Really good half, deserve to be leading, whilst on top we need that second goal

I love DDG but c'mon, his passing is absolutely shocking. Both long and short.
Today it's been really good, think he's only misplaced one

Much better performance. Brentford have been poor but whilst its 1-0 are still in it.
sabisters headed flick ons from Degea long kicks far superior to WW and very noticeable improvement. . He also got a headed assist for the goal.

Very good half. In control these feckers need to come out 2nd half and do the same..
    Good goal well taken .

For all the talk about Brentford being a good team etc. Having watched them on Sat and again today.

They are basically the fecking same as big Sam's Bolton.
Big Sam’s Bolton were a good team. Speed, Djorkaeff, Okocha, and Campo, all good players, and a good keeper in Jääskeläinen

Sabitzer has won 6 aerials in that half, mad for a player his size, unexpected attribute unlocked.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
We've been better but it has to be said how poor they have been. I thought they, of all teams, would smell blood and okay aggressive. They've turned it into a training game, attack Vs defence, with their approach and they've been very sloppy whenever they have the ball. I'm just wary that they'll find their normal game in the second half and we've got that second goal. Hopefully they continue with this and it's an easy second half also.

Not sure we have been that great. Brentford have just been useless. Missing Casemiros drive in midfield ,assively. McTominay is so ponderous. Antony needs to start creating more outside of a couple of moments a game. Fingers crossed Shaw isn't out for too long as well.

That’s hardly an insult, is it?

That was probably the most comfortable half of football this season. Brentford have done nothing. Apart from Shaw's injury, this has been smooth sailing. Still need that second goal though, as they are bound to get at least a chance.

I think this has been Sabitzer's best performance for us. He has pressed well, had some good flicks towards his teammates and got in great positions for counters. Wish Rashford had tried to pick him out instead of shooting.

It's weird how this is largely the same team as the weekend. The effect of OT and lack of Wout really showing.

so many good passes/plays by DDG and just one bad pass is enough for the wolves to come back out ha. Cracks me up man.
You do realise he is a keeper, and that he is not supposed to have any bad passes inside his own half?

The opponent that won the ball was just as far away.
Because said opponent was already pressing, you're blaming McTominay for not pre-empting a badly misplaced pass here, at some point you have to accept that not everything is his fault, despite his obvious limitations.

I'll never understand why our keeper, who can't pass, tries to finesse his passes with fade. He ends up pulling or slicing it nearly every time.

Head over the ball, pass with your instep the way you are facing. Or boot it up field.

Any plan that involves our Dave having to thread the needle of on-rushing forwards, is a bad plan.

Wasn't in the thread during the game but the assist from Sabitzer was excellent, great movement and I think a lot of players might have tried to flick the ball towards goal

Domination. We need to get more from Antony and Sancho. I'm not sure how. Our central midfield have been great. Opposite from Newcastle game.

Yep, brilliant footwork and distribution but for the one pass his haters will remember.
The De Gea haters take joy over the smallest mistake. Great saves are actually, you see, routine saves. Not a single mention of missed passes by Alisson or Ederson...or even Pickford or Ramsdale.

    Take your own advice

Around the 40m mark he controlled a terrible back pass and within the minute made an excellent pass.

But of course that doesn't suit your agenda against an United legend.

I've no problem with someone wanting a new keeper but I do have a problem with pricks celebrating every little mistake. Whether you like it or not DDG is here until the end of the season so why not support your team instead of bs like the post I'm replying to
I’m not celebrating his mistakes. And I have no agenda. I don’t want my keeper making mistakes and never will. But he’s made the same shite mistake about 10 times this season.

No need to be all high and mighty about what constitutes the right kind of post on here either. I’m sure you’ve always supported the side too and never once criticised someone in the moment either? Feck sake.

Genuinely fecking baffling how much shit Antony gets in here after a half like that. Do people genuinely expect him to dribble 2-3 men and curl every chance in the top corner every time?

He's been very good this half. And I hate everyone who can't see that.

Other than that, good half by the team. Giant difference in attitude from the Newcastle game.
Every attacker has been up and down in the first half with some really good moments. People have their mind made up about Antony and Sancho before a ball is even kicked.

Them two plus Martinez are our most technically sound players and the only ones I'd expect to retain the ball under pressure
Sancho Martial Amad front three next season would be quality soft core porn, super sexy but no penetration.

Very good half. Could guess people will still complain about De Geas kicking or Anthony in general but both hav done very well so far
His terrible pass resulted in the only time they even came close to scoring.

Surely you know you don't have to make contact to produce a foul? Intent is a thing.
Unless it's stud up, out of control, and the challenge fortunately miss the victim, then the loose intention interpretation may have its case.

Here it's like diving, when McTominay pulled out the challenge (control of the action) and Jensen (?) was easily able to evade contact.

We haven't been great as we haven't created much but I think it's been a good half from, just not overly impressive. Brentford haven't been good but I think it's more on us not letting them into the game than them being dreadful.

No way Brentford come out and play like that again. Woeful from them. They're usually good against the top table teams.

Yes, because he never moves to free himself up. He needs to move constantly, otherwise he's an easy press target.

Can see Martial for Sancho in the 2nd. Sancho did very well mostly IMO, but with no Shaw, can see him dropping off. He doesn't do as well with Malacia. Plus Brentford will push forward more so Rashford wide and Martial holding up will help us deal with that.
