Maybe look to get a better goalkeeper than Areola? He’s had 1 clean sheet all season. Not that many teams are reliable for clean sheets.
Yeah I would have done a GK transfer, even Strako to Kelleher but I have 0 in the back to do any upgrade and also on 3 liverpool spots, so just gotta sit and watch the transfers burn.

Of course something will come up in this hectic period, but can't see any plans as of now. Even if I want Watkins for 18, I can sell Mbuemo to Palmer and upgrade Darwin to Watkins before that GW.

I was looking at my team and I don't see a transfer to make for next three weeks (famous last words). Rolling this week and could be burning transfers two weeks in a row.

Areola
Trippier Gabriel Tsimi
Salah Saka Son Mbuemo Gordon
Haaland Darwin

Strako Lascelles Taylor Mubama
Looks great!
In stead of burning a transfer I would probably go for a Kelleher punt (in for Strako), since he will most likely outscore Areola the next 3 GWs

I have so many fires in my team now, that I might just let them all burna and WC in GW19.
Team right now for GW14 (players not even playing bolded, might be out with injuries or just being bad picks "!" )

Johnstone (Turner)
Tripps, Mitchell (!), Cash (!) (Al-Dakhil, Lamptey)
Salah (in for Bruno this week), Saka, Gordon, Palmer, Eze (!)
Haaland (C), Darwin, Watkins (!)

0 FTs, 0,4M ITB

If the pressers today reveals big risk of Watkins being out, I'll take a hit to get Eze out for Hwang or similar...

Can't wait to click the WC button at 19:30, 21/12

I mean SURELY a front 7 of Haaland, Watkins, Darwin, Salah, Garnacho, Doku and Saka will run amok this week, right? Right?

Right.

If Watkins plays that is......and if Doku and Garnacho's doesn't mirror their numbers, because those aren't very good, so they need to do a lot more than they usually do. Doku's 5 returns haul came from 1 xG+A, so that will never happen again and he's more likely to continue delivering a return every 3-4 games like he usually does. Garnacho has done very little this season outside this week's two screamers. Could be nice differentials, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Saka really doesn't look like he'll go amok these days either. 4 shots in the last 5 matches total (a total of 0,16xG total), so a lucky assist looks more likely.

The others may go berserk though.

My 7 attackers are just as dodgey by the way (I have Gordon and Palmer where you have Doku and Garnacho)

“played FH instead of wild card”

Think might go for WC next week with the same team I’ve free hit and just remove maguire - any suggestions for defender as I’ll have 4.4m in the bank transferring maguire. Also should I go Watkins to Darwin / Jackson

Kelleher (Areola)
Tsimi Pinnock Gabriel (maguire, Lascelles)
Doku Salah Mbuemo Saka Gordon
Haaland Isak (Watkins)

Nice team!
I'd keep Maguire or maybe go for Mykolenko, but Everton has just as bad ffixtures as us going forward.
Watkins is the best striker pick after Haaland, so I would keep him too.

With Watkins doubtful news and as I’m playing FH, thinking this week might go for Jackson. Or should I stick with Gordon from the bench

Isak got a pretty good schedule also, if you dont have him already.
Feels sickening putting him against us though I suppose. Then Wilson always loitering to come back in and see him back on the wing.
I'm still burnt by picking Isak not Wilson last year.

Edit Just seen Wilson is late Dec comeback

Son to Saka or Bowen to Mbuemo I think, for me.

Yes, or Isaak. Watkins fixtures turn shit. Son could still deliver though but won't be a horrible loss as Mbeumo has his numbers.
Had a look at his fixtures, and it's us, resurgent Everton away (bar their smash against us) then Tottenham away.
Not that great a run is it?

The 3 after that look much better.

We're shit, Everton just got smashed, Spurs missing Van Der Ben I think. There's goals.

On paper yeah I'd do that but Watkins and Son are more dangerous on the counter so no crying if/when it goes tits up.
Always room for crying.

Darwin is utterly pony as a finisher, but it seems the stars are aligning for him to start onion bagging this next few games.

Sod it, stick to the plan.

Son & Watkins out, Mbeumo and Darwin in.

Have enough to do Archer to Isak next week if he's still looking a good option.

Andersen to Pinnock and Alvarez to Isak for a -4?

Which would mean holding Son and Bowen this week.

Concerning that you're taking Son out and I'm bringing him in but unless I get news on Bowen I'm gonna have to punt on him for the month ahead. He usually does well against City in fairness

Having transfer regrets over Son>Sterling. It's not that I mind the move itself, but think I should have done Turner>Kelleher instead with my transfer this week.

I've talked about maybe getting a non playing 3.9m goalie anyway as a backup before eventually upgrading on Areola. Kelleher would be starting for me right now, could have set him as first choice and forget about it for a while. When he drops out, Areola auto starts instead.

Anyway:

Areola
Cash, Lascelles, Tsimikas
Sterling, Mbeumo, Martinelli, Salah, Gordon
Watkins, Haaland (c)

Turner, Guehi, Branthwaite, Archer

Amazing how popular Areola is when he never gets a cleany.
Hope he finally does it this week.

Considered the idea of Kelleher but then thought it ties up a Liverpool slot when might be better 3rd option.

Was between Sterling / Palmer and ended up going for the latter. Feels odd as I’ve deliberately left a load of money in the bank but marginally prefer him regardless of price.

Yeah, he's looked better and more central for them and is on pens. Even if Raz outscores him I will be surprised if it is enough to justify the price gap.

This might be a daft question but how come everyone's going for Mbuemo over Doku? They both have a blank coming up and surely Doku has a higher ceiling of points now that he's a guaranteed starter.

All of Brentford's chances seem to be falling for MBuemo. He's on pens and has 3 great fixtures. City have the pep roulette risk and points spread around. Doku is a good pick though particularly if you're chasing

Yep, I'm chasing. Having to opt for differentials already. Hopefully Spurs go a man down on Sunday and play another ridiculously high line.
