Defensively pretty solid. Attacking wise, we're just not quite firing right now. But, this was a pretty good performance. Typical semi final game. Quite cagey but, we were good enough and I thought we were definitely better in extra time.

Unfortunately we won't beat City. Hopefully top 4 is sewn up by then so we can rest a few, and Arsenal take City to the last day of the season.

Was a hard fought game, nice to see us take good penalties

Thought Lindelof was fantastic and would like to see that back 4 against Tottenham

Would like us to sign Macalister and Caciedo

Jesus Ben, can't you just enjoy Wrexham's promotion and not shit on a fellow keeper? Just because you saved one the other week ffs
No, I'm still salty about my United career going up in flames a decade ago

A really tough game. Glad that we won a penalty shootout, which is massively psychologically. We held our nerve and none of our takers missed. Lots of things to work on, but the important thing is that we got through the game somehow. All about turning up now in the final.

Could've gone either way. Wan Bissaka and Lindelof were outstanding for United.

We won a penalty shoot out!
I know but the cost of that game might hurt us against a very beatable spurs on Thursday, we showed guts today, real guts, had to hang on in a much more even game than the commentators would have you believe, however if anyone doubts why we shouldn’t be throwing a ton of money at Brighton for Caciedo and Macalister both are massive upgrades on a 31 year old Eriksen and a 30 year old Fred, we need to sell Fred and upgrade for Caciedo and sell DVB and upgrade for Macalister, ETH saw them both first hand today so hopefully we forget about £150m on osimhen, go get R Hojlund, Caciedo and Macalister for £180-190m and job done.

Let’s be clear here both players or on £50k per week not ridiculous wages, we need to get this done asap

It's great we won if only to keep the team looking forward to something else this season. Was worried we would have lost confidence when we need to still get ourselves up for the top four fight...

Played well. Wan Bissaka was great and another good game from Antony even though he made 1 or 2 wrong decisions.
One thing I know for certain is we have to sign Caicedo. Hope the glazers feck off soon.

A great result, very tense but kept their heads. I think the lack of Maguire showed that Lindelof can play well in defence with a better CB

Pawson needs to be banished to the shadow realm like Mike Dean, Andre Mariner, Lee Mason and the other incompetent clowns.

Worrying how bereft of form we are up front. Martial finished as a footballer, Rashford looks injured, Sancho scared of his own shadow and Antony with no end product.

But at least we know that if we keep slabhead out of the side we'll not shit the bed at the back quite so much. Shame he'll probably be back in vs Spurs

Even enough game. Brighton started each half of the 90 better - i thought they were going to destroy us. But we came into as the halves progressed. Fred was game changer coming out - we got better control of MF when he did.

They were better at the tikki takka passing when we have our men behind the ball. We had more counters that we didnt make good use of.

Even enough game i felt. Good to win a penalthy shootout though.

That was painful. So painful. Agony to watch the whole 120m and pens. We were at a massive disadvantage at the pens, taking them second and towards the Brighton fans. When Sancho stepped up.. omg...was so brave after his troubles and that missed pen in the Euro final. I thought we were done when Sabitzer's pen seemed to have been saved. And when Weghorst stepped up... I thought the game was truly up. But we made it. We bloody made it. Now let's go and win it.

Not a great performance, Brighton are a very good team but the makeshift defence largely coped. We sat off far to much for me.
Lidelof, AWB and Bruno played well. Rashford and martial were poor today.
Bring on the bitters

Whoever that ref is needs checking. They fouled us so many times and only got one yellow. Don't want to see him ref any more of our games.

If he refs the game correctly and books them when they deserve it, the game is probably very different. Fair play to the lads for getting through it and winning at a disadvantage.

Has that fecking Scouse goblin Murphy topped himself yet? Miserable twat.
He was shocking... made Lawro seem cheerful.

Not the greatest match but at least we have a sat in denying City a treble and winning another trophy. Good season all things considered. No chance we are messing up top 4 now.

Tough game after a tough week. It's been a gruelling season. Can't expect us to be amazing. Just relieved to get through. Winning penalty shootouts isn't exactly customary for us these days.

Losing this after getting another 120min into the legs and lungs would have been so so frustrating, especially after Seville. That’s a big mentality win right there for the rest of the season. If City keeps their form the final is probably not winable but that doesn’t matter. Trust the process - another final reached, a pen shootout won, very nice going forward.

See u Thursday - Spurs are laughable rn, seal top 4!

I think we should keep Lindelof as a 3rd choice centre back and get a young with potential, Varane is always injury prone too.

AWB is the best defensive full-back in the world no doubt, just hope he can improve even more in the attacking side.

We can beat City, just need some luck!

I rarely watch the penos. To this day I haven't seen the Europa League penos. All I know is DDG fluffed his lines after a marathon shootout. But I will watch the replay tonight. Well done United. On to another final. :D

Match day thread full of people having a go at De Gea for not saving penalties. Happens every shootout.

Even when we won the shootout, some people in there, instead of celebrating, were posting that we needed someone to miss as De Gea wasn’t going to save.
Anyone doing that instantly on ignore

Tough game but after the trip to Spain I’m glad we dug deep. Thought we did well defensively which I was concerned about but I reckon I’d go with that back four in the final. We’d need mobility vs City

Yep and any doubt about selling either has been put to bed V Lindelof should be told he’s 3rd choice and he automatically plays when Varane not fit, as AWB I have a feeling ETH has become a massive fan. Get Rid of Maguire bring in F Tomari or M Gheui as his replacement.
