Straight leg above the ankle should be an automatic red, but they just seem to make up what is a red and what isn’t on a game by game basis.

Exactly thisRefs being like "Pick me! Pick me!" for those lucrative UAE reffing gigs.
Can you imagine how good it must feel to leave England for a few days all expenses covered, first class flights, hotels and restaurantsRefs being like "Pick me! Pick me!" for those lucrative UAE reffing gigs.
I think so.There comes a point where it is no longer incompetence but corruption that is causing these decisions. That time was passed weeks back.
Good on Carragher to call it out.
Likely a double salary for "consultancy work" or "public speaking" like we know Mancini, Yaya Toure, Kompany, Robinho, Aguero all received. Can you imagine how good it must feel to leave England for a few days all expenses covered, first class flights, hotels and restaurants
Who can blame them? I'd give City another pen in the second half just to be sure.
Very much depends on the force used. Impossible to tell from a still image so would have to see a proper replay.
Here is a video clip of it, clear red for meStraight leg above the ankle should be an automatic red, but they just seem to make up what is a red and what isn’t on a game by game basis.

He's a terrible ref. But, in fairness the pen he gave last week was probably the right call. Player was just about to shoot and got pulled back and put the ball a mile wide.Same ref demoted last weekend, gave a terrible terrible decision in that game and then gets given the biggest game of the weekend.
The difference in danger levels between this and Rashford’s one is hilarious.
