Just got back.

First half one of the worst I’ve seen from United.

Rashford spent most the game walking Nevermind jogging, shocking.

Great drama but we should be beating this lot comfortably.

Sadly I just don’t know what to say. It’s a win but it’s still feeling so negative.

Yay! But…sorry to dark everyone out,

Rashford definitely needs to start feeling some threat to his position, however Erik doesn't seem to want to give anyone a chance

I absolutely understand the doom and gloom takes here but firstly, that is one of the sweetest ways you can ever earn a 1-0. And secondly, obviously we should be beating Copenhagen but they really aren't a bad team. Well coached and clearly had some handy players. They've also got a superb youth team judging by their performances in the youth Champions League so they're a good club it looks like to me.

I'm saying they'd give West Ham a damn good game i.e. they're probably a solid mid-table Prem standard, so a win against them should be perhaps expected but not taken for granted. I think overall that's definitely a positive night for me even though I was very disappointed in the first half performance.

On the one hand, we've shown collective resolve to battle back into the games where we've been in trouble. Players who were under fire have stepped up and shown some serious bottle.

On the other hand, we've struggled to beat three poor sides and turned in some utterly atrocious first half performances.

I'd like to think that these second half performances are the side slowly starting to knit together but it's hard to ignore how much dross we've been serving up.

Still, there's some cause for optimism with the improvements from Onana and Maguire and just the general determination we've shown to win these games.

Let's not kid ourselves: it was a terrible performance against a team that would struggle in the Championship, let alone the Premier League.

No, he doesn't, and its starting to get annoying.

Despite being chubby and out of shape, and just generally playing shit all season, is there any doubt that Casemiro comes straight back in on Sunday?

Despite never offering much more than effort, but being especially shit since he returned to the club from his break, is there any doubt that Antony starts on Sunday? That Rashford and Bruno both start, with the later staying on the pitch now matter how many times he gives the ball straight back to the opposition?

Why on earth would Hannibal want to stay here? He got some chances and did reasonably well, but hasn't been seen in weeks. Does Amad think he can come in and get minutes over Antony at right wing, or Bruno in the middle? Will he feck. He might as well start looking for a new club now as well.

Pffft. They're an excellent team. Should have won in Turkey, ran Bayern to the wire. Such arrogance.

We actually looked better as a team when Hannibal was playing even if he was a little frenetic at times. His energy was infectious. Plus he did some decent things and gave us some penetration.

I don’t know what the problem is but it surely will not be solved with McT starting games- chuck him on when we need a goal, sure, but otherwise he is not the answer.

Rashford and Hojlund need to get some routines going but I would consider “resting” Rashford. He’s just not on it.

We’re going to get spanked at the weekend.

Which Copenhagen players would have quality to be a part of a starting 11 of any Premier League team? Probably a couple of them in Luton.

Well, we did have the chances. We’re cursed at the moment. But curses do pass.

If you think the match has anything positive besides the 3 points, I'm ok with it.
You gen think they'd struggle in the championship?

I do think there are positives, yes. We've not had a proper LB for 5 games, but one just got 60-odd minutes, which might just give us a bit more of a balanced defensive baseline to build on going forwards. Confidence boost for a couple of obvious players, which will rub off with others. We're bereft of Confidence but are grinding it out.

Look, I've supported this team for 40-odd years, I don't feel entitlement because we used to win things. I can manage my own expectations and see the green shoots of improvement for what they are - small positives to draw on. If you just want to focus on the negatives then fair play, that's up to you.

I'm lost on how ETH thinks there is no place in this team's midfield for Eriksen, but then whoever he picks instead both a) can't play a forward pass to aave their life and b) leaves a big hole in midfield.

In literally EVERY game he has to bring Eriksen on as a second midfielder to try and sort it out.

It's like he spent the summer reading redcafe and actually thinking the opinions made sense.

Also can we stop criticising Casemiro for ETH's batshit crazy 1 man midfield tactic, now we've seen how much worse it is when the 1 man isn't Casemiro?

For context, i didn't see the game live, and having read the reviews of the first half, I skipped straight to the second half, and actually, watching without pressure, we were decent. At some point, creating chance after chance, but the forwards kept fluffing their lines.

Antony, Bruno who have been receiving stick were actually quite good in the second half. I'd encourage anyone to watch the second half again - we definitely dominated, even if we gave them a couple of chances.

Edit: the first half must have been convincingly tepid. I'll steer clear!

Got it over the line. I wish I could say we may build some momentum off that but we've looked very unconvincing in our last three wins, and realistically most games this season.

The second half was better and for times we actually played in bits but we struggled to create anything and still looked vulnerable at the back any time they got at us.

Delighted for Onana to get a big moment, he's the only one that I could see riding that momentum and we may need him in good form vs city. Maguire getting a goal is good for him, but he still had some sloppy moments in the first half especially so I'm not ready to call it a comeback just yet.

Eriksen changed the game, and it's very confusing why we wouldn't have started with him. Not sure McTominay offered us anything really, and Fernandes didn't look good until pushed further forward. Hojlund looked decent again, created chances for others and some good hold up play.

We probably do need to give Garnacho a go in the team over Rashford. I felt he offered more when he came on, although both should have done better when through on goal. I can forgive Garnacho as a 19 year old though.

Content with a "7th place" in the PL and celebrating a 1-0 victory at home against Copenhagen as if we have won CL.
How the mighty has fallen.

This squad, how did we even get here.

Shit performance.
Rashford awful, but where we are majorly missing is central midfield.
So many times the CBs had the ball with no options to pass through the line.
When we counter attack we look decent but for the rest of it……. Very poor.
Yes was a win so hurray I guess but we are severely lacking in central midfield and Casemiro is not the answer.

The only team that matters
First question to Ten Hag has to be ‘When can fans expect the team to win a match comfortably? Why does your team make it look so hard?’

Every game seems to be a slog which is won by the odd goal. Ten Hag has to start facing questions even if we’ve won. We don’t even seem to pickup confidence from winning.
POintless question

if he knew the answer we'd be doing it!

Copenhagen are in no way a poor side, they're playing in the group stages of the Champions League, there's 16 teams in the PL that would love to be playing there

It was not our best performance in recent times, but it was far from our worst also. Maguire and Onana have been easy targets for the doomsday brigade so I am happy for them. Given the night that was in it the important thing was to get the win for Sir Bobby, RIP. Roll on City I say ... they have not been indestructible this season, why can't we have a right go and see what comes of it? I have a feeling we are going to really put it up to them

Hopefully we're saving Mount just to give them a "different look" during the return fixture.

Honestly don't understand how by all accounts he's a top class player and yet we can't find any use for him, even if not in his preferred role.

Seems like some of the negativity is just for the sake of it, we should have been out of sight in the second half, poor finishing and panicking from players through on goal almost cost us.

Having said that, a big game from Onana after a few howlers should be great for his confidence.

How many times have you typed that? Why were we not out of sight? Seems to be the story of every single game.

We really need to be starting Granacho with Hojlund as they seem to have a great spark, Rashford is just going through the motions and dropping him may well give him the kick up the backside he needs. Something fresh is needed.

Erikson really changed the game in the 2nd half, we were more attack minded and settled.

Probably Onana's best performance for us so far. Very encouraging, hoping it was just taking time to get settled and now has confidence in himself.

Maguire, got to hand it to him, the dropping did him good. He has stepped up his game in recent weeks. As said, maybe dropping Rashford too will have similar effect.

First half was dreadful, but the last 25 minutes really saw a better, attacking display.

Kept saying we hope we have reached a turning point. Even with 3 wins in a row, my confidence isn't there.

I've been at tonight's game and also the Brentford game. Both first halves were shockingly shit.

Eriksen changed both games completely but obviously Ten Hag doesn't think he can compete for 90 mins and would be a defensive liability.

Onana was decent again today and his critics can stfu for awhile now that it's 3 wins in a row and he's been decent.

Rashfords effort and quality levels despite winning do not warrant any minutes against City or the reverse fixture against Copenhagen.

Garnacho and Hojlund have more of a link likely to lead to goals. We will be fried by City if we bring the same performance levels of the last 3 wins.

We have to shoehorn some players in, Eriksen has to play in a 3 with two CDMs. Bruno has to play with Hojlund and Garnacho to provide them with passes, crosses and through balls.

Team for City and Copenhagen

Onana
Dalot Varane Lindelof Reguilon
Amrabat Casemiro
Fernandes Eriksen Garnacho
Hojlund

Bayindir
Maguire
Evans
McTominay
Hannibal
Mount
Antony
Rashford
Martial

It's time for Ten Hag to take a stand and play the players that deserve to play based on their performances. I've picked Lindelof over Maguire purely for pace to play against Haaland and Doku.

We're not very good and I don't know what we're trying to do out there but we got the three points in the end. These performances can't keep up though.

We have City this weekend and Liverpool in a couple of week's time.

Expectations are so low, draws for both would be like wining the CL at this moment.
