They must have set up the Punk v Rollins WM match last night surely?

Punk looked a bit healthier last night from what I saw compared to his AEW debut.
Thought he looked great! Less homeless look.

Yeah surely that's the WM match, Rumble feels too soon.

Calling it now, if punk lasts till mania he's main eventing night one with Seth. They'll drop this back angle now.

Dunno what happens with priest. If he hasn't cashed in by that point he'll cash in on night one probably.

Will he cash in at all? They've so many better than him. Is he good enough to be champion? I don't find him interesting.

If there are other active superstars selling more merch than him, than that's an objectively wrong opinion, isn't it?

No one's being strange you were just objectively wrong and doubling down.

Anyway, good night.
You are being strange. The last what, 4-5 pages of this thread all feature you being an obnoxious twat to other people for no real reason.

You don't get to assume superiority over other people due to deciding you know better about wrestling than them. Well you can if you want but no one with a capacity to think for themselves will take you seriously, so why bother. It's actually possible to disagree with someone without behaving like a tit to them.

Also, I didn't think War Games was that great. The women's match was good fun, and Orton returning made the men's one worth while. Punk was cool just for the pop. Although when they just bring someone out at the end with no real angle it loses something for me. They did the same with Bray then took about 3 months to even decide what to do with him by which time any momentum was long gone. Maybe they'll do something with Rollins though.

The rest of the ppv may as well not have happened. They have had a run of very good ppvs but the last couple I've found quite meh and I've found I'm drifting back to not even watching the TV shows because nothing notable ever seems to happen and they rarely if ever put anything other than repetetive fodder matches on them. Particularly Raw. I genuinely can't remember the last time something happened on Raw it was even worth remembering about by the week after.

I agree with the poster you keep talking down your nose to. If this is WWE on a hot streak and when they can't do any better, then that's not a great sign, because its mostly quite boring. They've got enough talent to put on great shows every week. They just don't.

Nah don't think I'm being an obnoxious twat at all. The pair of you have come out with completely outlandish statements that are either complete hyperbole or totally inaccurate and wrong. You then both double down on them and cry people are obnoxious, strange or fanboys.

Having opinions is obviously fine but don't act surprised if you get called out on them on a discussion forum.

To be fair Punk Rollins doesn't need a title. Have Punk cost rollins the title against Drew or someone and go from there.

Although that would mean title feud (whatever that is) will be devalued.

Obertans #1 fan.
They let a 100 pound no mark 'shoot' on the companies biggest star at one of the biggest wrestling events in history and wonder why he reacted

Fecking Jungle Boy, who by the way is supposed to be one of the biggest dick heads in real life should have had his contract terminated on the spot.

God I hate AEW with a passion. The AEW fans are absolutely fuming this morning on social media its great to see.
How the hell can you hate AEW?

I could never get on board with the roster. I don’t like The Elite, Darby is a scumbag and I’ve said in this thread before gimmicks like Orange Cassidy and Danhousen are 90’s WWE but worse. Then you have wanna be bad asses like Jungle Boy….meh.

10 Canadian destroyers and 6 false finishes per match also got old after about 2 weeks.

The women’s division is just shite there’s no getting around it.

I could probably go on all day it’s just not for me

WWE might not be your cup of tea, but anyone really arguing that WWE isn't on hot streak right now has to be critically deluded.

They're doing extremely well on all the metrics be it attendance, tv deals, ratings, social media etc. Smackdown and NXT are weekly great shows. RAW is hit and miss though.

I think he’ll last. He didn’t seem to fit at AEW, or want to be there, I felt at the time he’d have gone back to WWE instead if they’d wanted him then.

I think WWE suits him more

This is the key thing. You can argue if the product is to your liking or not, thats opinion. But based on metrics which are factual, to deny this is just ridiculous.
Almost as crazy as saying LA Knight is the only over guy in WWE, ha

Fair its not for you, but why do you hate it with a passion? Wrestling needs alternatives, the very first All In helped changed wrestling, as did AEW. Its great for fans that it exists. Its lead to great moments also from people who have returned / left one company to the other.

This in a nutshell. As soon as a post is challenged, the word fanboy is thrown around.

I don't get this. At all!
Its subjective. I think she looks fantastic, and looks like a star.

If Punk doesn't open tonight on Raw with the line 'Never in all that time have I ever felt until last Saturday at Survivor Series that my security, my safety, my life was in danger at a wrestling show' then it's an opportunity missed.

I tried getting into it multiple times, I’ve bought a couple of ppv’s and subbed to Fite in the past but the wrestling is usually ridiculous and the roster just starts to boil my blood. They started every show with Orange Cassidy for about 6 weeks straight and that was me done.

How long before Daniel Bryan returns to the WWE?
His contract is up this year, he’ll be going back judging by his part time comments. The man was promised G1 and wrestling where he wants when he signed and Tony went back on that as soon as the contract was signed.

Ive always thought Bryan, Jericho and Christian would be the ones to go back to WWE for a little reirment tour. Guess you can add edge to that too.

Vice versa once Cody's done everything he needs to do I can see him going back to Aew.

I don't think Jericho will go back personally, he's a major part of AEW behind the scenes and has to be earning a feck load. Something I doubt he would want to give up for a victory lap in WWE.

Danielson is harder to predict. Everything he has said recently points to him being very happy at AEW and if he wants to go part time, AEW's lighter schedule makes sense for him.

Agreed on Cody.

The next thing will be them criticising the thread because they don’t like different opinions.
I'm assuming this is about the post I made.

Such a strawman. I never said or implied I have issues with different opinions. The issue I have is with the posters who have incessantly shit on AEW since the start. It's not constructive criticism, it's just pure hatred. Anyone who reads this thread with regularity knows which posters I'm talking about. It has already been discussed before.

Anyway, CM Punk:

I can't see WWE having too much Punk drama. He knows he can't pull that shit there and he's on his last chance. There's no where else to go from here. Looks like I'll be watching Raw to see how this unfolds.

Orton and Punk both coming back on the same show is such a massive shot in the arm. Orton is so underrated as a worker (probably because of his longevity) and Punk is just a lightning rod for buzz.

Two genuine stars and it’s probably enough for me to try and watch the rumble and mania. Will be watching whatever they do up until then.

Punk looked great but Orton looked in phenomenal shape. I hope both returns are capitalized on and they don’t become two more faces in the crowd far too quickly. Too much exposure has caused that to happen far too often in both companies over the years.

If Punk doesn't go the corporate sell out route and is a heel. feck it. No way I can handle him returning and doing the face schtick for a third time in like 2 years.... on top of Orton probably doing it too. It barely works for natural heels - see also, Edge, his WWE return was mostly a damp squid and it's going that way in AEW.

Fair enough. Maybe you're using hyperbole but it seems a lot of anger. I do agree with the twenty piledrivers and Canadian destroyers stuff being crazy but it also has some great stuff too. Its all opinions of course

I was making a general comment but I've seen a few comments like that. I don't know why people need to shit on either companies, competition is good and although I probably keep up to date with WWE more, I still follow a few AEW characters.

I think in AEW having wrestlers as EVP is always going to be difficult to manage the power dynamic so like you say he knows this is probably his last shot.

I know it's wrestling so we should take it with a pinch of salt but didn't he literally say that he wants this to be his last fully active year so he can spend time with his family? Seems perfectly reasonable and the injuries have already started to mount up on him. Think he'll win this tournament and lose the belt on the way out to put someone over. He also owes Okada one.

 Absolute nonsense as usual.

Fully agree and it's one of the reasons I don't post much in here any more. I've said it before but it's the weirdest thing in the world to me. Firstly to treat wrestling companies like football teams and secondly to actively hate watch something seems such an exhausting waste of time. I come here to share opinions about the wrestling I watch (good and bad), not read through pages and pages of that guff. I don't watch much WWE outside of the odd PPV because I stopped enjoying it years ago, hence I rarely comment on it.

Speaking of which, I think Punk will work out better back there. He looked in much better shape and he'll know he's in the last chance saloon. Rollins v Punk for Wrestlemania is right there and the build could be amazing. Might start catching some of the shows just for that.

With regards to AEW I really like the tournament they're doing as it throws up some great match ups and gets them back more to what differentiated them from WWE on the first place, mainly wrestling more as a contest than SE. Should be good. Everything else has felt a bit flat lately though apart from Swerve who's on an absolute tear to the top.

Anyone bother with All In tickets this morning? I had a brief look but was the usual ticket master shit show so gave up and might try again nearer the time. Genuinely had a great time last year so would love to go again.

Feel like releasing this early, they're trying to get a Christmas push with tickets, but I don't imagine I'll be getting tickets till next year if they're still available, and most of my family/friends wouldnt even think of getting tickets for me as a gift.

Yeah I reckon. Same. The mate I went with this year is actually going to Wrestlemania next year so looks like I'll be taking the missus if I want to go.

A few days removed... I've probably watched it at least a dozen times.

Surely one of the great surprise returns of all time?

I'd say the most unique return. The absurdity of it lurking kind of hurt the true surprise of it, even if them actually doing it, was a surprise, I'm not even sure that makes sense. But it just makes me wish he didn't do an AEW run at all really, that roof would of absolutely shattered if it were a genuine surprise going by the noise he generated when he was fully expected at AEW and here.

But, you know, still, maybe. But it's still no Cena at the RR 2008, forever the GOAT return, I didn't even like Cena at that point. Just an utterly absurd recovery.

Sorry, how is it nonsense? Tony literally pulled him from a show in DC because he wanted his return to be in an AEW show and never allowed him back. It just went on from there.
It’s literally in his exit WWE interview, they wanted him to stay so much that they tried negotiating with NJPW but they couldn’t get it done.

Quote from Khan

Bryan Danielson In The G1 Would Be Great, But It'd Be Hard For Him To Disappear From AEW

Every fecking time I post you claim it’s nonsense yet here we are, everything coming true and AEW in free fall week after week. I don’t even watch the fecking thing anymore, completely lost my interest,

You might learn something

I was thinking there's a small chance he comes out to start the show, then I thought there's another slim chance he's the 5th person into War Games... But as soon as Randy showed up it was totally out of my mind as a possibility. Seems like most people in the arena too.

That Cena return is also definitely up there. Brock's first return after Mania too.

Same here, watched it a few times. It’s the total surprise when people thought the program and show had ended.
I basically flick between this and Garnacho's goal

So my friend stopped watching as the credits appeared
I messaged and asked what he thought of the return as I knew he was watching live, the next morning he thought I was trolling.

@CassiusClaymore
I looked into tickets but I couldn't justify paying 150£ per ticket for level 2. I'll probably wait as it won't be a sell out and they will release more tickets.
This isn't the first one so I can see why they released a year in advance.
Do think aew should have looked into another market based on any metrics they have for popularity of aew.
Guessing they will push it as Danielson last wrestling show in UK and copelands first aew England show.
But hopefully they give it a better build than this year's one, with single matches for omega, and maybe main event for osprey

Also I found the comment implying danielson hating Tony Khan funny too
