Romano says that Arsenal, United and Newcastle want him. Haven't seen him yet, but I could see us adding Sabitzer and a 20 year old like this and then that kid replacing Fred after a year on loan or getting settled in, sort of thing. FBRef stats on the ball are fantastic but very #10-y, and he weighs 150 pounds. https://fbref.com/en/players/35a6e5c7/Gabriel-Veiga

Probably more of a 2024 buy I guess, when he has 2 years left on his deal.

Looks mobile and not as weak as I feared, played a backeel, I think that's clearly enough to assume he'll play 100 times for Spain and solve their final 3rd problem.

Whoscored says he's, I dunno, somewhere in-between Bruno and Pereira? Great shot, very good dribbler, meh passer apart from good through balls, with bad discipline. A Spanish Joe Willock maybe? Spanish Maddison? None of these will be close to right this is shit data.

Was my favourite character in Street Fighter, was disappointed with his role in the film.

Having a breakout season and is a key player for Celta at 20 years of age.

Looks very much a PL midfielder. Not the typical Spanish metronome but more direct and likes to run with ball and obviously a goal threat with his runs into the box

He looks the real deal from what I see. Sign him up.

A good old fashioned "I raised him into stardom on FM so I'm invested in his real life success" player

just hope the club won't Veig too long or Brighton or Benfica will buy him for nothing and then ask 70 mill. two years later.

Looks good. Reminds me of Carlos Soler formerly of Valencia of the past 2 seasons, goalscoring CM with some end product. The difference being this guy is doing it at 20 whereas Soler was 24/25 before going to PSG this summer.

Would any of their CMs help us, even as our 4th or 5th guy in there? They have too many guys there assuming Emery-Zaire is gonna be ready or they buy Kone. Presumably Verratti and Vitinha aren't worth discussing.

He does seem a bit more of a #10 than an #8 based on his stats and highlights - though I've not seen a full game of his.

He seems quite similar in profile to Florian Wirtz, except with him being more of a goalscorer while Wirtz being more of a creative passer.

Sabitzer would be a pointless signing, he's already 28 and maybe not even as good as Fred. Utd need to sign at least one CM this summer who can more than adequately replace Eriksen, plus a DM to be understudy to Casemiro - he fills none of those needs.

Gabri Veiga also might not fill any of those needs and as with WIrtz I think he'd be more a potential understudy to Fernandes. He'd probably only make sense as a signing if Utd still have money left over after signing a young DM and an upgraded #8. Maybe he'll be seen as developing in to more of an #8 in time? But currently his biggest asset seems to be his scoring ability rather than defensive work or creativity.

Looks class

has a good burst from midfield in him too, almost FDJ-esque

Yes. But so would Parades and we didnt go for him last summer when they had midfield turnover. So I dont know if thats where we are looking. Sanchez and Soler are playing least and both are easily good enough to at least be a competitive backup for our starting midfield. On form they're good enough to start

Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle, among the teams that closely follow Gabri Veiga.

The three Premier clubs have come to see him in various games this season.

Clause: €40m

I mean as far as youtube comps go, it shows some great clips of him putting in good defensive work, showing good balance, showing he knows how to receive the ball under pressure and stay composed, can move with the ball and strike from range, can play the through balls...

Stats on fbref very much suggest he's playing as a 10. But Ten Hag did see an 8 in Eriksen and not a 10... elite ball carrying, solid defensive work, seems relatively press resistant which is key if he actually is, and then his shooting stats are all elite because he's probably playing much further up.

Passing stats are low probably because of that too, so wouldn't necessarily say he's a bad passer. Has a good amount of passes into the box. But he seems to just play a high risk game and very high up the pitch (where most of his touches are). Also... only 21.

Never seen him jsut seen transfer links. From watching the youtube cideo, actually reminds me of Le Celso who was at SPurs, remember lots of people raving about him on here....and he was rubbish at SPurs.

Not to say this guy isnt really good. Didnt SOler have a big injury at some point, remember him breaking through as a promising wide player and the he seemed to dissapear for a while

Nah. Maybe you're thinking of Canales? Dont think Soler has had any injury problems like that. He just had to play from the side while Valencia went with senior CMs in Parejo, Kondogbia and Coquelin competing for 2 spots in the middle. Eventually they all moved on, including Valencia selling Parejo and Coquelin to their local rivals Villarreal for less than 10 million euros and them becoming important players in Villarreal finishing above Valencia every season since then... Besides the point.

Anyway with Valencia's clearouts and falling standards Soler got his chance in the middle and ended up Valencia's best player, now he's sold to PSG and doesnt play much because they have like 6 CMs who would start at most clubs.

As for a comparison with Lo Celso? Firstly I liked Lo Celso at Betis and thought he had some good games at Spurs. But they were in general failing and obviously they felt like they could get rid of him and that he wasnt important to them. Another one thats ended up at Villarreal. But I dont really see the comparison between the players myself

Think it was more Valencia went to shit. He was their captain and very capable player for them.

The Lo Celso at Betis was very promising, he looked like the ball stuck to his feet and had a really good weight of pass, I think the pace of this league got the better of him.

Edit: sorry, I missed your post @Ekeke. Looks like I just completely nabbed your post with far less detail.

He is a little reminiscent of Stevie G by the looks of him. For €40m, you sonofabitch I'm in.

Still think he needs a year or two in that Celta side but don't think he will. The hype is probably going to lead him to a move this window.

His passing is a bit too ambitious at times and ends up giving it away rather needlessly and defensively as well needs more effort if he is going to play as an #8. But his qualities going forward will be very attractive to a team that likes to play direct.
