just get it done without any last minute nonsense and I think we'll be back on track for a decent season. I think this signing is that important to us
We needed a CB for that and should be shifting McT to Fulham to fund it.

If signed today he won't be able to play against Arsenal right ?

A midfield 3 of Amrabat Casemiro and Bruno would be brilliant for that type of game.
I think he'd need to be registered by 1pm today.

For a number of reasons id say the chances of him playing against Arsenal are close to 0%

He seems to be in charge of the transfers.. If he has asked a player to wait for over 2 months, and we dont have more than 2m to offer as a loan fee, while we have gone out and spent nearly 200m on other players, he takes the blame.
OK mate. If you think it's ETH to blame for the fact that we're scraping around finding spare euros to loan a player on the last day of the window, then I'll leave you to it.

The rest of us know that ETH told the club he wanted Amrabat, told Amrabat to hold on while the club sorts it all out. And then the club failed to sell anyone of note and messed everybody around to save pennies at the end. Yep, all ETH's fault.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
It's strange when you take a step back and look at how desperate and excited United fans are over Amrabat on both social media and here. Comments like 'we need him' when most people have probably barely seen him play. I hope he does well for us but it poses quite a lot of questions for me, which largely centre around what our actual plan is and why we signed Mount. Something will have to give as ETH barely rotates, so somebody that we have either signed recently for big money, or Bruno/Rashford, is going to be benched. I'm intrigued by how he will handle this and what his preferred team will be.

But the excitement over Amrabat does leave me feeling like our standards are in the gutter these days. When you see some of the signings others have made, which is the market you would have hoped we would be in, then this barely moves the needle really.

Don't want to be a party pooper but there most be reasons why this guy is available for 20 to 25 million, while other players in his position went for over 100 million (Caicedo, Rice) or 65 million (Palhinha).

If he is on a similar level clubs should bite Fiorentina's hand off to sign the guy.

Ten hag can play any system he wants but we still need another DM/CM before the window closes. We are doomed when Casemiro injured/suspended/fatigued. In addition, Erik ten Hag's system of playing with two advanced 8s is showing many worrying signs especially away from home.
I was responding to the idea we'd weakened the midfield. I agree that we should still look to strengthen the area.

To be fair, while I don't think Amrabat is an elite midfielder by any means, he has been sought after by some other big clubs, and he's on the last year of his contract. His real value is probably around £40m ish?

I mean that’s a short sighted view.

Good signing if we can make it happen. I too am still confused as to what our plan in midfield is, as Amrabat is not really a Casemiro backup or a Mount / Bruno replacement. I'm guessing he's our pick for a Carrick type deep playmaker who's also competent defensively, which I think suits his skill set from the little I've seen.

Will he be available for Arsenal or does he have to be signed before noon?

Think it’s just a case of having a dig type of profile to Mount or Eriksen that has some physicality and defensive attributes. He’ll play in some games where two attacking 8’s isn’t the best idea and we need a bit more protection in midfield I think.

I think him and Casemiro in the middle . Mount out wider right Bruno out Wider left with two in front of them the old 442 only problem doesn't give us much width and will need or Backs to work like dogs up and down , tbf our wingers aren't offering much at the moment . Or Just lots of rotation using system we are using now

Not sure why people are confused about where he will fit in, players pushed out as a result etc. We're building strength in depth. Anybody who follows football should know an EPL side needs strength in depth to even stand a chance of competing with City. It's not rocket science lads

Frenkie 2.0 lets go :) Here we go soon
Glad this is being outed as a certainty quickly to reduce any hyperbole the club hoped to create. Won't let it detract from the fact this has been a joke of a window.

Delivering the bare minimum and dressing it up as a success.

4-2-3-1

Amrabat and Casemiro deep. Rasmus up top.

And a trio of Bruno, Mount, Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Garnacho between them.

We probably need a better centre back but we do have loads of options there. Without Maguire going it wasn’t feasible to look at a new centre back I don’t think.
Varane, Martinez, Lindelof, Maguire, Evans? +Shaw when back fit can play there.

Maguire shouldn't be an option to play for us. We're one injury away from Maguire/Evans starting btw - imagine that away to Munich

I love the player, but I just can’t stand the people running the club right now. Truly incompetent.
They think we are stupid and will get our cocks out for Amrabat on deadline day when it could have been done ages ago.

I kind of agree with you but ETH is still only one season in and I still have faith in him.

A great team doesn't consist of 11 world class players. We need some functional, pragmatic type of players that allow our "stars" and our system to flourish and hopefully Amrabat is that player.
