Seville came back from the dead just before our game with them. I hate Spanish teams.

Mendilibar in charge of them now. Nice to see him finally get a chance at a big club as he did amazing work at Eibar for many seasons even if this will just be a short term Hodgson type role.

So Zidane to the rescue somewhere in January. Perez always has these brain farts picking bums like Benitez, Lope, Solari.
I have no recollection at all of Solari being Real Madrid manager, when did that happen?!

Mendilibar is a great coach. If Monchi gives him time in Seville he can do very well.

It was in 2018-09 when Madrid had Lopetegui, Solari and Zidane in that order.

Solari had been training Castilla until that point.

People only remember the "hits", they don't remember all the flops Perez also has hired.

Ah right. I would've been certain Zidane would've come back in mid season again once Lopetegui appointment had crashed and burned.

Solari lost to Ajax in the last 16 of the CL and was fired otherwise he was supposed to be caretaker till the end of the season. Zidane was reappointed but had a really terrible finish of the season..

For me Ansu was again the weakest player of the team, despite the goal. He lost way too many balls and duels against Elche, LaLiga's weakest side by far. That's not how you convince Xavi to give you more minutes. I fear the next season will be the last of him playing for Barca, if he doesn't improve.

Hat-trick for Benzema in just 35 minutes.

Madrid 4 - Valladolid 0.

Benzema and Madrid hitting form just in time for the UCL knockouts... We've seen this story before.

Real Madrid is so stacked in midfield that Camavinga is doing an Alaba (CM developed as LB). Camavinga has been doing well in midfield too. I am jealous..

We're playing Cama there because we have no fit LWB actually

He's not really that good at it, great going forward but defensively a real weakness

Copa del rey second leg tomorrow.

Alaba, Militao, Rudiger, Nacho. Tochu, Cama, Ceballos / Modrić. Vini, Benzema, Rodrygo.

Can we do that please Carlo?

Terrible line-up, guess we have to wait another 10 years for a CDR-final.

which means Barcelona to win 2-0
Without Dembele, Pedri, Frenkie and Christensen I expect a similar game as the first leg. You guys will have the ball for the most time. We will need a lot of luck and many bad shots from your forwards to go through. Especially Frenkie's loss is hard for our possession and dynamic. Our midfield will be Busquets, Roberto, Kessie and Gavi. And I don't even want to know who will be on the bench instead.

Relax, it will take a lot for us to go through.

Tchouameni keeps getting benched btw, clearly Ancelotti doesn't trust him.

The lineups of both teams more or less expected. I'm surprised Nacho isn't a starter.
I'm a bit pessimistic about today's match, important injured players at Barcelona.

We will see if Vinicius stays on the left wing or goes to the center, behind Benzema to get rid of Araujo's marking.

As expected. Barca could field their U17 and still dominate.

Vinicius saving his atrocious 1st half (again because of his temper). Lets hope he calms down because that's the only way we'll see a good second half, Real Madrid looked totally harmless outside of this counter (Barcelona not much better on offense but more dominant).

Don't forget Gavi, we aren't the only team with a hothead.

Dunno, i think it had a bit of everything. Fights, a ref immediately carding a player for a tactical foul, more fights, more fouls, more sniping, a rare case of the one incident of handball that is clearly defined in the rules, a couple awesome last ditch clearances, and a huge double chance one way ending in a 3on2 counter attack and goal at the other end

Ancelotti needs to take out one of Modric or Kroos and bring on Tchouameni though. Valverde is lost at the moment and our right flank is a freaking motorway for them

Araujo is a bad match for Vinicius and Balde is a bad match for Carvajal.

At least, luckily for us, Camavinga has been a bad match for Raphinha today.

Very weird that Valverde has huge swings in form. I was superb a couple of months ago and really is struggling lately.
I don't understand it, yes, his form from first half was probably not substainable, but now he can't even do the basics right.
