You mean letting him get a corner by doing his job and stopping him from crossing?
He hasn't stopped him crossing, he's let him run and then let cheap corners, the only time martinelli looked up he got a good cross off. All wan bissaka has done is let him run into cul de sacs and then let him off by giving off easy corners.

Meh. Good goal from Marcus but otherwise not getting the ball.

Antony gets the ball but either underhits his pass or pretends like he's going to run at a man before passing backwards. Busy but not really useful.

The Antony slating continues, probably been our brightest player.

Our midfield severly lacks a ball carrier, this is why I really have high hopes for Mainoo and in this game I think Hannibal improves us too.

Again the failure to sign a cb and second cf this window is evident. Lindelof really isnt good enough and Martial is offering absolutely nothing.

We have controlled the game well whislt offering pretty much nothing bar the goal. All games this season where we havent been behind we look over reliant on using Onana, its all too slow and safe, is absolutely no flow to our football at all....and without the ball we just look in danger nearly all the time

This set up is mind numbing. So boring and predictable, I get what EtH is trying but it just seems too slow and ponderous. We hit people on break we look good, that hasn't changed from previous managers. Can’t wait for Amrabat to be in this midfield.

Never seen a better performance of keeping possession within your own half in my life. What a sight to see
Well it’s an improvement. They haven’t been able to suffocate us with their pressing and force us into long balls. It’s a different matter that we anyway give it away after due to our attackers / midfielders being poor.
It sure is impressive for all the wrong reasons

    1) We are so patient to not commit to take-ons, passes into the holes or space/traps but it's also because we're shite with the ball progression as we don't have the profile of players to play precise, progressive short passes.

    and then

    2) Arsenal are so incredibly passive and respecting us so much, they're barely pressing our defenders on the ball. They're playing into our hands by not committing and letting us play at a snail's pace.

It's been a decent half for us away from home, don't want to jinx it Antony been pretty good, to many Corners though for them, plenty of the ball and some dodgy tackles from Arsenal that could have been more than yellow.
Keep the concentration for next 45 and get a winner happy days .. game was better after the goals
Agreed some nice wing play but again, I’m the final third he doesn’t offer a threat
He had space at one point and did two 360 turns trying to find someone else to pass it to and ended up passing backwards
Take some responsibility ffs and do something, try and take on your man, draw defenders out and slip a through ball…just do something

Even prime Zidane wouldn't shine in this team.
Club need to do IQ test before signing someone
Which of our players would actually pass an IQ test with above average? Eriksen, Varane, Mainoo maybe? Bruno could probably score 180 one day and 72 on another day.

Should we try playing with 11 men this half?

Or nah let’s save Hojlund for Denmark

Rashford scores but has made 3 passes in 45 minutes.

Other than the goal, a mature performance from the boys in the first half. Away from home, in tough games such as this one today, you have to, not only kill the oppositions flow, but also frustrate the crowd, and I believe that's what we've done.

Do we need to create more? Yes, but we've looked a lot more like a team today, and as Rashford showed, all we need is one chance to make a difference.
Wow. A nice measured and balanced post. Accurate.

The moaning in here clearly coming from those who’ve never kicked a ball in their life, especially not in 28 degree heat.

Has no experience in the premier league for you to base that off
Hopefully now Martial has shown enough in the first half to persuade you (that he is two times worse than shite based on this performance)

We're not, I am simply tired of this style of football tbh. Not a single one of our midfielders is capable of turning with the ball at the slightest bit of pressure, it's backpassing after backpassing
When have we ever passed the ball along the backline like this? It’s a bit disjointed but it makes a change from going to big sides and not changing anything to then get tanked?
I can’t see how this is same old, same old at all.

Feels this match is there for us to win. Arsenal leave a lot of gaps. If we can remain solid and look after the ball better, the chances will come.

I see people complain, but I'm pleased with our ability to keep the ball at the back. The midfield is tight from Arsenal, so its very difficult to pass through the middle, which has meant that Bruno is quite isolated. The issue we have at the moment is that the movement from our front line hasn't been good enough. This has meant that it's been quite difficult to open Arsenal through the middle, because they can maintain being high and compact. Martial is doing a terrible job with his runs, Antony isn't really a line breaker and Arsenal are closely watching our only outlet, Rashford.

Our attack is hurting us in this game, not our midfield or defence. I would like to see Hojlund on to see how this forces Arsenal to open up through the middle. They can be got at, but we need better pressure from our front line ( Martial) and better off the ball movement too ( Martial)

We can win but then there's this juju with our team that doesn't allow us to win because we have a brainfart or patches of lack of concentration that bite us in the arse.

    Very frustrating

Reminds me of the majority of last season. Good defensively, underwhelming on the ball, but deadly in transition.

The dreaded second half is here. I think we been okay so far, away from home against genuine title challengers, could be a lot worse, in fact I thought it would be a lot worse.
i was and am keeping the bar extra low..just incase. that way, as the bar cannot go any lower, it can only go up. happy days.

Easily second best all over the field. No idea why arsenal aren't pressing us, especially at goal kicks where we've played the same move every time.

No real control in midfield although there have been flashes from antony. So we're inviting pressure which won't end well.

The only thing Martial has done is almost give them a goal. Rasmus is going to have no problem getting in this side. We are so far behind them technically, it's embarrassing - only surprise is they haven't created more.

Lovely goal from rashford, brilliant ball from Eriksen. Appalling defending for the equaliser. Onana is right, we need to calm down - we panic so easily

I cannot understand this mental lapse. Scoring on the counter attack and within 2 mins, Arsenal equalised. Rashford is seeing so little of the ball, Antony is completely useless so I hope he wakes up in the 2nd half. Time for Hoijund, Martial is completely useless and almost cause us a goal by help

We've had a decent amount of possession, but it has all been on our own half. We look absolutely toothless but are defending quite well.

Reminds me a lot of lvg.
Loads of passing, none of it useful.
    We seem so static.
Casemiro looks about 100 years old. Martial - bored of whinging about that non-event.
On the other hand it’s still 1-1!!
