I think Sancho would have been much better than Martial if he started today. The former couldn't hold the ball up at all and neither could he link with anyone running off of him. Saw one or two moments of that from Sancho.

Is start him against Arsenal.

Antony starts, plays utterly shit, gets chance to play on, become a bit better in 2nd half = he was great

Sancho gets limited playing time, isn't particularly good or bad = he is so shit we should sell him

logic

Sancho deserves a chance to prove himself as he clearly looks better than last season

They're both well below the required standard, some just don't want to acknowledge it because of how much we spent on them.

Martial was so poor that Sancho as a striker actually looks appealing. And my enthusiasm for that is about 2 out of 10.

Antony showed more than Sancho in the little time they were on the same pitch and that's when Sancho had come on fresh. This guy is barely able to compete physically as a sub, still can't do it as a starter IMO

He's like candy floss. Looks appealing but soft and ultimately pointless.

Those campaigning for him to start as if he'll suddenly put in anything above a 6/10 performance are kidding themselves.

He's alright as a sub but he's the example of a player that never adapted to the physicality of the league. Every game he is surprised the defenders are actually allowed to use their bodies to push him off.

Still I'd rather him than Martial. If Sancho is a false 9, then Martial is a false athlete.

He should at least start the next game because Rashford is not a 9 and Martial failed to prove himself to be useful.

He just looks so unconfident when he gets into duels or into the final 3rd.

I think this will be his last season here honestly.

Still way better than Martial though(not saying much I admit).

He’s about as un-Utd a player I’ve ever seen in a red shirt. Cannot stand him.

I thought he offered way more then Martial, but then any human with legs would have offered more.

He really needs to bulk up, he gets pushed off the ball so easily.

Genuinely looks like he could not give a single feck about succeeding at United. Opportunity is there for the taking but he looks half-assed with everything.

Small, weak, slow and uninterested. We should’ve tried to offload him in the summer, but obviously his insane contract means we’ll be stuck with him for years.

He was awful. Zero game awareness zero skill zero physicality. Hate saying ir but I just don't see any point now. Cut our losses next summer.

Looks like he’d struggle even in the Saudi league, he’s that passive and uninterested. Hopefully we can con one of those teams to hand over 40m. Never going to be anything other than a sub here, and do less than Lingard, who didn’t cost us anything

Minimal impact. Looked tidy for a few seconds here and there but overall was useless.

It is frustrating how physically weak he seems , an example was the final few seconds yesterday when we were under a bit of pressure. We get the ball away and straight to Sancho where you are hoping he just takes it to the corner or holds it up for a couple of seconds at least, but straight away he loses it so meekly with no resistance from him and they get to launch another attack , luckily it came to nothing.

The hate for martial on here masks the reality. Martial is still our best option up top.

Hate? The majority of the criticism thrown at Martial are valid he is a crock, he is unreliable and he should have been sold/improved on years ago. I like Martial and would love for him to turn it around but he's shown for multiple years now he's not going too. Wouldn't say people who express the same concerns is hate.

Saying all that he probably is the best 9 we have available atm but Højlund is coming soon hopefully.

Surely he has already showns his value even to his biggest admirers here. Should be sold asap (Saudi would be perfect for him)

Hasn't he been linked to Chelsea? I'd honestly take a Cucurella swap and gamble on ETH at least getting Cucurella up to AWB standards (i.e. flawed but useful) or something similar to his Brighton level...

Just hasn't worked out for him. Useless. Pity we can't move him on and get in someone that can gives up another option for goals before Friday.

Once again another player on stupid salary that won't be easy to move on.

Sell him asap, he is never going to come good. Same with Martial. I don't see any desire to play for Utd in those two.

Playing Martial makes it far too easy for opposing defenders to key in on Rashford and Antony and nullify our attack. Until Hojlund is fit, we have to start Sancho up top.

So the depression angle seems to have disappeared now
The fact this comment was made yesterday and nobody pulled you up about it shows how tilted people are when it comes to Sancho. An awful thing to say, and you should have the common sense not to display such ignorance.

Depression angle, ffs.

Take a good hard look at yourself mate.
It really passes me off when this is used so often as it cheapens the meaning of the word and the impact that it actually has on people that genuinely suffer from it.
Do me a favour and if you do not like my comments then put me on ignore but please do not directly reply to me again.

You post something so stupid then act offended or double down? Is that the hill you wish to die on?

Hardly wrong to pull you up for it though, it's a terrible comment.

Antony in his second season with one pre season, in December '22, January '23 fans started with: he is shit, should sell him.

Sancho in his third season with two pre seasons, did nothing or very little in two years, last game "isn't particularly good or bad", he deserves a chance to prove himself?

logic

P.S. Don't forget Sancho is English, so did not have to settle in England...

I'm hearing rumours he's up for sale. Any truth in this? Personally I wouldn't mind seeing him go for 50 million or so, and replacing him with Amad and Pellistri. Don't think our performance levels would be severely affected in that case. If those funds could be used to bring in another midfielder or option at #9, could be a very good deal.

Nothing is happening this summer. We could loan him out if we wanted to get rid but we aren't desperate too. We wouldn't get anywhere close to enough money to make it worth selling him though. Maybe next summer for 40m or so.

If Hojlund isn’t ready for the Arsenal game, Sancho should be playing as a false 9.
