Good try, I guess. When you concede a worldie 12 seconds into the match everything pretty much goes out the window. At least we made it uncomfortable for them.

De gea should have saved the second, possibly gone for the first. Two very sloppy goals, terrible defending. Thought we really stopped them getting into our box most of the game, but our midfield is terrible, as is our attacking options. Was surprised to see Sancho start and even last as long as he did, he was useless. Would have loved to see Pellistri get on the pitch, he's direct and that's what we missed. The difference in quality is huge, every city player chases for every ball, and the first time pass is second to none. In comparison, we wait for ball to feet and tale way too many touches before releasing a pass. Either way, I couldn't give a stuff if City win then treble, I'm more concerned with our next step. 3rd place, a cup and a cup final, a very very good season given this squad still needs a massive shake up. Hopefully the ownership gets sorted soon, and we can move on and sort this squad out. ETH for me, has done wonders this year. No striker, mess of mentality, and lots more.

I don’t understand why he didn’t dive for the first.

Not happy with the lack of energy we put in, but it is what it is. I consider all of citys success as shallow anyway so dont care that they won, but gutted that we lost.

Two finals and 3rd place is something to build on. Give ETH a CF, MF and goalie and we will be even better next year. Will take time to move past the cheaters, but its absolutly doable imo.

We nullified their biggest threats but allowed them to excel in other areas. We did well to gain the possession we did but looked toothless in the final third. We probably did better than I feared, and it's a sign of how right ETH got his tactics that I'm gutted.

We are nowhere near this City side in reality but we need to give everything ETH demands and more. Best thing to happen to the club in 10 years.

Also, the cnut who wore the Hillsborough shirt to the match will hopefully never walk through a turnstile again. Prick.

Gave us a good game and was looking for the final whistle way ahead of time.

I'm not agreeing that there was a lack of effort. I thought the players did their best and just fell short on overall attacking quality.

We've literally been without even a mid-table Premier league quality cf all season. Stick Watkins or Toney in that team and we'd have been closer to the title and could have won today

No idea why garnacho didn’t start ahead of sancho.
Another ghost like performance from him he is so fecking feeble I think my 8 year old could muscle him off the ball……

Game was always one sided, we didn't have a chance in hell. City even rested KDB and still we had no chance. They didn't need to even get out of second gear FFS. ETH thinking this season is a success is delusion. We just fecking lucky that Liverpool, Chelsea and even Spurs had off seasons. Needing a penalty to get back in the game but doing feck all after that... Fastest goal in fa cup history FFS.

Wtf are we going to do in champions league playing like that???

Game won by the heavy favourites, treble is next. Hard to care too much honest, we have had a good season for where we are right now, their dirty success doesn’t change that.

standout for me was the difference between Ortega and DDG in terms of distribution. It’s ridiculous.

Roy Keanne said that for the first goal Casemiro, Eriksen and Fred had switched off but the truth is they hadnt switched ON! How many times have we conceded early goals, both halves, because our players simply were not concentrating and focussed? And the same thing happened for Citys 2nd goal....its not good enough.

The amount of people on here saying "well at least we didn't get battered"... What a loser mentality! As soon as a fan base gets to this point that's the best they can hope for, you are irrelevant as a team. Whose is going to hold these players to account? Every single United player on that field today didn't have it today. Many looked unfit and their attempts at offense were amateurish at best. By the end there was no urgency and with a chance to tie inside the 6 yard box with seconds to play, nobody willed that ball into the net. Just pathetic. SAF and Beckham were right to look disgusted with that performance because they still care. Thats more than I can say for the players today.

I was really impressed by him, he’s better on the ball than Edison I’d say.

Sancho's had his opportunity and has been found wanting. I think like Martial he suffers from Pogba syndrome and thinks all he has to do is walk onto the pitch. ETH has still got some pruning to do with this squad and I suggest he starts with Sancho and Martial.

I don't really blame DDG, it's really difficult to react if the defender dodge the shot.

If they were honest with themselves, most already knew we were unlikely to have won this final, but we always live on hope.
There was always a half chance.

Apart from City being way ahead of us in most departments as well as in playing style, the weaknesses in our squad are still obvious.
Even with the extra midfield player today, we are a weak, soft side.
Fred tries really hard but is far too small and lightweight and easily gets brushed of the ball and ahead of Casemiro, there wasn’t a single player who could win the one-to-ones, press properly and with intent and aggression, or impose themselves on the opposition midfield or defence.
Rashford, Sancho, Bruno and Eriksen are all poor in these areas.
It’ll take more than bringing in a couple of strikers to address the soft core of this squad.

We need a more solid central MF.
Casemiro has been a key acquisition this season, but he’s 31 and has been looking tired.
Soon the injuries will start creeping in.
We need another player who can perform a similar role and also partner him in order to control the midfield, dictate play and stop other teams from progressing through the central areas.
Just look how City do that, with Rodri at the core (more recently backed up by Stone) and with Gundogan , De Bruyne and Silva buzzing around in close support, pressing, breaking up play and nicking the ball right off the feet of opponents, as well as being involved in their slick progressive passing moves.

We have a long way to go to get close to that sort of midfield dominance in games.
A more solid midfielder like Rice. He’d compliment Casemiro perfectly in games like today’s I reckon.

The sad part about today is City were poor. But they are bona fide champions.

We played better than I was expecting, I think tactically we were good but ultimately we've got a few players that just aren't good enough.
Now we need to back Ten Hag and get him a top striker plus improving the midfield and goalkeeper positions

We played well and did much better than I expected, but ultimately that's what a couple of billion in dodgy oil money gets you.

They will absolutely destroy Inter next week.

Were you actually in the stadium? Because I was and the United fans didn't stop cheering for United throughout the match.
I was at the stadium today. We were poor on and off the pitch today. Shocked by the amount of blue shirts around Wembley today tbh.

We did well, considering, against a better team. Sloppy goals, but also unreal finishing by Gundo. 2 volleys outside the box, one went in the top corner and one on bottom left with his wrong foot. Scored 2 goals from 0.05xg.

The plan was to stay in the game till 70’ and then bring on Garnacho to stretch them. We did that but we’re unlucky with the finishing and Rashford’s injury at the end.

We need another CF, a CM (Eriksen is just too slow) and a new GK. Then we can perhaps compete. DDG just isn’t good enough, Eriksen is too slow and we can’t be with Rashford as the only forward who can score all season.

I mean we had our first choice CB, striker, winger also injured. Its not like City where we can just go and buy whoever we like.

Bit of perspective is needed. We had a very good season compared to where we were last year.

Also we were not lucky than Chelsea , spurs or Liverpool. That is slap in the face of all good EtH and the team have done. We lost but support the team.

It was a decent match but we lacked in attack. AWB did well on the right hand side but our midfield didn't create a lot and Sancho liked to hide with the ball. Garnacho provided a lot more thrust, but by that time Rashford was knackered.

Garnacho started vs Fulham and wasn't that good. Atm he's mostly been better as a sub than when starting games.

Didn’t get battered. We played well without creating too many clear chances. “It is what it is” kind of outcome

Hate this kind of pointless take.
