He's mulling it over. All credible Chelsea sources are suggesting he's waiting to see who the next manager is, exactly why and how next year will be different compared to this one, etc. If he's unconvinced though Chelsea won't prevent him from moving back to Brazil.
His wife confirmed they're staying after the match today.

Everyone has a lot to prove next season.

We've improved from a middling club with an unproven manager to a top 4 contender with young, credible talent. It's not that hard to digest.

We didn't expect a top 4 finish this season, and we will next season, with Europe, that's the basic standard for this club. We're going in the the direction, and with a good philosophy to boot. Not sure it applies to most other clubs in that' space.
Especially Chelsea, since this is what this thread is about. But as we've seen under Roman and Boehly, Chelsea doesn't stick with managers for that long and with the squad extremely bloated and many players overstaying their welcome, lots has to change for Chelsea and it'll be interesting to see if Boehly can be much more hands off and allow there to be some continuity while getting the necessary results.

I see it the opposite. The right manager for this set of very talented but young and inexperienced players.
Also hearing a lot about his high expectations and work behind the scenes. Whether he turns out to be the “right” manager or not is one thing but we have very much dropped our standards. If what the rumours say are true we very much need him at this moment to hold accountability to every single member staff and raise the level of the club once more.

I’m cautiously optimistic long term and he was always my preferred choice over hipster picks like bagel man.

Think you’ve got a couple of exciting talents coming next season - that you’ve already bought, but left on loan with their current club. Expecting a strong challenge under Poch next season.

Who was the last manager at Chelsea where is "ended well"? Or any manager at any club really.

Even Wenger ended badly and he's Arsenal's best ever.
I think it's debatable whether Wenger has a claim to be Arsenal's best manager ever. Surely his legacy is tarnished by the ending years where he lowered the bar to an extent where everyone was happy with a top four finish for the last four or five years. heh

Why is Pochettino bad for Chelsea?
I can tell you with absolute certainty that he will either flop or win the league. Somewhere in between is also posssible.

Why is Pochettino bad for Chelsea?
Because there’s a weird preconception in England that he is a bottler and a nearly man.

We won’t be challenging for the league in the near future so it really doesn’t matter. It’s his overall work in improving players and changing their mindsets that’s the most important thing at this time. The biggest problem with our players isn’t skill it’s mental. Complete psychological breakdown in almost every player.

It is somehow so strange to me, that Chelsea, a club that I don’t like at all, has one of the best (if not the best) set of opponent‘s posters on here.
Aw we love you too man ;)

As good as he is surely you've got to start building around Fofana and Badiashile now? Bit bemused to see Fofana as unused sub today unless he's still struggling with injury.

Think Poch played 3atb on some periods at Spurs but their best spells were with a back 4 and Silva isn't quite as dominated in that system compared to 3 man defence.

Like most positions at Chelsea there's just so many question marks and in reality it's going to take three transfer windows to sort out.

Oh it's of course fecking ridiculous that Lampard was playing Silva, Kante, Sterling, and the corpse of Azpilicueta on a regular basis until today. I do think though that Fofana is just coming back from a minor injury? So not the end of the world there - but the reluctance to play what may ostensibly be the first choice partnership next year is totally idiotic as you say.

Spurs under Poch played a more or less hybrid system between 3 and 4 at the back - Dier started in midfield and would drop between Vertonghen and Alderweireld as they moved wide to cover the gaps left by the aggressive fullbacks. I could be crazy but this feels like a potential fit for Reece James given his previous experience in midfield, his injury issues when left to run up and down a whole flank, and his composure and physicality on the ball?

That said, the last player I'm worried about is Thiago Silva - I think the lack of team success when we've played 4ATB has obscured how good he still remains in that type of system overall. Perhaps not as dominating (and not as able to dictate possession from deep), but I'd argue equally impressive overall.

I'm confident Arsenal won't be up there next season either.
That's good to know mate, the full Caf was confident we wouldn't be up there this season.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think you will be either.

That’s a goodbye if I ever saw one. Time for Boelhy to sign a few more players.
Does sound like a goodbye. Although his wife said he is staying. So who knows. Either way, Fofana and Badiashile should be capable of starting full time together along with Colwill coming back. Defense isn’t our issue. GK, DM and ST are the top 3 priorities.

Can Fofana be relied upon to stay fully fit though? I saw a stat recently that he has missed 50% of his games over his whole career so far. A broken leg, knee problems in several occasions.

Can he be relied upon as a key man at the back? I suppose United are in a similar boat with Varane.

Hopefully he has just been unlucky thus far.. Porch’s son is some kind of sports scientist. I really hope they can do something for the whole squad in terms of injuries and fitness. We have been absolutely levels below the entire league all season.
