If it was ridiculously high, surely he would have won more than a League Cup in all his time here. Never seen a footballer make as many mistakes as this lad and he still thinks he's Maldini. What's worse is half the people on here still think he's good

all he needed to say was he’d fight for his place. The need to talk about high win percentage smacks of insecurity and his lack of self awareness as to the reasons why he was dropped in the first place. All this interview further proves is that Harry Maguire does not have the right mentality to play for United.
He got through the last game and did well and now he draws this unnecessary attention to himself.

That flick on for McTominay went to his head. Surprised he didn't Adebayor his way around Old Trafford by himself after the goal.

My win rate on Fortnite is ridiculously high too. I've played 1 and won 1. I'm not counting the 500 games I had before that, that was just practice.

This guy. He plays 1 game all season where we actually win and he starts quoting Messi like stats.

Another waster we need to ship on ASAP.

I saw Harry Maguire at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Don't really have a problem with what he has stated. I would rather players back themselves and put themselves on the line with their words than dish out clichés and platitudes. At least it shows me something about that player, what annoys me more is players that say everything and nothing at the same time and then don't even try.

My issue with him is he's simply not good enough or suited to what we need to do. That's where it begins and ends for me. He should really have departed already and it's hard to make heads or tails of what went on there, but his departure is inevitable.

Quite funny to see the difference of reactions a this thread and the one on Eriksen’s interview.

For Eriksen mostly the responses are along the line of « good to have hungry players ».
Here everybody loses their mind and have a go at Maguire for whatever reason.

He's said he thinks he's a good players and he'd like to play more? What's the problem?
The problem is, we tried to sell him to a club willing to start him every single game and he refused.
He can feck off with his whinging.

Not much, but it's the little things that reveal his soft ego. "Ridiculously high" – only an insecure person would phrase it that way, and that insecurity is what we're so often seeing on the pitch and why the abuse from fans is affecting his performances badly.
Yeap. It's a similar thing that Donald Trump does.

He's every right to say he'd like to play more and that he'll chat with the manager, better that than what Sancho came out with.

He's also underrated on here

He realised that he's out of favour now? Mid october 2nd season in? I mean, we tried to shift him summer. His win % is high because he's a shoe in mostly in games you'd have 2nd string playing and winning. Literally cost us Europa league progression last season.
Screams of a player thinking he'll outlast the manager.

Maguire was totally that guy in middle school who would trash talk everyone when playing video games, lose 10 games in a row and then go berserk that one time he wins. "I TOLD YOU I WAS THE BEST!" *unplugs controller and leaves*

He also said he wants to win his place back, it's hardly whinging is it, of I don't win my place back I'll be having a conversation hardly smacks of anything but wanting to play for the club.

As ever with Harry Maguire and others any little statement they make will be jumped all over even if it is massively inoffensive like this one

Does anyone actually have the statistics which break down win rate per player under ETH? It would make for interesting viewing.

The problem is that win rate is relative to the opposition you're lining up against. So if you aren't playing against the big sides domestically and Europe then you'll likely have a better win rate.

Now to be fair I like Harry and have time and sympathy for him. I do think it's a bit mad to come out with this statement though after one good game. He was given the opportunity to leave so he can't really complain about playing time.

Don't get me wrong if he puts in a few more performances like that against Brentford then he will have earned and deserve his place and yeah make statements like this. But after one good game? Bit too soon in my eyes.

Hope he does well on the International break and does get a run in the team on his return. Still think he can turn his united career around.

I don't rate him but aside from the win rate comment being dumb there's hardly much to pick from what he's said.

He wants to win his place back amd play more? What do people want him to say instead of this? He hasn't criticised anyone and when he has been brought in he's done OK.

How's the clubs win rate when Maguire's playing?
Last season, he started and played the whole 90 minutes in 16 matches. United won 12 of them and lost 4. In more detail:

PL: 8 starts, 6 wins and 2 defeats (the defeats are the opening two games of the season. The wins came against WHU, Bournemouth, Everton and Fulham at home and against NF and Leeds away).

FA and EFL Cups: 5 starts, 5 wins (Reading, WHU, Fulham, AV and Charlton, all at home).

Europa League: 3 starts, 1 win and 2 defeats (The win was the dead rubber against Betis in the last 16, the defeats were our first game in the competition against Real Sociedad and our last one in Seville).

Don't think he's saying much wrong here. He's a footballer and wants to play more football... Colour me shocked.
He's put his foot in his mouth because he had a clear opportunity to leave and get more football, the club made it clear that he wasn't in Ten Hag's plans, so this just sounds very silly.

Maybe it wasn't the right move for him though? He can still want to play more and not wanted to go to West Ham for a huge pay cut... They're not mutually exclusive.

My initial impression was just more a ‘sigh’ and thinking he should get starts for United with injuries now, keep your head down, do well in those games and then have at least a little leverage to come out with something like this.

Then I thought about it and, to be honest, fair play to him. At least he’s showing a bit of fight and belief, however misguided, and probably trying to build his confidence.
Agreed. I would definitely rather he moved on but I don't think he's behaved badly as a Manchester United player (except when in Greece!)

If David Brent wore football boots.

I can imagine him in training, “Yeah but no, what we’ll do is throw our trainers over the roof and whoever gets furthest is the real captain, and that’s the real captain of the team, the winner of that is the real one and gets to to wear the armband to the pub’ .

Eh? How can you even compare? Eriksen just said he wants to play more but manager prefers a different style player to him at the moment, that is literally it. How do you compare that to deluded win percentage Harry is talking about is beyond me. Also he was told to go and he wanted full payout but knew he would not be playing, he can ask for full contract payout, that is his right, but don't moan about not playing after that.

They’re both saying « I want to play more »

I get that Maguire failed to meet expectations but the reactions to anything he does or says are way over the top.

People just need their scapegoats

They are, but are you ignoring Harry said some deluded stats bollocks on top of that? And about West Ham situation where he knew he would not be playing if he stayed here? Don't ignore all that context and just say "they both said same thing", it is not same situation, not even close.

I find all the memes and over the top abuse online about him ridiculous, but he is being deluded and stubborn now.

I loved him after that assist and thought we might actually need him this season and he can turn it around considering the state we're in.
I don't love him no more.

No the guy is a walking contradiction. If he wanted to play he could have left, he stayed for money knowing he is 5th choice now wonders why he isnt starting. If he is a man of his word he will be gone in January, lets see.

His win percentage could be something to do with the fact he hasn’t started a game against City, Liverpool or Arsenal since Ten Hag arrived. Though we were 1-1 with Arsenal when he came on.
