When is the club going to call out this corruption?

Has anyone in the media even acknowledged the fact that Andre Marriner abused VAR in defiance of the rules to change a decision? VAR is not allowed to go "actually I think that should be a red, not a yellow." It's meant for instances where the ref doesn't see the incident, or makes a call that's completely at odds with what happened. The VAR official isn't allowed to use the technology to persuade the ref to change a call. That's literally not allowed. Marriner abused his position to feck us over (yet again) and I'm not hearing a single peep about that anywhere except here.

Walker Peters aimed for the ball, got the ball, and sometimes you end up tangling/doing something with your other leg. Carroll's "challenges" are just an insult to the word.
Walker Peters deliberately followed through with his back leg in a scissor action and injured our young player in the process. His style of tackle is intentionally outlawed for exactly that reason. There was far more intent in his challenge than in Casemiro’s.

Which should be the basis of our appeal.

Not true at all.
VAR can be used to do just that if the VAR ref deems a yellow not enough for a challenge.

Nothing will change until refs and VAR have to justify it to the cameras like absolutely everyone else involved in the game does

It was a clear red. Denying that is just plain stupid. The handball rule nobody gets, not sure if that's a penalty anymore.

The ref didn't make us lose this match
Was it feck. This type of tackle happens every week, in fact I watched 2 games today and it happened in both (Casemiro and Burn). Sometimes it’s not a free kick, sometimes it’s a red card. This is the fecking problem.

And as predicted, not one of our penalty appeals gets shown on MOTD. Other way round or against another team, if this happened, they'd replay it about 10 times to hammer home how controversial and incompetent it is

Same on Sky highlights too. British media is so corrupt. Refs just take the line of give United nothing for a quiet life from the media.

It’s not even a conspiracy, it is corruption. It’s too regular

Id love to see if Southampton would have got a penalty for the same things

Because of one man and his towering personality. They knew they would have to answer to him and he would not make their life easy. We have gone too soft recently, glad EtH called them out today.
There is a clear bias against us, whether fans want to see it or not.
As if we didn't have bad calls with Fergie. Big ones too. And what about the last decade?

There's no bias. We might have been a little unlucky with a couple of calls recently but nothing more. Arsenal conceded two goals which should have been chalked off. Is someone trying to ruin their title run?

This thread is RAWK at its worst. Fans are so clueless when it comes to refereeing and speak from their heart and not their head. Tons of people here were outraged when Chelsea got to retake a penalty last week ever though it was the right call.

Liverpool and West ham penalty call would never ever been given to us, going by recent treatment. Wolves denied a penalty at Newcastle. Maybe the ref/var are just rubbish with a touch of bias thrown in, a toxic mix, but rubbish no less. Nice MOTD didnt even show our penalty shout.

Didn’t MOTD have a whole segment on the penalty shout that Chelsea had against West Ham?

This is the sort of stuff I hate about being a football fan. It turns usually rational, decent people into deranged lunatics frothing at the mouth about how everyone is against the club.

As the biggest club in the country what would the FA have to gain from setting up this massive conspiracy against us?

No, it isn't! Look at the number of comments on several similar threads on here this evening. Genuine United fans are heartily sick of the ongoing corruption and bias from match officials and the media against United. I suggest that you actually watch our matches to see what is happening.

This is why it feels like Casemiro has been deliberately targeted. Exactly the same VAR editing occurred with the Crystal Palace red card. VAR picked out that one little loop from the worst angle, completely ignoring all the other shit that went down.
Correct, it was nice to see MOTD showing the only angle where you couldn't see if Rice done the Villa player, last week they showed a close up so audience didn't see Grealish retaliating and kicking Burn. Editing is a great tool for a 50/50 to be swung to suit the agenda. Those on here defending supposedly fair challenge on Garnacho because he got the ball so everything after doesn't count. Yet happy that Casemiro's is a straight red. We now 2 players down through scissor tackles.

Terrible refs influenced by stories, examples, and agendas getting a free pass to do as they please. They clearly want VAR to fail, by not using it properly turning everybody against "it" instead of them. I think that is incredibly disingenuous if so and the lack of transparency is what leads us to believe it. If it's pure incompetence, surely they would be more humble and honest about that this is a work in progress but nah they spend their time covering up.

I do agree emotions run wild and then you'd see people change their rationality. Deranged lunatics is just a derogatory generalisation, as these people are frustrated because they get no real answers to their questions. People don't think 'corruption' because of a huge conspiracy, they think corruption because that's what it feels like when something is wrong and the people in power throw you bullshit when you ask for change.

How does any organisation become corrupt, it just happens over time that people do things for their own benefit and forget about their responsibility. They keep their position and keeps the public in the dark. It feels like 90% of their job is making sure they are keeping criticism of the organisation at a minimum. United as the biggest club in the country is at the end of a lot of 'examples' and a lot of stories which you could argue go so far to even influence some games. If the competitive aspect of the sport is potentially compromised, then whats the point. If the integrity of football is at stake, being rational isn't a priority because then football is pointless which hurts these deranged lunatics because to them football means a lot.

What we all really want is for VAR to be successful and used properly to create consistency in important match deciding decisions to ultimately make the sport fair game again. Why isn't that happening? How can the biggest sport in the world with a bunch of money at disposal for analysis, science, organisation, jobs etc fail so miserably in meeting our expectations? It's not even that hard when you consider the manpower at their disposal. If they choose to not invest but rather half ass the idea of VAR, on purpose, in the face of fans.. you'd have to ask why. We don't get no answers. That's corruption.

I’m not saying it is corruption but what kind of point even is this? Have you see what’s happened with Barca while Real were the biggest club in the league/world?

It's not corruption. VAR is being overused to reofficiate the game by allowing judgment calls to be reviewed, and they just have no clue what they're doing anymore. Does anyone know the exact rule for the scissor follow through to be considered a red card offense?

There is just no accountability. They know that FA has their backs. And if push comes to shove, they can point at the online abuse they receive or point at the shit that the lower league refs get from public and victim cry.
Besides, from what I read there is no big line of refs waiting to take anyone's places.

Thread is a bit RAWKish for my test but erik would do well to take a page out of Fergie's playbook and call them out more even of it costs him a ban or two , he's been tad too meek in my opinion so far and this isn't going to stop, they're clearly incompetent.

Yeah should take the ban because it might mean we get some things in our favour again

Of course we had bad calls during Fergie. But we would also get plenty in out favor because the refs did not want to be end of his angry bollockings.
Calling fans clueless and Rawkish shows that you have no nuance in your understanding.

Bias does not automatically mean corruption. There are a lot of conscious and unconscious biases that influence Referees’ decision making. For example, the entire Man City dubious goal episode led to a media narrative of refs being generous in our games. Post that match, we have been at the receiving end of all 50/50 or even blatant calls that should have been awarded in our favor. Same was the case a few years back when we were getting a lot of penalties under Ole and then Klopp opened his mouth and we suddenly got stonewall penalties denied.

We need to learn that voices of media, managers, ex-players all can manipulate the refs thinking process and use it to our advantage. Rather than sit back and say it will all even out during course of the season. All winners have done it in the past - Pep does it, Klopp does it and Fergie was the master at it.

The standard of refereeing is rank bad but there's little to no actual corruption or deliberate bias.

Something needs to be done though. I don't actually think Anthony Taylor did that much obviously wrong yesterday (all decisions marginal) but its the inconsistencies demonstrated week-in, week-out.

One thing is for sure, VAR hasnt helped at all when it comes to getting the right decision, bar with offsides

Hasn't anyone noticed it yet? yes the VAR is shite but even during Fergie years you could see how the refs seemed to try and make up for their mistakes that favored us even though multiple wrongs don't make a right should be the words they live by. You can't rectify past mistakes as a ref, you should be better and fairer next time, no matter the teams.

Remember when Howard Webb gave us penalties and photos of him in United shirt started to appear everywhere? and how he stopped giving us ANY penalty after that? it's fecking ridiculous. It feels like only for us such a rule applies even though teams do keep getting incorrect decisions that favor them from time to time due to refs being shite. But when it's us that's benefited from those mistakes they will go out of their way to make sure way we will be punished next time for their own fecking mistake.

Rashford's goal against City was technically a correct decision but since it caused a lot of uproars, Casemiro got red carded not long after that and they are still doing it now. "It's ok, they got lucky vs City". Fecking idiots.

Imo the most mind boggling stuff about both of his red cards were no one in the field, including the entire opposition team, which mean including the 'victim' here were thinking or feeling he should be given a red card. Not a single player from the opposition team did protest or even complain to the ref in both incidents. In fact they were even sympathy toward him after the red cards because as a pro they knew very well he didn't deserve to.

I've seen people posting this but is this actually the case? Genuinely asking for my own knowledge. Not attempting to agree or disagree. Is this a law documented/stated somewhere?

It’s very hard not to argue bias. There’s so many now that you can randomly pluck out of the hat that people forgot about.
The ball being out v West Ham is another. The Leeds player handling the ball that somehow made Weghorst offside, Casemiro getting sent off v Palace when the images shown had a Palace player doing the exact same thing, the Villa wall being 20 yards back coupled with the free kick being pushed 10 yards further forward into a shooting position.
I understand 50/50 calls but we simply don’t get 50/50 calls, we don’t even get 70/30. Bar v City I can’t think of any calls we even got? Even then the ref judged it on letter of the law and not subjectivity.
Close call goes against us and people are argue why they can see it went that way. That’s ok if not evens out but it goes against us every single time now
