I still think maxing out on Newcastle and Chelsea (who didn't even win) after 1 game is a bit knee jerky. Chilwell would actually be my 3rd Chelsea player (Chuka and Jackson already) anyway and Salah > Maddison in GW3 would free up plenty of funds to do that and more going forward. Also Newcastle still don't have the best fixtures so I'm happy to wait until GW4/5 before moving for Isak (Salah funds would enable him in for Pedro). In short, hold those knees and let's get one more week of info.

I think these GW2 fixtures are probably a better gauge of how the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, Spurs and United will fare this season anyway.

Trossard is the only one I'm really annoyed with myself at. In hindisght was a punt too many. Had thought Arteta might give him some starts being as he was there best player in pre season but then he played what ever the feck that formation was at the weekend.
I think after this week, Newcastles fixtures shouldn’t be scary. They are at home to Liverpool and will score goals and Brighton will have goals in it too. I want Isak in by then and possibly a midfielder too. Defender can wait.

Chelsea fixtures are just too good to ignore. I feel like Jackson will terrorize that Luton backline.

I was too tempted by Salah as a differential, but I watched the Brighton game and wasn’t impressed by Joao Pedro. I feel like the likes of Isak/Watkins/Jackson will perform far better over the next few weeks

Avoiding any knee jerk here and just going for Dalot to Henry. Looked good against spurs and was a constant threat attack wise. Has a good run of games.
Hoping to roll over transfer next week and keep extra transfer for international break to judge players. Rashy will come good, I believe

This is good. Might make the game interesting again.

Losing Gundog and Mahrez as well this window, City are starting to look a bit light going forward. Can't see them not getting in some reinforcements before the window closes.
Alvarez now a viable fpl asset?

When is Maddison supposed to go up? I have Foden. I want to see the team tmrw before dropping him for Maddison or should I make that change now?

Alvarez minutes look locked in, think he's going to be a good buy.
Got him at the start because I felt this might happen with KDB, he should be a 7.5+ midfielder but as a 6.5 forward with Haaland and Isak it’s a good front 3 to have, normally leave a space for a minimum amount striker but not this year.

Brought in chillwell as soon as the Chelsea Liverpool game ended, he also looks like he’s in peak condition and enjoying himself, think he’ll be one of the top scoring defenders this year.

With Maddison bound to go up in price tonight or tomorrow, I pulled the trigger now.

Team for GW2:

Turner (Johnstone)
Gabriel, Chillwell, Estupinan (Botman, Baldock)
Saka, Bruno, Rashford, Maddison (Anderson)
Haaland (C), Watkins, Darwin

Hopefully the Darwin punt pays off and he can be turned into Jackson with a nice return on saturday.

I have left 0.5m in my bank so not super concerned about prices. I used to chase them like madman the last two seasons but don't see a point anymore, there are so many quality cheap options available that finding an extra 1.0m or 1.5m is not going to be a problem.

The only one I'm concerned about is Stones, otherwise my team looks great for the next two weeks. After that I will re-assess all of Stones, Gabriel, Martinelli and Bruno, possibly looking to move to Chelsea assets and maybe integrate Alvarez.

Gabriel is a weird one as many are transferring him out but with Timber's injury I don't see how he does not return to being a permanent fixture in their first team. He had started more than 70 games in a row prior to last weekend, so unless there's something to Saudi rumors, I fully expect him to be back soon.

79 points only because I had a strong bench.
I'll take that without any complaints.

Was there anymore news on Gabriel or is Arteta still sticking with his lame, 'It's a tactical decision' statement?
There are some rumors about massive Saudi bid incoming, I guess if he's on the bench against Palace that could be some indication of a possible move but I wouldn't worry about it for now. I will wait until we are closer to the weekend, if there are still doubts over him and Stones I will have to get a better defender than Beyer to fill the void on my bench (don't mind Baldock stepping in for one of them).

Meh don't like doing it but can't risk Trossard dropping and pricing me out of a Chelsea defender in GW3. Trossard > Diaby it is then.

Turner (Onana)
Cash Saliba Estu (Baldcock) (Udogie)
Salah (c) Diaby Rashford Saka (Chucky)
Jackson Haaland (vc) Pedro

Plan is Reece 'biscuit legs' James in for GW3.

That's a very similar team to mine. I have Chilwell, Beyer, Mitoma to your Cash, Udogie and Diaby.

Start Onana or Turner for week 2?
Currently on Turner. We did not inspire any confidence whatsoever and only got a cleansheet because Wolves were terrible at finishing chances. I don't expect Tottenham to have any problems scoring against us if we continue playing that way.

Well feck Foden and Akanji both played 90 mins tonight which means they will both start on the bench against Newcastle.

Pep is running out of options for once. Haaland and Grealish will definitely start. I think Bernardo will as well. Then it's one of Foden or Alvarez for the other spot.

Akanji depends on the fitness of Stones and Diaz.

Yeah exactly. Haaland, Grealish, Bernardo in attack with Alvarez, Kovacic and Rodrigo in midfield. Both Dias and Stones were on the bench ready to go.

Gusto at 4m is looking to be a fecking bargain if James fitness record is going to be anything like last seasons.
:wenger:.

Such a shame James is made of glass. He is so exciting to watch when in full flow. Hopefully he gets over his injury issues and doesn't turn out to be their Phil Jones. Would be a massive waste of talent otherwise.

Yeah watch Gusto this weekend and then straight in for one of Cash/Udogie/Baldock the week after. Still annoyed I can't afford Chilwell mind.

Hold Bruno.
Or sub to Diaz or Jota?

Liverpool v Bournemouth is dangerous.
