80 million on anthony and 60 on mount. He loves a big fee for an average player

Why do you think that's true? Was a Shaw deal announced by the club when ETH was asked about it?With the limited knowledge I have on this, if asked who out of Murtough or Arnold to keep, I'd go the latter all day long. Maybe some of that is because I've heard Arnold speak and found him warm and honest (in the pub chat with the protestors, which was admittedly small-time but humanised him, and also at the United awards show).
Besides some of the stupid stuff I see us doing from a footballing point of view, two other things stick in my mind about Murtough -
1) The conversation with Lingard, rejecting a loan but offering days off, seemingly without Ralf Rangnick's say-so
2) The fact that the media basically had to tell ETH that Luke Shaw signed a new contract. Why the feck isn't Murtough doing that?
He seems to be a poor communicator. For someone meant to be getting our footballing operations organised, he seems to be doing anything but that. Having said all this, it's really hard to assess while the Glazers are in charge. Maybe the likes of Murtough and the scouts etc. will thrive under new owners.
As for Fletcher, I don't get the crazy hate/suspicion over him here. He's clearly a very intelligent bloke (I've spoken to him so perhaps I'm biased) and lots of successful clubs employ ex players in more important roles than our Darren occupies.
Touchè. Let's see how quick Onana happens. One down, one to go
Tell me this is not the case, please.Sack this fecking donkey. Offering Mason fecking mount 300k. I hope the first thing the new owners do is bin this absolute useless director.
fecking ridiculous, those are talisman wages. A player like Mount should only get to wages like that after years of proving they’re a key player for the club.Tweet

Hopefully bonuses that are hard to achieve like goals + trophies and not appearances or whatever.
Well the add ons for the total transfer fee are rumoured to be hard to achieve I.e major success for the club based so hopefully the wages are the same.Tweet

Even without the add ons those wages are fecking insane.Well the add ons for the total transfer fee are rumoured to be hard to achieve I.e major success for the club based so hopefully the wages are the same.
How the feck would Law know the details of the contract anyway.Tweet

They are pretty high. That’s just typical Utd though in recent years and that won’t change until the ownership does.Even without the add ons those wages are fecking insane.
250k a week for a player in Mount’s form and also his position is fecking self sabotage.
Let’s hope he’s wrong and his wages aren’t that insane. How the feck would Law know the details of the contract anyway.
Somebody said 80k, and they offered him 200k which is what he rejected. If that's true then I imagine that is the minimum we offered too.Let’s hope he’s wrong and his wages aren’t that insane.
What was he on at Chelsea does anyone know?
That's not going to change with new owners mate. Until we're in a position to guarantee trophies again we're going to have to overpay anyone to a certain extent. They are pretty high. That’s just typical Utd though in recent years and that won’t change until the ownership does.
If we get Qatari owners I believe major success won’t be far off, so attracting players won’t be solely based on paying extortionate wages. That's not going to change with new owners mate. Oil money can be spent awfully too. Hopefully they are more like the city people (can't believe I just said that) and not the PSG people. That club is a circus. If we get Qatari owners I believe major success won’t be far off, so attracting players won’t be solely based on paying extortionate wages.
He's really not though. They all work together on transfers. As for de Jong, yeah United probably stuck around for too long on that one but did it really hurt us in the end? We had a good plan B option lined up in Casemiro which once we decided to pivot to got done very quickly. The overpay for Antony I don't think was the club's fault. The Glazers only decided to loosen the purse strings after the Brentford disaster. I think Murtough/ten Hag would've liked to have had the Antony deal done earlier in the window but due to uncertainty of the amount available and prioritizing other positions, we decided to wait and hope Ajax lower the price.I am talking about mess he made regarding that extension circus. Not about final decision will Dave leave or stay.
And for the last time; Murtough is the boss of Erik. Not opposite. If Erik changed his mind then it is third time that Murtough looks like a clown because of Erik (and when he looks like a clown then club look also).
First he camped 2 months in Barcelona for Frenkie (who didn't have any desire to leave Barca). Then he overpayed hugely for Antony and now this with Dave.
I am delighted with having Erik as a manager but DoF who will be manager's yes man is a absolute disaster for the club in a long run.
Wouldn't mind one if mbappe is the bearOil money can be spent awfully too. Hopefully they are more like the city people (can't believe I just said that) and not the PSG people. That club is a circus.

- See second tweet. Surely Murtough would tell ETH before having it announced. It's not a huge deal but it's a minor detail that looks bad. We have very little to work with concerning John Murtough's performance in his role as there's so many factors that affect it (especially the Glazers). But there's lots of little hints that the guy, at times at least, lacks some basic communication skills. I'm all for the new owners giving existing staff a chance but I'm not convinced Murtough will prove he's anywhere near 'best in class'.Tweet

It will be obvious the wages are huge that is why he is coming to us…as with many players.
He’d already turned down 200k at Chelsea, why would he join us for less?I read 80k
In that case 175-200k should be fine as an absolute max. Anymore than that and it’s an awful deal imo coupled with the fee.I read 80k
If you mean well to this club you would be concerned as well. Otherwise it’s one of the most stupid takes someone can make out off all the mess from the last 10 years.I find it funny that some seem to view the club's money as their own, and worked up whenever they feel the club's overspent.
Which has been adjusted down due to Ronaldo leaving, DDG leaving or on much reduced terms, and has increased due to United being in the CL again.So... about that wage cap...
Wage structure is crucial to squad management and affects what you see on the pitch.I find it funny that some seem to view the club's money as their own, and worked up whenever they feel the club's overspent.
Have you seen the absolute state of our finances recently?I find it funny that some seem to view the club's money as their own, and worked up whenever they feel the club's overspent.
Well yes, but people are also thinking of how hard it is for us to move failed signings on because of the well above market rate wages United tend to pay.I find it funny that some seem to view the club's money as their own, and worked up whenever they feel the club's overspent.
If we didn't overspend last summer we could probably put in a big enough bid to tempt Levy this summer. Also look at what happened in January because of how the summer window unfolded. In the end we only had enough for weghorst. It's not my money but I do care about how it affects the clubs future dealings.I find it funny that some seem to view the club's money as their own, and worked up whenever they feel the club's overspent.
He’s seriously illMaybe time to get Overmars in?
Whilst I’ll agree with Antony on the fee, Mount is a good player and it’s 55. We will all be happy to pay an extra 5 if he’s successful.80 million on athony and 60 on mount. He loves a big fee for an average player
He had a stroke but is fine. He's doing a great job as a DOF at Antwerp, with Van Bommel as Manager. He’s seriously ill
Well he can stay there the pervey fecker. We are collecting enough reprobate players without adding staff to the collectionHe had a stroke but is fine. He's doing a great job as a DOF at Antwerp, with Van Bommel as Manager.
