Surely we can find another playmaker. He can’t be the only one
There are lots of playmakers around, but very few who can also dribble and defend a bit.

Mac Allister, Neves and Tielemans can pass it, but the latter 2 are genuinely slow. Rice and Caicedo aren't great passers, though I like how quickly Caicedo moves it (some Roy Keane in him). Outside the Prem, there are lots of good passers, but a lot of the best options look more like #10s than #8s.

I can understand why Ten Hag keeps pushing for this one, the list of players we could sign that I would back to beat out Eriksen for the job is pretty damn low.

Why keep pushing for something when you are not getting anything back in return though. Do we necessarily need someone quick or when talking about slow did you mean in terms of decision making too.

We'll get him if there's any serious punishment levied against Barcelona.
Ah ffs stop this nonsense. He’s made it very clear he has no interest since over a year now.
The chances are low but to expect any other answers in such an environment is illogical, of course he'll say he'd want to stay.

Bet Spanish government rescues them or they pull yet another of those infamous levers

The first option may be likely but this time it's looking more likely by the day that's gonna be it, I genuinely have no idea how they could wriggle their way out of this, the evidence is supremely damning.

We need a carrier. We have exactly 0 between the 6 midfielders at the club currently. It's unacceptable to go into another season with the same issue.

Macallister and Tielemans would be a shrewd bit of business, would love De Jong but just not happening, him and his other half are clearly living the dream in Barca.

Would he stop sucking barca’s cock this time and realise the bigger picture? I always thought his unpaid salary is the issue but I’m not sure anymore. I genuinely get the feeling he loves his stay in Barcelona as much he loves his deferred payments.

What is the bigger picture? And surely it can't be a surprise that he loves playing for Barcelona - why wouldn't he?

The bigger picture is leaving a club that is charged of corruption, treats you like shit and don’t want to pay your money in the first place. How about playing for a club and a manager that respects you and values your talent not to mention the fans who would adore you here.

No doubt he is a quality player, but at hsi dream club, has turned us down already and is he actually even what our midfield now needs?

See a lot of comments of him being a great passer.....I dont agree with that. He is a great ball carrier holdign the ball in a press and he hardly ever gives the ball away....but is his passing progressive or creative....as to be it is just neat and tidy

I really liek him as a player, but I am really not interested in him coming here anymore, never really was as never felt he wanted to in the first place. I actually thought he would go last summer in alast minute deal to the likes of CHelsea or PSG and still feel it ill be that type of move he makes

Its circumstantial evidence. It looks bad but will need army of video analysts to go through every one of their games over that period/ They will need to have a decent sample size of corrupt ref practices to prove it wasn't just a series of poor refereeing or an actual pattern of behaviour.

Then match that against each ref's cash deposits in their bank accounts.

Hard work and will take years. Doubt if the Spanish FA will have that level of human resources required.

I'd take Frenkie and Pedri as compensation, one for each UCL title they stole from us

Does Fletcher make difference IF not suspended in 2009,remember that was Toure at top level. We did well to score in 2011 because they were absolutely peak that night

Pretty clear he doesn’t want to come
Pretty sure ETH(and agents) know more than us. He is not stupid enough to keep pursuing a player who has said no.

If we are going for this transfer again I'm pretty sure there has been some encouragement.

His stance just seems so strong, not buying into that just being about money either

We’ll if we go in again I feel we have been pushed by his agent or him but if he doesn’t want to come we should not waste time
