Good result and second half performance. That has to be the standard going forward - playing with cajones, running in behind and making life hell for the opposition. Good turn around after the 1st half and confidence building after the debacle of last weekend.

Very good performance for the whole match except the last ten minutes of the first half. Bruno dominated the game from a deeper position. Actually thought virtually every player played well and the biggest cheer of the night for me was for Weghorst's goal :D

Negatives: De Gea's kicking is appalling sometimes. Shockingly bad. I thought he had improved on it this season but it's still not at the right level and almost cost us a goal. Feel bad for saying it but we need a better keeper for this kind of football.

Great win overall, could’ve scored loads more.

De Gea’s distribution was atrocious. I don’t think he hit one long pass.

Dalot looked all over the place, and Antony scored a great goal but is so frustrating. Should’ve squared that instead of that ridiculous dink attempt.

Bruno, Martinez and pellistri the highlights for me. Also happy for Weghorst, but sometimes it’s like we’re attacking with 10 men.
Pellistri is looking better all the time, his pace and passing abilities are clearly visible. Great find.

Nobody can be worse than Damien delaney.
Brian Kerr is a football man, he's been around the block, he's also very agreeable and tries to not push junior pundits too deep.

Christ alive, he has no idea what he's talking about l.

Good bounce back tonight just what was required.A lot of tied bodies and minds out there thought E10H will have to manage that or it's going to hurt us.

Ruud van Nistelrooy …
Ruud was no target man. When we signed him he had speed, good balance, strength and could finish. He wasn't Henry, but he was quick. Ruud was never a target man for us.

Great game other than after they scores, their confidence grew but in the 2nd half we overran them and outplayed them. You could see how the tense eased of and we were flying, could have scored a couple more.

Would rather Pellistri be given some games over Antony tbh.
I'd love if we could actually do this. Right now it seems we aren't getting anything from the right flank. I don't even think its about effort, Antony may just not be good enough to start for us. People have to start coming to that line of thinking.

Yes he's 22 and its his first season in England. But even with the likes of Grealish who struggled in their first season, you could see that they could do things and take on people. They just witheld from doing so as they were getting used to a new system. Antony gets the game time and gets the space, he just doesn't do anything with it, that's concerning as we are in march.

Good reaction tonight, especially considering the shambolic performance in the previous game. United could easily have won this game with more goal margin, that would have almost made the return leg in Spain more of a rountine and allow some of the first-teamers some well deserved rest.

Poor finishing from us again. Betis totally collapsed in that second half and we should have given them a Liverpool style mauling.
It was

Exactly why we shouldn't get hung up on Sunday's result. We were well beaten, but the scoreline was total fluke - another week we'd have lost 3-1, put it down to fatigue and not worried about it. So happy to see a committed and professional performance tonight - more of the same on Sunday hopefully.

Fantastic result and we needed this. Made me feel happy again not to mention I only blocked 3 posters. Just a fantastic day all round.

Bruno was very very cautious with the ball.

Good result, wrong team on the pitch. Some things are more important than the result and team spirit is one of them. I am not sure the sub's would have felt happy after watching Sunday and being left on the bench.

Fair play to Betis for constructing a squad made almost entirely out of players who we've all heard of being linked to English clubs, but barely seen play.

Better overall performance that. Would love us to sign someone in the vain of Carrick going forward for those moments following our first goal and us looking for the second. So many times this season we get the first and then spend a good 15-20 minutes soaking up the response from the opposition.

Without Eriksen, there’s just nobody in the midfield to read the game and slow/speed the play up when need be.

Great result! Was a bit touchy when it was 1 - 1 but thoroughly outplayed them when we were on top. Brilliant atmosphere as well. Was anything made of the Betis fans fighting with the police on TV? Shame really as they were pretty good up till then.

I think he'll get over 10 goals a season no problem but I still think he's a poor purchase.

I think we could've got two better players for his fee.
If he continues scoring at the rate he is at the moment then he could have 15 before the end of this season. Forget the money for a minute and that wouldn't be a bad return for a young lad in his first season. Sancho would kill for stats like that.

I was so afraid of this game I can not even express. To get such a good result I am delighted. I actually took some time off for this game and I'm glad I did. The only negative of AWB being so poor will not take away my happiness.

What? He was great in the second half, miles better than Dalot

Personally think it was a god ploy to put the same players out there, give them a chance at redemption.

Hit his chest then his arm. Doesn't that negate the handball?
I honestly can’t keep up anymore. I thought defenders got away with that but any contact with the attackers arm and it’s chalked off. Sounds mental every time I say it so I must be wrong.

Can’t help but look at Sancho too and think he’s a player who’s happy to be on the periphery of the game, I know his game isn’t picking up the ball and running at his man, but he just seems unwilling to put his stamp on games.
