Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
Aye, looks like I got the timelines mixed up.

Still maintain he never peaked, he showed glimpses of what he was capable of. Even during what you call his peak season he regularly went 2 or 3 games in a row without providing any goal threat or assists. He never really showed the consistent level of top performances you'd associate with a player at their peak.
I think a lot of people forget that he was still only 24 when his injury problems began and basically ended his career at the top level (in the sense of being able to perform at that level anyway). And that by then he'd already 'wasted' two and a half years under a manager who blatantly didn't like him and prioritised other players even when Martial was easily outperforming them all.

There have been times that he hasn't helped himself, but Martial really has been incredibly unlucky with how his career has gone.

A lot of top Premier League strikers begin to develop better movement with age to compensate for their declining pace in their late 20s. But you watch Martial when a ball is about to come into the box and he still offers as much movement as a dead cat. I have very little sympathy for him as he hasn't shown much desire to adapt his game after injuries have taken their toll.

Forget about Martial, he is here to make up space. His career has ended 3-4 years ago, Martial main responsibilities today is add numbers to the bench, ensure that club doctor is busy, replace Hoijund when he is out of gas, throw on to get a desperation goal. Martial will likely go back a tier 2 club in France when his contract ends.

Still don’t understand the level of stick he gets. He’s knackered and can’t stay fit. He’s never said a bad word about the club but done his best to maintain fitness to be available. He joined Sevilla on loan hoping to get proper playing time and sort his future out. At the age of 27, turning 28 shortly, he’s unlikely to get a solid contract at another club and his career has more or less gone to shit.
Welcome to the Caf. We’ve been here before with Phil jones. You aren’t allowed to be injured. Ever.
Yes martial needs to leave, but i find the abuse too much at times

I think it's correlated to the expectation. People take the piss that we had a balon d'or clause in there, but that was the level of hype he rightfully had. Injuries seem to have really hampered his explosiveness and momentum.

Obviously the club had high hopes for him agreeing to a clause like that. Injuries have ruined him. I don’t think it warrants the amount of dogs abuse he gets from fans. Was the same with jones.

Oh yeah, it certainly never warrants it, was just trying to explain the root cause a bit.

A bit controversial view but I believe martials ceiling is higher than Rashfords.
I really thought he gonna be one of the best in Europe, sadly his injury record stopped him becoming world class (imo)

Should do everything possible to ship him out in Jan. I'd rather we played with 10 men than have that waste of space on the pitch. Wouldn't expect us to bring in a replacement, and TBH I don't care - I'd be happy using what we have or promoting from within. Martial is just another of those that needs to be culled. End of.

I don’t think that’s controversial at all, I think as young fit martial had more in his locker, he could go past players with ease

Talent wise yes, desire wise absolutely not.

He doesn't have an elite mentality. Maybe it was too much pressure at a young age, maybe he was frustrated by injuries, maybe he had the wrong coaching, but watching him on loan in Spain told me everything I needed to know about him. He was a disaster.

Waste of potential?

Nah, he is a fraud, couple of half-good seasons in his career doesn't change that.

He's the type of player I really can't stand. Bags of natural talent but minimal determination to see it materialise.

No chance until next season. My boy is not giving up that paycheck.
If he goes anywhere in January it would be on the basis of us paying part of his salary, but saving the rest. Whether that would be worth it to us, or the club taking him on, is debatable, but either way Martial would still get his paycheck. To which he is entitled of course, a contract is a contract.

We're bereft of strikers so I don't see us letting him go unless there's a good offer.

Club must be clinically insane to turn down the opportunity to spend another £13m on this waster.

I think we would only let Martial go in January if we were bringing someone else in, buy or loan, and no one would take him unless they were more bereft than us. So it's unlikely, but we might have plans, and someone else might have an injury crisis, so it can't be completely ruled out.

Don't think injuries are the reason for the abuse, it is his lack of effort and application during games rather. Sulking attitude.

Wanted rid of him at his last contract renewal. Hopefully he'll finally go this time.

Buckle up Antony. You’re the next scapegoat now.

I hope he rips it at another club that has a functional attack and us Martial FC fans are proven right again.

So sick of the non technical supporters of this football club who’ve probably never played football at any level ridiculing our strikers every game.
