Roy probably thinks he still owes us for that dreadful period he was our manager.

This is unfair to Roy I think. He has been extremely restricted in terms of the money he has available to him.

He has a net spend of -40 million over the last four transfer windows.

The club simply aren’t spending the money on the squad to compete at this level and they want a steady hand that will keep them in the division.
that is pretty incredible

They are in big trouble next year.

They have 3 CBs, Benteke, Ward and Townsend out of contract. A board that doesn’t want to spent.

Is Hodgson out of contract too? I think he is, and can't see anything on Google saying he's signed one recently.

Normally you expect Hodgson side to defend very well but recently their defense has been conceded a lot. 7-0 to Liverpool, 3-0 to Aston Villa & 4-0 to city.

City had a less than 1 of xG sum, so it's a bit harsh to criticise Palace's defending after such a weird game / result.

Gutted by this, he'll just manage to keep them up with organised defensive strong boring football, I'd love to see Palace go down.

Head scratcher this one.
I think it makes sense, keep them in the premier league and go for a more progressive manager in the summer, he'll be a better custodian than Ralf was!

Watford tried that with him.
They might survive as the relegation battle is mental this year with so many teams not playing well

What's this got to do with Ralf :houllier:

Some people are obsessed.
I think that's my first ever post mentioning Ralf and I'm not a United fan, so probably not obsessed, just comparing managers that are brought in to see a club through to the end of the season :houllier:

I imagine you wouldn't be too upset if the roles were reversed! I must admit I wasn't too upset that it was us that put the final nail in Viera's coffin :)

CP fans need to run Parish out of town, the man has no ambition.

This is karma, I was absolutely buzzing when Potter left for Chelsea…now you’ve got an even better manager and are going for Champions League and the FA Cup, we’ve won 1 in 15 games and just reappointed Roy f*cking Hodgson. If you don’t laugh you’ll cry.

Don't find myself wanting to agree with Vincent Kompany, but this appointment proves how right he was.

The decision to sack Vieira for this, with the run of games they have coming...

One can only hope they get absolutely paggered and relegated now.

I always find myself starting to actively root against clubs that hire managers like this

He'll keep them up.

Owners need to seriously consider how they can just keep competitive enough to stay in the league maybe push towards the top half on occasion over the next few years. Don't think they have the resources available to do much more than that.

Only needs more than 5 points and 4 goals in 10 games and he would have done better than Vieira last 10 games.

What did Kompany say? And what's it got to do with him as a manager of a club in a different division? Did he give his view on Championship strugglers Blackpool and Huddersfield sacking their managers and going for 'old' managers like Mick McCarthy and Neil Warnock? It happens at many clubs and at all levels at this time of year each season that they look to bring in experience to try and help in a relegation battle. Works for some, not for others. But it's a common enough situation.
