Yeah, absolutely ludicrous. Brings back memories of trying to watch Seinfeld on BBC2 back in the mid to late 90s. Bumped every other week for some bullshit like snooker or fecking darts coverage.

Even allowing for the tedious premise and shit cast, what the feck are they doing putting a blind guy in a light deprivation psychological challenge?
Saw that advertised, have no idea why you'd even make that a show
Really enjoyed the potato and caravan tasks. The live task was a bit crap.
and yeah pushing it back to 10.30 for that shite is ridiculous.
I actually thought the first season in Australia was really good. I generally don't care much for the taskmasters anyway, so whether it's Greg or Tom I don't really care.I finished the first series of the Australian version a couple of days ago (when the last episode aired and was put on YouTube).
It grew on me as it went along, and I'll definitely be giving series 2 a go. Hopefully, like the New Zealand one, they'll get a funnier group for the second series as neither had particularly funny contestants for the first series.
I grew to appreciate the Taskmaster as the series progressed - much better than the NZ host. But the Australian assistant was only OK and wasn't as funny or likeable as Paul (NZ) or Alex.
Ya wot? Get aht ma pub.I think it will be on All4 from 9. I really hate Danny Dyer have no idea how he gets shows.
Will take over celebrity hunted too which I'm watching if only for James Acastor and Ed Gamble
Oh, I'm not bothered about them being competent at the tasks or not. There's entertainment / humour either way, and often them being useless at the tasks can be the funniest. I said I didn't find any of the five contestants particularly funny in the first Australian series. Which is a drawback.I actually thought the first season in Australia was really good. The episode where they had to become twins/triplets had me laughing my head off. Completely unhinged.
I do think that if you want your contestants to be competent, the Australian one is not for you.
Yeah, me too.Thought the latest episode was incredibly weak. Not helped by the tasks.
Agreed. The best tasks have always been the 'thinking outside the box' kind of tasks or physical ones like you say.One thing you notice with the series now compared to older seasons, they just dont do properly physical tasks any more.
Too many tasks now just revolving around mime. Already we've had wedding dance, musical instrument and fake fights... just boring.
Yup! Not remotely worthy of 35 freaking pages.I don't get this show at all. Don't find it remotely funny or entertaining personally and I normally really like Greg Davies.
Yeh and the physical tasks were most often the ones where someone would come up with a clever workaround.Agreed. The best tasks have always been the 'thinking outside the box' kind of tasks or physical ones like you say.

Great points.Yeah there's been too many 'everyone do the same thing and we judge the best one' tasks and not enough ones that give room for interpretation and different approaches.
Ok enjoy the other showYup! Not remotely worthy of 35 freaking pages.
Rather watch the Shockmaster.
The NZ Taskmaster house was a lot bigger. It does have similar rooms but a lot more outdoor space. The tasks have been pretty stale in general for a while now. Suppose its inevitable after 15 seasons. They could do with freshening it up somehow. Maybe they should use a new location for the taskmaster house or something. Or just do more off site tasks.
I had that in mind tbf. They have the taskmaster ranch! Two story house, loads of land and a lake. It opens up opportunities to be more creative with the tasks. The NZ Taskmaster house was a lot bigger. It does have similar rooms but a lot more outdoor space.

Yeah, that really helps the NZ version.I had that in mind tbf. They have the taskmaster ranch! Two story house, loads of land and a lake. It opens up opportunities to be more creative with the tasks.
Did you start from the beginning or latest season? I mean, it's still the same show, but the first few seasons were the best.I don't get this show at all. Don't find it remotely funny or entertaining personally and I normally really like Greg Davies.
Ive watched a few of them over the years and never once thought it was entertaining or funny.Did you start from the beginning or latest season? I mean, it's still the same show, but the first few seasons were the best.
That's fair enough!Ive watched a few of them over the years and never once thought it was entertaining or funny.
Yeah, Ivo's not disappointed for me. Though his dry, self-effacing humour isn't enough to carry a weak series on its own. But he's certainly doing his part to add some understated humour. And his and Frankie's one liners, and Kiell's complaining about the scores, are making the banter in the studio scenes quite good.I think Ivo alone is worth tuning in for.

Yeah, if someone 'never once' finds any of the first 7 series of the show entertainment or funny then it's probably never going to be a show for them. As that was the peak. That's fair enough!
I still think season 1 was my favourite. The one with Frank Skinner. If someone can't get into that season then, yeah, there's probably no hope for the rest of the show.
Did you mean Alex Horne?Brilliant concept! A portuguese contester sent his socks to Jeffery Horne by DHL on the "send one clothing object as far as possible" and Horne actualy filmed himself opening the package and dressing his socks
I don't really see the comparison with Mae and Sarah Kendall. I think Mae has been considerably more entertaining. I still think Wozniak was robbed in that series, and we're all poorer for not seeing him in Champion of Champions.Yeah, Ivo's not disappointed for me. It's definitely the poor quality of the tasks that's the main problem. And Mae Martin taking it too serious in a pretty much humour-free way a la Sarah Kendall in series 11. There's nothing wrong with contestants wanting to win of course, and that can be fun to watch if the contestant also remember to try to be entertaining. But Sarah and Mae were / are both pretty boring and almost robotic like during tasks.
Mike Wozniak getting beaten by Sarah Kendall genuinely had me in tears. Wife got a beating that night.I don't really see the comparison with Mae and Sarah Kendall. I think Mae has been considerably more entertaining. I still think Wozniak was robbed in that series, and we're all poorer for not seeing him in Champion of Champions.
She's been more entertaining than Sarah, yeah, but that's a really low bar and she's definitely been the most Kendall-like contestant that I've seen on the show.I don't really see the comparison with Mae and Sarah Kendall.
