Ten Hag is managing his minutes well in my opinion. He obviously has some issue with his back or whatever. I'd rather his minutes are managed than being run into the ground like we've seen before.

Looked gassed 2nd half v Chelsea, I thought he wasn't fully fit yet so no surprise he's been benched.

I rate Hojlund but he needs a change of position as he doesn’t have the maturity to be a #9 for this club just yet.

He makes decisions too slowly and his anticipation in the box isn’t as good as it should be. It’s like he does most things half a second too late. I also consider him to be a victim of stereotyping like Lukaku in that people see their frames and expect them to be target men whereas they are more devestating when using their pace to run behind defenders.

His attributes are better suited to playing wide on the right where he can put his pace to good use and get some shots off. He can bully fullbacks off his physical attributes. I’m sure he would get some confidence from a stint out wide.

Ultimately we should have never spent so much on him in the first place but we are stuck with him now. I strongly believe that he has the talent, application and physical qualities to be a success at this club but he is a victim of the wider dysfunction.

He is absolutely awful. Nothing more than a battering ram. Another shit signing.

Anyone who's giving it the; "You can see the talent/He's almost there/diamond in the rough/it'll come good, he's too good not to" spiel is talking out their arse.

He is not a good player. He has one facet to his game, being able to back into a defender. The rest ranges from absolute rubbish to limited.

We were sold another pup.

"Hojlund doesn't score!! He's so shit!!!!!"

I need not say anything more than when Dalot should have squared it for a tap in for him to make it 1-1 but instead decided to shoot from an extremely acute angle, he obviously misses then they went on and scored to make it 2-0 and the whole flow of the game changed in their favour. Look at Bournemouth today, if he was on their team they square it and he scores.

Absolutely braindead team.

Poor but still better than Martial. We need a striker and yeah, we spent 70m last summer.

He was poor today but still offered much more than Martial
Agreed was much better than Martial but is young and not ready right now. I see a player there but he is two or three seasons from first team regular I think.

I'm afraid he's not very good - right now. Shame as I really hope he makes it.

Same as on Wednesday.

Made the near post run, ball goes far post.

Dalot should have been hooked off for that, he's fecking brain dead, absolute tool.

No goals in a long, long time now in the PL. Looks a bit lost in that regard and definitely no saviour even if there's a player in there in the future.

Not much between him and Martial today. Cluelessly got booked. Desperate to get someone in that can play striker for us.

So what about the 5 goals in the champions league? A shit player would not be the top scorer in the biggest competition in football.

He's not been good but let's be honest, the attacking setup is absolutely dire. Not doing him any favours.

I think Ole would actually get a tune out of the guy as ETH management of offensive players is pretty damn awful.

Why doesn't Dalot square it to him instead of shooting when it's an easy tap in??? This shit is constant when he plays it's no wonder he doesn't fecking score. Nobody is!

He is not good enough to play at this level, ive not seen a convincing performance from him in any of the league games he has played
Excellent in the champions league and for the national team. Our team would ruin even Haaland, let alone a young raw talent.

Again, the guy was let go by FC Copenhagen 18 months before we signed him. Not sold because he was such a great talent, no, they didn’t really believe in him. There was always a question mark over him, and it hasn’t exactly diminished yet.

At the moment he doesn't look a good fit for whatever the manager wants to do.

But that's the problem I have no idea what the manager is trying to do.

.no he lost the defender and was in the perfect spot for the pass.
Nope, he got himself close to the two defenders and Dalot.

The type of pass he needed would've been likely behind him and not easy to control if it was played.

Disagree completely. Very simpel pass to make.

This is the guy you want, not Ole.

Or him, case being I think people are really missing the clear issue and that is ETH.
Outside of Rashford's form last year we really looked bereft of idea's offensively and its continued this season. ETH is doing a sh*te job with our attacking play.

There’s two ways to look at this:

1. Højlund himself : ignore what he actually cost and that we brought him to be our leading striker now. We have to pretend that we paid £30m for him as a promising backup and that our actual world class striker is injured, resulting in him being the main man. Against that backdrop, he’d be doing okay. He has some moments of promise and poor performances are entirely excusable.

2. The club: Højlund is the type of signing to make from a position of strength, with a view to him being back up and gradually increasing his involvement over the next few seasons. Unfortunately, we don’t possess any world class CF and so we should not have been going anywhere near him in the summer, unless we also had the money to buy a CF ready to lead the line now. We got completely ripped off by Atlanta who knew that we had no real alternative and didn’t even sign him early enough to give him a proper pre-season. A completely crazy signing, in keeping with our transfer business over recent years.

If he played for Liverpool or Arsenal he'd have at least 6 PL goals already. We're actually making him look like a bad striker when he's more than serviceable. We focus way too much of our play out wide and ignore the striker making runs in the centre.

Just take a look at the Dalot situation today, or Amarabat having Højlund free just a few metres away from him today and choosing to pass to a marked Garnacho. I'm beginning to think that it's a coaching issue. He does all the dirty work and helps the team get up the pitch but how many times does he actually get a pass and take a shot per game? He always has to fight for scraps and make things happen himself.

Totally correct. It’s hard to judge anyone in this United side, we are so dysfunctional.
