Never understood the love-in for him. Maybe it's the younger generation who are witnessing our barren years and the lack of real talent almost everywhere on the pitch. I can't believe that there are people who have followed United throughout the 90s/00s (or further back) and have watched the forwards who have worn the shirt for us and think that Martial's "got it".The **** of martial is still alive and kicking I see.
But he's the best option we have when he's fit. Who cares? Eight years we've been trying to build a team with him as an integral part of the attack and there's nothing to show for it. At least Rashford's pace gives the opposition defences something to worry about. Languid, temperamental and completely tone-deaf to what's happening around him when he can't make his favourite - start centrally and move to the left half space - move work.
It's funny that people present him like some safe or proven option when he manages to stay on the pitch for 90 minutes. Well, he kind of is, i guess. If he's allowed time and space to turn around and face the goal and if his marker doesn't go hard on him (and make him go AWOL for half an hour), he can do a job up front. He's another expensive mistake on exorbitant wages. He's not alone, mind you. He's got good company.
