I think it's pretty cool to see. It annoys me when people try and shit on trophies like this with some kind of trophy elitism. It's a trophy - it's not bloody easy to win. A lot of games, a lot of opportunity to slip up - and for many clubs it's absolutely massive to take something like this. You can see what it means to West Ham and conversely how gutted Fiorentina are.

And I never understood the dilemma "win a cup and finish 7th, or win nothing and finish 4th?". Usually, when you have a good team you can win a cup and finish 4th, or even better, finish 1st. It is not like winning a cup disqualifies you from finishing top-4!

But, it’s not the trophy itself and despite not liking West Ham, I can’t be anything but happy for them. Our cup winners cup win against Barca felt special, this is the same tier trophy. It’s a good feeling.

I agree. The vast majority of players will never win anything. Winning a trophy is a special moment and they should take pride in it.
