Guess the strategy is hope and pray. Might be a hammering today. Hopefully the Arsenal of the last 18 months don't turn up.

This is the type of game where we will get battered for the first 25 mins and arsenal will score 2 or 3 in that time.

Then we will decide to start playing but it'll be too late.
Yes that is my concern as well. Midfield looks weak and not athletic enough. And Martial starting doesn't inspire much confidence either. Hope he confounds us and actually breaks sweat. The GK is going to have a lot to do.

Feels like Odegaard might be the key player because you'd think he can run around Eriksen and get on the ball and create trouble, maybe thread some passes behind Dalot who isn't typically a left back. It'll be annoying if we lose in the most predictable way.

Martial looked unfit last game, but we need him making plays on the counter.

A real shame. We really could have done with his tenacious playing style today. Also, we now have to wait after the international friendlies to see him play. Pretty annoying.

    Anyway, 2-0 Arsenal.

I can't see us winning with this midfield.
Hopefully after the break we’ll see him and Hojlund starting and we’ll have better balance and structure. I can’t see us getting anything out of this, could be another bas day at the office based on how we’ve played so far. As well as issues in midfield I just don’t think we have the attacking threat against the top sides.

We can't play Eriksen against Arsenal. We won't have much of the ball and he's bad at the defensive side of things. Another concern is Rashford. For Dalot to have any chance against Saka, Rashford has to help out in defense. If we play Eriksen at LCM and Rashford stays up top for counters, Arsenal will shred our left side with ease. I'm sure EtH realizes this and I hope he has a plan.

Yup. I sadly see Saka having a field day. He already did last season against Shaw and Malacia. We absolutely must stop him, but it's going to be a challenge.

I'm calling bullshit on that leak. A leak four hours ahead of kickoff, allowing Arsenal to make definitive strategies ahead of time?

Fools didn't even know Rasmus trained this week, let alone got the scoop on the lineup.

    There's only one United!
Why are some people allowed to place 'supposedly' leaked line-ups before?

Yeah has already missed Spurs & Arsenal which on our current away form is 6 dropped points
It's absolutely infuriating how these clowns run the club.

By all accounts, an important reason we got Amrabat was to solidify the midfield, particularly against the better teams and especially away from home where we've been terrible last season.

Amrabat is going to miss 2/6 away games versus our biggest competition for top 5 (including Newcastle here) but the clowns in charge don't care.

Is Partey definitely injured? I don’t believe Lego pep one bit. He’s a liar. Always stops his players to go on international duty.

    We have three options essentially:
    1) Eriksen
    2) Gore
    3) Hannibal

Eriksen is not the best choice for intense midfield fight, so it’s a choice between Gore and Hannibal. Gore is more defensive than Hannibal
0% chance for Gore or Hannibal to start today.

Apparently we are going to get hammered 4/5 to 0.

Get a grip, pussies. We have the tools to hurt them, let’s just sit back and enjoy the game.

I would have played Oyedele in a disciplined role. With no Amrabat, Mainoo or McTominay, we really lack that extra physicality that is needed. Despite being tenacious, Hannibal doesn't have the positional discipline for this role, while Gore is a bit too slight. Was never going to happen of course. He's currently playing in a match for the under 21's.

Yeah he should have signed in time to go on pre season but clearly wasn't priority

But Oyedele is - very unfortunately - not in the travelling squad. Only Eriksen, Gore and Mejbri to choose from

Starting Martial over Højlund would make no sense. Might as well start with 10 men and put on Højlund in the 88th minute or whenever EtH decides to make his first sub. Martial was absolutely useless vs Forest.

Considering current injuries, it’s something along these lines:

    Onana

    Bissaka
    Saliba
    Martinez
    Zinchenko

    Casemiro
    Rice
    Bruno

    Saka
    Hojlund
    Rashford
    Behave.
How can you put Højlund in a combined best 11 when he's never even kicked a ball for us yet. This is just getting silly now.

Starting a 20 year old who hasn't kicked a ball in the PL or even had a pre season would make a lot less sense.

Why? At least he's going to be hungry and up for it. You can't tell me that he can possibly bring less to the table than a half-arsed, lethargic Martial.

Martial didn't have a pre-season either, and look at his pathetic performance vs Forest.

Seen our fans doing it a lot on Twitter as well. Don't understand it. Has to be Nketiah.

It wouldn’t. It’s nearly impossible to play worse than current Martial - so in the worst case scenario he will simply do the same as Martial. But in all other scenarios it would be an improvement

Last time we played him against them he had his best game for us and set up the goal.
