sabitzer can play, can’t he? I’d like to see a midfield three of Sabitzer Mainoo and Fred. But I suppose we’ll have to settle for McT. Kid must be dynamite in training.

You do know different broadcasters tone down the background noise?
Every foreign stream I watch has the crowd noise toned down massively. Only Sky and BT have it the loudest which isn’t anything compared to being at the stadium.

Martial could probably get injured just passing wind. Thunder shit some haemorrhoids out and be out for 3 months.

    AWB - Maguire - Martinez - Malacia
    McTominay - Fred
    Sancho - Sabitzer - Garnacho
    Rashford

Subs: Casemiro - Bruno - Varanne
Give Cas and Bruno a good rest and let them watch the game and get a feel for it. Swap out Maguire and Varanne to finish out strong.

Eh maybe but him and Fred wasn't good either in the Leeds game and ETH seems to think of McTominay as a 6 for better or worse. I'd probably prefer Fred and Sabi though with Sancho in the 10

    oh FFS please no

did Nunez really did the celebration and Rashford really put it in his insta story? or I imagined it? That second half is a blur in my memory
Yeah, Nunez probably done it thinking he was all edgy and funny. When it's about the 7th time it's happened when a player has scored against us. And it shows that he pays attention to United too. Personally don't have a clue or give a shit what Liverpool do when they aren't playing us, I just hope whatever they're doing is bad for them

    Ok.

?? Yes I do, I was there live once and the atmosphere was poor and many times I watch it on tv it is the same. I only ever hear the away crowd. It has been lively and loud as well but only during big CL matches. Other than that I don't know why you take it personal that I find the OT atmosphere seemingly lacking.

@JuriM @Chief123 I was not aware they could tone it down

If Casemiro plays and picks up a yellow card he'll be suspended for the 2nd leg in Spain.

Real Betis have 4 players one booking away from missing the 2nd leg. Keeper Brav and German Pezzella, Luiz Filipe, Aitar Ruibal

I have been at old trafford once, I clearly stated that and the atmosphere was not immense. The loudness doesn’t seem to be any different when I watch on tv (except for on occasions when a big team visits)

Anyway since this is going nowhere and I’m starting to get accused for being on a wind up I’m going to end this here before everybody turns paranoid over me

@Utd heap alright I’ll take your word for it

id play the same players if they are fit to play and lets see their reaction.
What does that do to players that are fighting for a place?

I'd be of the same mindset but I'd have to drop the worst offenders from Sunday.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
It was for the last match i attended. (Barcelona a few weeks ago)
Been a ST holder for nearly 20 years now, but I thought the Barca game was a bit flatter than it should have been until we got the lead.

I don't know if OT is louder than Anfield regularly, I doubt either ground is amongst the best atmospheres in the country. Think the scousers have people thinking their atmosphere is always good because they hear you'll never walk alone belted on full blast on sky before every game. After that they don't seem particularly loud other, unless it's a big game. Which is the same at OT. The crowd really has to be up for it for it to be at it's best, and that's not often. Best atmosphere for me this season was Liverpool at home. Best ever for me is probably Roma at home in 2007.

In general, it is better recently then it has been in a while. It's just a tough place to get a good atmosphere going, though the singing section has helped.

It became loud in that Barcelona game the moment Fred scored straight after half time.

Have been to plenty of Man United v Liverpool games in old Trafford and Anfield over the years and atmospheres in the stadiums was pretty much on par. I don't get to as many matches now as I use too but of those I attend I choose evening kick offs as they are easily the best atmospheres.

So, the same as Anfield (famous Anfield atmosphere is nowhere to be seen more often than not) but apparently when you watch Liverpool games it's a lot more loud, right?

You're clearly on a wind up.

Anfield is normally pretty quiet, like most teams fans, they get a bit excited playing United. Old Trafford can be rocking and or some times a bit flat it all depends on whats at stake and who the opposition Is.

I am hopeful of a massive rebound from the Liverpool debacle and a big improvement from all of the players.

I was a bit worried before Liverpool we had been getting away with it for a while.

The performances against Palace, Leeds, to an extent Newcastle and to a huge degree Leicester have had point of genuine concern for me.

That Leicester side could manage a shot at goal against Arsenal for 75 minutes...but had the freedom of Old Trafford that first half.

Wonder if the 2 games a week and lack of depth have caught up and will continue to...it's not getting much easier.

I think this game is going to be dodgy. Hopefully I am bang wrong.

We really have to rotate our squad.

Bruno looks so tired, Cas is injured since the first half at Anfield. Betis is doing quite well in Liga, they will press us hard in the first half, my selection will be:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Licha Malacia
    Sab Mct
    Pellstri Sancho Garnacho
    Wout

We do need fresh legs, Rashy, Bruno and can come on around at 60th minutes and make impacts, so as Fred, the first priority should be 3 points in the next game to coment the 3rd place, there still a lot of games and looks like Che is picking up their form, there is no room for complacment.

I assume from scanning through a few of these posts and some suggested lineups, that most on here think Bruno should be benched?

Genuinely curious as to whether it's because of the Liverpool game or because of tiredness because I saw things related to both. I'm personally on the latter, because if we drop people for the former then arguably half the team get dropped. Hopefully some time to re-build a bit of energy helps a couple of these players though.
