I wish you’d all stop bumping this thread just to moan about nothing happening. Many of us come in because we see activity, thinking some news but alas it’s just you guys talking shite

It’s the Kane thread that gets me excited and disappointed in the matter of 60 seconds

He is that bad even a Saudi team won’t bid for him. I would rank him as the worst signing in the clubs history. Di Maria we got our money back. Sanchez high wages but a free. Pogba underperformed on the whole but still had a few great seasons and games.

McTominey and Maguire would be perfect there. I hope both can happen. West Ham would be a better team, United would have money and squad space and two players would be appreciated more.

Everyone wins with this and I hope Harry can be convinced that it would be the best move for his career.

He’s easily worth 40m to West Ham. People forget he was a good player for us before we started trying to play football.

His ego is far too big to accept that’s his level and he would shatter their wage structure. No chance they do that for a defender.
Hopefully they pay us 40-45m and we can “subsidise” his wage with a pay off (or as part of the agreement the clubs settle at 30-35 and they shatter their wage structure). Hell, I’d even accept 25-30 (net) at this point…

With what we've got to solve this summer we aren't spending that sort of money believe me.

If I was a betting man this will end up being a loan to buy job, maybe 25 million at the end of the loan if it suits.

It us a Moyes style buy, but high chance he won't be here next year and that will factor into things.

Edit - paqueta is not on that much, its about 130k. I think we'd go to about 120k for Maguire due to his experience.

Honestly, Zouma and Aguerd easily competes with Maguire looking at the last couple of seasons. Maguire have been a joke. They just won a European cup. (Tough the worst one). So just taking the train down to London Stadium won't guarantee him a place in the starting eleven. He would need to earn it there as well, but with half the salary. Won't happend. He's gonna do all in his power to stay in Manchester.

Read the Article They want him on Loan Cheapskates .
It's more that he is 30, and Moyes may well not renew/get renewed next year and we don't want huge wages on a player we can't get rid off for 3-4 years when a new manager comes in.

Maguire is situational in his effectiveness and we won't always play Moyesball once he leaves. I think a loan to buy is sensible in that regard.

Oh I get it , said it in jest and Honestly I am not that confident that Maguire would even fancy West Ham .

He knows the type of clubs who are interested are West Ham’s because he’s fecking shite and doesn’t want the indignity of dropping down a level (no offence the West Ham)

He better be careful because another season sat on the bench and surely he doesn’t go to the Euro’s next summer.Even his biggest fan Southgate can’t justify 2 years sat on the bench.

Don’t particularly see the point in loaning him from our point of view if I’m honest. After the keeper (and hopefully a striker) it will be sell to buy for us this summer it seems. So unless we can get a centre back ourselves on loan it doesn’t seem to work.

I have no doubt it’d be obligation to buy if we were to agree a loan deal, West Ham are living in a fantasy world if they think we’d consider sending a 30 year old England International on a year loan with no commitment to buy. Maguire will simply stay as 2nd/3rd choice CB if we don’t get a reasonable offer.
