Lavia is potential and defensively isn't close to caicedo, caicedo is already fantastic while only being 21. You get a sure thing with absolute world class potential with caicedo, with lavia you get a guy you have to mold into being the DM which might not quite work out.
True enough.

Enjoy the silver lining : Whatever you think Liverpool or Chelsea will overpay is money they can't put elsewhere.

Mount did play in the Eredivisie, on loan from Chelsea. So it's 6 vs 2.
We do have Chelsea's former academy coach who is part of the coaching setup prior to ten Hag's arrival. And the scout who was part of the team that brought Eriksen to Ajax, is Henny de Regt. And de Regt has been United's head of European scouting since 2016.

And our head of global scouting is South American Jose Mayorga who likely knew about all the South American players due to him being a prominent scout in South America before ten Hag even got a job as a head coach. Mayorga is also the same scout who recommended the club sign Moises Caicedo from Ecuador.

So I'd say it's 6-2, with Onana and Malacia ten Hag signings. It's easy to twist this a number of ways to fit into any narrative one wants.

Just seen on RAWK

The Premier League should apparently investigate Brighton because it's unfair to set a deadline then not sell him to the club who they did the deal with.

Also Tony Bloom should force the player to go to Liverpool because Brighton are the ones who hold his contract. (that would work out well).
Whah, whah, whah. When does the transfer windows end again?

Klopp made those hypocritical comments just to be rejected by Caicedo 30 minutes later

He always wanted London because of his girlfriend. Downed tools at Brighton. Accepted offer from Liverpool. Then a few hours later declined Liverpool choosing to play for a club owned by Boehly.

Imagine our £110m signing acting the cnut in 12 months at Liverpool and we couldn't even sell him for £60m. Best that he ends up where he deserves to be.
 The copium is strong with this one

Seems harsh on Caicedo, he was annoyed we turned down Arsenal’s bid but then went on to play some of his best football to help us secure 6th.

Now he’s said he’d prefer to join the club that have been chasing him all summer and he agreed personal terms with months ago, rather than a club that appeared out of nowhere at the last minute.
Fair enough. You know the history better. The only question being why entertain that last minute team at all? There's no way someone bids that high without having the player's blessing. Just stay at Brighton until January or whatever for Chelsea to come back. The reason he didn't was because of some dissent and he needed an exit urgently.

Did they really put in a 110m bid without speaking to the player's agent or knowing if he was open to the move?

Or has Caicedo changed his mind after initially agreeing?
It's embarrassing for them. Caicedo rejected them instantly, didn't even take time to consider it.

Liverpool be moving like Woodward from Merseyside with this Caicedo transfer.

We might be in for a classic when they've gone through the boom and bust cycle even before the season's already started.

So, when Caicedo goes to Chelsea and Lavia goes to Liverpool (unless he suddenly doesn't want Liverpool anymore or Southampton jack up the price), who are Brighton planning on getting or using in Caicedo's place?

Chelsea are very much a team on the up
Are they? They've been a complete mess for a few years now and there's not a lot to suggest they've got their act together.

What's the difference? Both are not in CL, and doesn't have a passion for either. This is about business.
Well, Liverpool have been consistently near the top for a few years and have a very good manager in Klopp. Chelsea not so much.

As a player, I think he's absolutely brilliant. Has so much potential and could genuinely in the near future turn Chelsea or Liverpool into title contenders (other factors needed of course) It fills me with joy he's not going to the scouse. He'll be well booed at Anfield this season.

I honestly don't understand how you can be angry with him. He agreed to go to both Liverpool and Chelsea because both would be a step up in his career (assuming you did actually speak to him before bidding). He had a preference for Chelsea, it's no crime.

If Chelsea weren't going to come in with another bid I'm sure he would have signed with you and given his absolute best and been delighted to be there.

Their scouts are bound to unearth another gem for the position.

He didn't entertain them.

Liverpool bid and Caicedo said no.

The game between these two is going to be tasty! They already hate each other, and now that's going to go up a few notches! Funnier still, the higher ups are embroiled now, too. Imagine you've been in a back and forth over a potential £110m signing and then have to act cordial and like there's no hard feelings. We're in GOT or Succession territory here.

Someone tell Liverpool that Scott McTominay is available for £30m.

Also surely there HAS to be a point where Klopp is going to come to the end of his tether with all this and feck off? He's bloody announced the agreement earlier in the presser! Egg on all of the faces of LFC at the moment.

I mean... any sort of narrative that ends up calling Antony and Lisandro Martinez anything other than Ten Hag signings is clearly a bullshit narrative, constructed with the purpose of insulting others' intelligence. Come on now.

Liverpool bid was accepted but the player rejected them. The question is whether he rejected Liverpool or rejected their current contract offer.

Brighton are utilising my caf scout reports by targeting a player I mentioned last year.
