He got into office once, I'm sure there's a good sized contingent that would still donate to him simply for him having an 'R' next to his name. Who knows who will primary him though?

They could but he's a good foil, he distracts everyone from the real things the R's are trying to do
Certainly, but it is inherently difficult to unseat the incumbent during a primary. This case might be different though seeing how bad Santos actually is.

This has been known since the late 80s. William Casey was at the center of it IIRC.
Why is this being brought back on the surface now of all times if it was known for that long?
There may be more details that have recently come to light that bring the story from what was previously the realm of conjecture to closer to fact.
