Both group games lost, plus four league defeats already. The players must be trying to get yet another manager sacked. The performances some of them are putting in are nothing short of disgraceful. Well done to young Hojlund tonight; he put some big names to shame. The beginning of October and we are already in crisis mode, it’s disgusting.

I guess another dead man walking, I don’t think ETH will survive if he lost another 2-3 league game. I didn't bother to watch this game but nothing surprises me now. I really cannot understand how this club has fallen, maybe ETH is too ruthless and players are not responding, maybe XI is so comfortable knowing they won't be drop. Lastly, ETH not addressing problem area and signings wrong players, Onana is expensive low quality player, Antony is very expensive average player, Mount is a very expensive unnecessary player, Casemiro is a walking red card, Eriksen is okay for free, Malaccia is okay for backup, Amrabat is okay for low cost, Hoijund is young and inexperience. Let's see ETH is around by Christmas, I am predicting that we will sack him if we keep losing.

ETH is on a very very thin ice, he needs to make up with Sancho, and quickly, he needs to lose his arrogance and shut up shop, he doesn’t need to do any press conferences, he now needs to do his talking on the pitch. The irony, everyone talking about 5th place will probably get CL, no one thought about ETH man united team literally moving EPL from 1st to third in the UEFA Coefficient ranking points.

ETH is trying to be too clever and if he doesn’t pick a balanced teams with defenders that can defend, he’s now.Lost 6 out of 10 games this season. He has to figure it out and quickly, sending Alvaro Fernandez on loan right now looks another stupid decision.

He’s bought so much absolute average shite that he needs them to start working hard or he’s gone, 2 more defeats in the next two games and he’s gone whatever we think and how we think we should back him.

Antony on 200k per week, Onana on 200k per week jobs for the boys, these players are never worth these wages, less so than Sancho and Rashford.

I don’t blame Amrabat he’s playing out of position, and he shows heart. But ETH needs to now show something, this season I get the impression all his hard work from last season has faded away as he got complacent and actually thought his team was ready for a title challenge, he’s completely misread the situation and the actual strength of his team?
We need a proper right wing player. There is going to be a lot on Amad when he returns. ( There is also one in Spain if you want to recall him in January). There is alot of bad luck. The Fernandez loan is a diabolical decision in hindsight.

We conceded 15 shots and 3 goals to Galatasaray at home?! Again I’m stunned each and every week in the wrong way catching up with this farce.

Remember when we used to pump these nothing sides 5-1 barely trying at OT?

Just goes to show that keeping the ball out of the next through good shot stopping is critical. De Gea was obviously a shell of his former self, but I would've had far more confidence in him in goal this year, and I think the players would as well.
This is hindsight nonsense. This forum was wetting itself at Onana in CL final last year. Player of the tournament for heavens sake

The resulting issues is nothing more than bad luck. jinxed, cursed, what ever you want to call but we need to weather this storm.

Players like Rashford and Bruno are doing absolutely nothing to lift the team and were poor poor tonight. We don't loose most of these games with a fit AWB, Varane, Martinez and Shaw.

Meantime let us give the kids like Hannibal some more game time and get the squad moving forward.
You can't sack a manager when his full squad or near it isn't available.

It's genuinely horrifying to see how hard we find it to defend leads. We couldn't even stay ahead for 10 minutes today, at any point. It's barely worthwhile celebrating when we score because the other team is usually level or ahead within a few minutes. It's poor. The mentality of this side isn't up to it. Clearly they can't play the Ten Hag way, they obviously know it and they play with no belief in what they're doing as a result. It's 2021/22 redone.

You are forgetting that we've been shit for years. It's only crisis if you think we are still Sir Alex team. We are not.
Of course it’s a crisis. We invest heavily in our team every year (and that’s still not as much as it should be) and have ambitions to be challenging for the biggest trophies.

It’s not easy doing that, but we should be on an upward trajectory at the very least. Instead we find ourselves losing 6 in 10 games at the start of the season…

The fact we have been shit for years makes it more of a crisis if anything.

If he'd taken Bruno off instead of Hannibal, we would have won that game.

Bruno taking every free kick and corner and hitting the defender every time...ridiculous.

Eriksen passed effectively for about 10-15 minutes and we looked transformed. When Amrabat is played in his proper position we will be more resilient, but it will be pointless if we continue to reward Rashford and Bruno with a starting role when they are so out of form.

Our two CL games have been fecking mental :houllier:

I still think ETH will turn this around. Yes we have been shite, but we've also got ridiculous numbers of injuries for so early in the season, which means we've not really had the chance to gel as a team - not to mention the off-field stuff too. Also I feel like we are going through one of those phases where our opponents seem to get all the luck - deflected goals, worldies, dodgy decisions etc etc.

It is a bit weird that in this age of DoFs we seem to have gone even further the other way and allowed the manager even more of an influence on transfers than we did before. I'm still right behind ETH but if things were to go from bad to worse ( a la Ole's last few games) and we had no choice but to get rid then I feel like we'll be stuck with a lot of players that a new manager might not fancy much.
Good post. On your last point: I don't think we'll repeat Ole's last few games this time around. Believe it or not we're actually playing alright bar individual disasterclasses.

When you think about it - it's pretty fascinating how we conceded so little during the LvG/Mou days. Part of me misses that now. If either of them would have had some of the forward/mids line we have now at that time, we might have been in a much better position today. Even though it's still short on quality.

It doesn't matter if some posters liked what they saw. The fact that we bought him when we could've applied more money to attackers is the problem.

We needed to apply more money for another DM or CB. That’s what we should have done and kept DDG for one more year whilst we improved the other areas which needed sorting first.

Varane was bad today. Our only fit member of our best back 4 can’t play 2 games in a week.

We needed a central defender this summer but didn’t get one.

Our stadium is the perfect metaphor for our club. A lack of investment means you spend all your money fixing holes in the roof, and every problem we fix we either mess up or two more arise.

We need the Glaziers gone ASAP or it will just keep getting worse.

It’s all doom and gloom and I get it but ETH must have broken a mirror or something because every bit of bad luck that can possibly go against us is going against us.

Mount played ok tonight but I wanted a true 8 this summer and that is 100% on ETH. We will look more solid when Shaw and AWB return but Onana is a huge concern.

I said it's going to be an up and down season but so far it's all been bad. Did not expect this level of drop off at all.

Something has to give in this team. 5 losses in 7 suggests that.

Bruno would be the first player I am looking at. I love him to bits but he's not in form. Really wasteful. Shooting when he doesn't need to, loose touches/passes, awful on set pieces. Rashford obviously another one people have been saying.

Question that is more concerning is who comes in? We've tried reverting back to McTominay, didn't work. Tried Eriksen, didn't work. Hannibal/Casemiro/Mount perhaps? Or just thug it out till we get a LB back and put Amrabat in there?

Either way, changes have to be made it's pretty clear. A lot of the team is performing poorly and I don't know where we go from here I can't lie to you.

The thing is, we haven't been shite. Tonight we were totally dominant, and were undone by long balls and terrible concentration. The lack of concentration after scoring and when the opposition haven't attacked for a while has been our biggest achilles heel.

Bayern's first 2 goals, Brighton's first 2 goals, Palace's goal, the Spurs goals, and the Forest goals were all down to us not concentrating when there hasn't been much danger, or the game has just started.

The Arsenal equaliser and winner, and the goals tonight, are us switching off immediately after scoring.

As much as us not making the most of opportunities has cost us, the lack of concentration and individual errors has killed us this season.

DdG is available on a free? Heard he is a decent keeper
Losing at home to a team like this, who most importantly played openly and attacked us when they had the chance, is really hard to accept. Not getting out of this group is really shameful with Galata and Copenhagen.
Don't write us off just yet, I still think we can get out of this group.

Yeah, I don't think so either, but you can never quite tell with football. I actually think most of ETHs signings have been decent - they all seem to have a bit of spirit about them which I like. I just I feel like he has signed almost all of them with very specific roles in mind, which is fine whilst he's manager, but it's a bit of a risk. Anyway, hopefully things won't get to that point.

Thursday nights are going to be the final kick in the bollocks. Players will complain of tiredness again.
Just play the bloody youth team in the Europa and use our first teamers to avoid the championship by the skin of their teeth.
Play the senior in Europa and youngster in the EPL for all I care. I rather invest in youth movement now. Get the young players use to EPL instead having these players who are looking at retiring rich players. Bruno, Casemiro, Varane has less years playing. Why waste time with them? We won't win anything this season, out of CL and probably finishing well bottom half of the EPL. This club is really a joke, really need 10 fengshui master to change the trajectory.

Yeah, I agree with all of that - I think we are probably just differing on the definition of 'shite'. If a team is making lots of individual errors, and losing concentration at crucial times then I would argue that is shite. But completely agree that our attacking play tonight was promising, and we've looked good in spells in lots of our games so far. However, we were undoubtedly shite against Wolves, in the second half against Spurs, and in periods of most of our other games. As I said in my earlier post though, I think that there are a lot of extenuating factors at play here.

It's down to the manager and the coaching staff to train the players to keep that shit down to a minimum, but whatever they are doing is making us worse.
There's definitely truth to that, but tactically we were setup well, were dominant, but yes the poor concentration needs to be sorted out.

Nail on the head. It was a truly bizarre piece of business. Every Summer I go in with hope thinking United will get it right this time around, but they rarely do.
